Trust me on this comment, there are a lot of "hidden" man hours behind that apparently straightforward design. As always a brilliantly executed job from the boys with the toys in the North East!
I just installed my TEC Bike Parts tail tidy this past week. This video is better than any printed instructions I've ever used. I purchased the option that required me to cut my own inner mud guard, and things worked-out beautifully. Thank you for producing a quality product with great function.
Installed my Tail Tidy today on my 2019 Scrambler XE. Excellent product. Definitely makes the bike look better, not that it didn't look awesome in the first place. Video instructions were spot on. Thanks for manufacturing this and showing us how easy it is to install...
Thought it would be worth mentioning: if you have high mounted indicators, they act as turn signals AND brake lights. This means that the wiring harnesses for each indicator have 2 plugs -- One plug is larger than the other, making it difficult to feed through the relocation adapters provided by TEC. You can still tidy the tail, but your indicators will have to stay on top unless you can make the feed hole larger to fit both wiring harnesses. In this video, TEC has a different configuration for rear indication -- indicators have only one wiring harness each because they only act as signals. This enables the Triumph stock signals to be relocated with the kit.
Just spent a few hours fitting mine after watching this video a few times. Glad I bought the pre cut inner mudguard. Easy kit to fit, only needed to double check the vid once. It's well made too.
installed mine, and love it...followed the video frame by frame...walk in the park Thx TEC!! little update after two years of use: when I jump and bottom out the rear suspension the wheel comes in contact with the license plate unfortunately. I can change the angle of the plate a bit, but not too much otherwise I get legal issues. Seems like I have to change to a different tail tidy where the plate sits further out. too bad because otherwise this is a great product and perfect for anyone who doesnt leave the tarmac with their Scrambler. Also, I live in Germany and we have extra ugly long license plates (180x200mm)
Thanks for the video it really helped, I did ask you guys if your tail tidy for the XE/XE would fit the 2024 X, but you didn’t know, so I bought a cheap one from China and tried that, the idea being if it was not possible to rework it hadn’t cost me much, it needed only minor adjustments, I did beef it up a bit as well because obviously being from China the alloy was a little soft so I put a couple of 45 degree stays on the bend to the number plate to stop it vibrating and eventually cracking, but anyway just to let you know you’ll need to a small re-design on yours to make it fit the X 👍
Even bending it so its still visible the tyre will still hit when jumping or big dip bottom outs. I used thr 2 slots behind the light mount holes to push it back more a smaller plate light and perfect. My plate has been mangled more than once andntoday it ripped right back under. Strong product so i could straighten back no icracks.
Hi and thanks again fo a nice instruction video👍🏍. I just ordered so it worked that way to ☺️. Regarding the toolbox you mention in the beginning, where can I buy that? Greetings from Sweden!
dead set mate; i hope you have apprentices cos you're a good teacher. everything you did and they way you explained it/described/instructed, helped centre my mined and reaffirm my good work practices. For me making a tail eliminator/tail tidy is getting a piece of malleable heavy gauge aluminium cutting it to shape and using a vice to get it into shape. but just cos you made a good video on i would buy one off you! Problem is i'm not getting a new bike till my yamaha's are back up, particularity the RD aircooled! Still thanks heaps for the video, my hands are itching to do some good methodical work.
Easy ti fit once you hacce watshed the video once... looks great once done. only small problem i have is that in sweden you are obliged to run a reflex on the back of the bike... guess i'll have to whip something up to mount one.
This seems like a great product. our numberplates are longer, and require a red reflector, which with this setup would need to go below the plate. I am worried it will be too long. Do you have any experiences with this or photos from your german customers? Many thanks in advance!
Hi George, I have my indicators up by the rear lamp, so does that mean I will have to cut the brackets off or do you supply one without the brackets on? Also where does the red reflector go? Or do I have to use a stick on one on the number plate? Regards Simon
Nice bit of kit buddy ...I've never been tempted with tail tidies but it certainly improves the backend no end...gonna have to cut the indicator brackets of it tho as I have high mounted indicators....I'm assuming I don't need to notch the cut on the plastic mudguard if I do it ?
Looks like a great product that I will be getting. Twi questions. You mentioned you are working on led indicators. What is the status on that as I am interested in purchasing the in one go. Alternatively would tge short stem triumph leds fit?
Excited to finally see an option to clean up the tail on the XE; and looks quite well done. Is there availability for those of us in the US to get the full kit?
What is the maximum width of the bracket where the number plate mounts. I'm thinking of a smaller plate than 8x6 (yes I know it's illegal) or would a 7x5 plate fit without exposing the three mounting points for the plate ?
Jumped on the link! Pulled out my card, selected the basic and then...I couldn’t find the US in the country listing😔 Any idea when it might be available for the states?
If I was to fit this tailtidy is it going to hit my rear tyre if I was to hypothetically jump the bike off certain obstacles? any advice would be appreciated!! :D
I don't sell them, but around £20 on ebay and really handy, see www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BERGEN-Socket-Set-46pc-1-4-Drive-Tool-Set-With-Ratchet-Torx-Hex-UJ-Adaptor-PZ2/151674452447?hash=item23508079df:g:3HUAAOSw1cdbs08x
Sorry for a totally unrelated question - But, do you have any plans making bits for the Moby Dick Rocket 3? If ever i bike was in dire need of a tail tidy it would be the Rocket 3.. :) Thanks for putting out all the good stuff and good videos!
Hi They will be available in the USA next year from Tecbikepartsusa.com. If you need urgently email us and we can ship from UK but this will cost you a lot more.
See the kit on our shop here (Available with or without a pre-modified inner-mudguard): www.tecbikeparts.com/product/tail-tidy-number-plate-re-locator-kit-triumph-scrambler-1200-xe-xc/
Contact TEC through the website -- they will get you in contact with their personnel that does US sales. I just purchased the kit about a month ago and I live in NJ
You are to be congratulated George on your very clear and concise videos. You help those who don't do these jobs every day.

Thank you for the detailed video. Just put one on my 2022 1200 XC. It was easy using this video as a guide.
Thank you for the complete instructions on how to complete these installs :)

Looks great with the tail tidy fitted. 👍👍 With that and your stubby exhaust mod the bike looks so much better.

Now that’s a tidy tail set up!

Great video, clear and unambiguous 👍
A vast improvement, great work guys 👍🏻

Hi. Nice job! Once its installed are there any problems regarding dirt lifted by rear tire ? My wife concern...
Hoping you get the USA onto your shipping options soon....
Anyone know the name of the tool set he is using or where you can get a similar one?
Easy ti fit once you hacce watshed the video once... looks great once done. only small problem i have is that in sweden you are obliged to run a reflex on the back of the bike... guess i'll have to whip something up to mount one.

Hi guys. Any plans to release the ‘Full Tail Tidy’ again anytime soon?
Hi George, I have my indicators up by the rear lamp, so does that mean I will have to cut the brackets off or do you supply one without the brackets on? Also where does the red reflector go? Or do I have to use a stick on one on the number plate?
Regards Simon
Isn't there a gaping hole at the back where you've cut it for water and mud flicked up off the back tyre to get in?
Just ordered this, nice job
Does this indicators need the wiring kit to be fully plug and play?
Can you make one of these for the water cooled street scrambler ?
Thank you for this video, very happy with mine, looks great on the bike!!!
Nice bit of kit buddy ...I've never been tempted with tail tidies but it certainly improves the backend no end...gonna have to cut the indicator brackets of it tho as I have high mounted indicators....I'm assuming I don't need to notch the cut on the plastic mudguard if I do it ?
Yes- if you don't need the low mount indicator brackets, just remove them at the top and no need to notch the sides
What tail lights are those that you installed with the tail tidy?
Can you install this without putting the metal rear fender piece back?
Looks like a great product that I will be getting. Twi questions. You mentioned you are working on led indicators. What is the status on that as I am interested in purchasing the in one go. Alternatively would tge short stem triumph leds fit?

Hi
in Uk only at the moment, should be in US early next year.
What is the maximum width of the bracket where the number plate mounts. I'm thinking of a smaller plate than 8x6 (yes I know it's illegal) or would a 7x5 plate fit without exposing the three mounting points for the plate ?
Hi Paul
max width is just under 7" so you will be OK with a 7" plate
@@TECBikeParts That's great thanks George … Tail tidy now ordered !
Well the 8x6 is also illegal !
Jumped on the link! Pulled out my card, selected the basic and then...I couldn’t find the US in the country listing😔 Any idea when it might be available for the states?
Could you provide the part number for the indicators used? Thanks
If I was to fit this tailtidy is it going to hit my rear tyre if I was to hypothetically jump the bike off certain obstacles? any advice would be appreciated!! :D
Any update on when these will be available in the United States? I'm ready to order for my XC! Thanks!
This looks great, would it fit a 2018 Street scrambler?
No that's a different kit . But we do make one, please see our web shop for details
tecbikeparts.com
Any chance you can tell me where to get an 8x6 plate like that from?
Where can I get one of those nifty blue tool kits?
How can we get the indicators in the US?
Any chance of a photo with the stock indicators on? Kind of curious how they sit relative to the exhaust

Like the tool kit you have - any chance of a link to it? Thanks

Is that an interceptor behind
Will I also be able to mount a US license plate on this ?
Fits a 2023 xe?
Hi. Any link for the tool set you are using in this video? I can not find anything similar so far.
Thanks
Hahaha... Found it in earlier comment. Thanks
Is the rear plate no longer legal ?
Nice T-shirt ;)
Great video and by all accounts a great product! Can't wait to get my hands on one for my XE! Are you likely to be resuming online sales anytime soon?
Will it be possible to mount a EU license plate on this ?
Great job. Order coming your way. Those number plates tho 😂

Good job!!!
Why isn’t it possible to chose USA for shipping country? Cheers

Just watched this vid to ogle at the enfield in the background.
Don't worry lots more parts and videos coming soon on the RE650
Just tried to order. U.S. is not a country option.
Contact TEC through the website -- they will get you in contact with their personnel that does US sales. I just purchased the kit about a month ago and I live in NJ
shame about those big yellow plates
There bloody terrible. Smallest we can go is 6.5"x6.5" with 6 or 5 characters. Most of them are 9"x 7" when fitted from new or from a normal retailer.
