A few people asking how to take part. Apologies, I did show the website in the video but I'll post here as well. Check out this website: www.thesimgrid.com/ and click seasons to get all the information.
I feel the same way. I'm attached to my psvr1 w/ps4 . But yesterday I ordered my psvr2/adapter, now i need ps5 & can't wait. At least now I can race on steam , ac, rr, ams2. That is gonna be a blast!!
Will never get VR support on console. Game is 7 years old now and all the PC players ares aging they will be no more further updates once AC Evo is released
@sturodgers87 Oh ya, I knew that was the case. Hopefully, it's included in Evo as I would be open to switching at least until GT8 comes out. VR is just so much more immersive.
Dude, I've been on and off ACC on PC and now console. I NEVER get quality racing 😅 I got GT7 last month and in a matter of two weekends I got SR S. I've raced in iracing, Rf2 ACC, AC R3E and FM8. The quality of racing in GT7 is not an issue for me ATM. Yea, I see how everyone says GT7s "dailies are stale and boring" but I want to race and have as clean as a race possible and I've only gotten that with GT7😅
Just got a PS5, and it runs this game better than on my pc. This might be perfect for me. GT7 is great for a quick race. Learning to race in AC and ACC certainly spoiled me. I can see this gaining traction, once you have a good race ACC your hooked.
for more than a year I've been dreaming of a quick race option in gt7, acc finally nailed it. This will be a game changer. the repeat combos on gt7 have now become really boring. i'm gonna purchase the dlc for acc right away. this is so awesome. the grid pass thing is disappointing but overall, I'm really happy.
@@tidgney No we love to see it! I must’ve just been too engrossed in the driving all these months to see it. I also have one that I never take off. But I’m still callin you Dripney from now on 😊
Great racing from everyone in that race. Watched from onboard my mates car at the time, there's still plenty of chaos races but I think it will settle over time as people's driver rating sorts out
Finally, Kunos managed to give a reason to play ACC on consoles. At the same time, I really hope that Polyphony Digital can learn how to drastically improve the physics, the netcode and more importantly racing etiquette from ACC and implement them in GT7 in order to make Gran Turismo 7 daily races fun again. It's not a good look when Gran Turismo's DR (Driver Rating) and SR (Sportsmanship Rating) gets hampered with no fault of your own (i.e.: Bad driving standards from other racers and sudden internet crash mid-race. 😞 I'll give ACC a go when I'm ready.
Strongly disagree about too many tracks. Im a new ACC player and ive tried the simgrid quick races. Ive managed to use custom setups by going into practice before the entry begins for the lobby that way i can get my setup quickly and get a couple laps in and then ofc go straight into the race. I also like the variety of tracks. The issue with ACC online before crossplay and this simgrid quick race stuff is that there were always the same two or three tracks (monza, spa and silverstone it got so boring). I like being challenged by unfamiliar tracks. I can learn in practice and during the race and go at my own pace and slowly get better. It’s also engaging that way because you are practicing and seeing the results by seeing how u do against others irl. I think they should keep it the way it is
Full integration into the console and stream would be a game changer, maybe a GT7 daily races killer. it's a bit of a headache having to jump onto the website to register for a race or to buy setups etc
I can’t ever get a good feel for ACC. My steering always feels weird like super loose until it is not . I don’t know if it is just the CSL elite or if other fanatec users have similar issues on the PS5. But this is my biggest reason for not playing ACC other than that I would love to try these races.
@ironicmonkey, have these settings on GT7 with the CSL elite and turns out they felt alright on ACC too. SEN: Auto FF: 100 DRI: -03 FEI: 50 FOR: 120% SPR: 100% DPR: 100% BLI: off SHO: off In game settings GT7: max torque 4 sensitivity 2 In game settings ACC: default… for now 🤷♂️ explore other setup online and adjust the tires tho, like mowgli said.
From a gt7 console player who seen acc popping up now and then but not seeing console support its now pushing console . Great , lots of positives from what i see, lots of out of my comfort zones too , tire set ups etc but willing to learn . Loving the stewards reporting so hopefully, everyone races clean . Ill gladly buy the game when i see it getting fully console friendly, reluctant for the game pass monthly payments , thats alot of money to most gamers to pay . After purchasing game , paying for psn etc , but if they continue to support console players and we get great racing then maybe its someting ill look into . Alot to take in going from gt7 as in tire preassure and temps , didnt see much lessons or tips apart from guys who already raced in pc mode . Over all my 2 pence is , looks great , about time acc finally getting console time , not willing to pay extra monthly subscriptions at the moment , but could be turned, overall I'm pretty excited to see where this goes and looking forward to trying before I commit
So far the quick races are all at 3:00 pm ( in game time) and have an ambient temperature of 17c so you can set up a single player practice with the same conditions and do your tyre temps/ car setup there. Unless you’re a seasoned driver, just jumping into one of these races with no preparation or experience with ACC is probably not the smartest thing to do and likely to ruin not only your race but for others around you.
Agree, somehing I've mentioned in my latest video where as it's teh same settings you can get close offline and then hopefully be ready when you go online.
I've been watching the launch of Simgrids on console with great interest. It looks really good to me (I'm some way from being ready to jump in myself) Hopefully the effort involved in signing up and setting up will put off the dirty and lazy/incompetent drivers 🤞
Hey tidgney, thx for your video, which is really on time for me, because i just considered building up a game pc only for acc, basically. Just one question: does the fanatec dd pro(i mean the wheel not the base) completely work with acc?
Thank you for this and another great video. I’ve only got console and struggled with ACC but this gives me a little more determination to try coming to terms with it. How does it compare to playing on PC?
I want to dig down more into it to be honest to really get a good feel of the difference between PC and PS5. It does feel a tiny bit different, but not hugely.
Not long until Assetto Corsa Evo launches, so this service might be coming at a good time with the chance to pick up console players for that game too and a broader range of content options.
Hoping Kunos have learned from AC/ACC and build in a more GT7/IRacing type online racing system for all into AC Evo. No need for a 3rd party to make it work. If they want to seriously take on iRacing that's a minimum.
I don't but that's because I'm not playing LFM Dailies much. If I was playing them each week I would support the site with a voluntary donation each month.
First off, thank you the video. On the other hand, on my ACC console on ps4 has absolutely no FFB at all. Gain 100% wheel 100% and still nothing. Any ideas what I should do? I did order my psvr2 yesterday and the adapter, so I may by all means purchase acc on steam, I have AC, RR, & ams2. Which are freaking awesome w/ffb. Would you like to point me in some kinda direction? Thanks a bunch. Cheers.. I'm also gonna check out simgrid as well. Looks like fun, thanks 4 the headsup.
Hmmm it would depend on the wheel to be honest. Have you tried googling to see if someone with the same wheel has the same issue? I don't use to much FFB so it's not a problem I ever have
looks cool, on ps4/5 I could never find too many online races. I have no clue about setups but at least there's 3 presets to choose from. My question is: Do you have to own all the tracks to race on them online? Do I have to register with simgrid? I wish ACC had their own dailies it wouldn't have to be so complicated.
This is looking good, I may give this a blast this week as I'm off work 😀 I get what you mean with the races being too quick but I guess those are just to get a feel for the game and just have fun, but you could have setups ready to load up from ones you purchased or through ones you've saved already, through other races on and offline ! So Quick race - totally free, as many as you like, different track per race so basically random ! Mini Enduro - Wednesday and Weekends, requires 3 Quick races to access, 1st race of day free, after that Grid pass required = $5.99 is about £4.75 Proving grounds - 2 free races then a Grid pass But does the Grid pass cover both Mini Enduro and Proving Grounds races ? Or separate cost ?
It's a 3rd Party running this, it isn't ACC themselves. I'm sure if SimGrid was offered the opportunity to appear on the main menu they would happily accept it!
so its only private lobbies like in gt7 ? looks way to complicated to get into the race, I bet most of ppl wont even bother to figure that out and gonna play with ai..
More like Daily Races from GT7. As it's an external group organising the races the setup is a bit involved but not hard. Then entering for races is again a bit more than GT7, which has it all int he game, but not a deal breaker. I prefer the driving in ACC and do play a lot offline as I couldn't commit to a League and the Public Lobbies from what I've heard can be even worse the lower lobbies on GT7 because ACC expects more of the driver. With this I can jump in do a race or 2 in an even when I can and from everything I've seen the driving standards are higher than ACC Public Lobbies and in many cases on a par with GT7 This is even before the SimGrid rating system has had enough race data from the players to give a very accurate rating. Like if you start GT7 on a new account you're down the lower lobbies being punted but move up. Same here. The more who play SimGrid the better the matching will be.
This very well could lure me away from GT7. I'm so tired of getting punted or pit-maneuvered for passing clean. I can't get out of the B lobbies because I take DR hits for other people driving poorly. GT7 is fun but incredibly frustrating as well. Just wish I could port my R8 liveries over to ACC! LOL
My biggest fear is that a bunch of GT7 players will jump into this and bring the GT7 "standards" into these races. I do doubt they will do it for long since it's not a "jump in a car and race" situation and given all the whining and crying when PD lets you do a "setup", I can't see GT7 players put the effort into learning to drive in an actual sim.
I just did the jump from GT7 to ACC: Absolutely everything in ACC promotes proper driving/racing tecnique. A GT7 mindset will get you nowhere. The stereotypical GT7 frame is “drive it like you stole it”. In ACC it is “drive it like own it and can not afford one single trip to the repair shop”. I love it!😊
in AC ppl behave better, cause the cars are more stable, like in real life, unlike arcady gt is, made for the controller. also in gt releasing 30% of the pedal in full speed it still goes at full speed :D everything is done for the controller and the controlls of wheel and pedal just put on top.
If you're new to acc do not try to jump straight into the online races!!! Do the full career mode first before you do anything else!!!!!! Otherwise you'll end up ruining everyone else's day and ratings and will delete the game cos you think it's no good!!!! Plus you're ratings all go up to the max you know all the tracks you know the car handles you know how to pit and setup and get used to avoiding other cars driving side by side , the rain the cold the night the control setup just everything.....
Definitely going to give this a go. Enjoy ACC but the online part has always been so bad on console. Always ended up back on GT. Just concerned about setups 🫤 Will standard aggressive be good enough???
I think aggressive setup is a good starting benchmark to be honest with you. You can also google some setups which is what I've done. I'll try provide the google setups on my website at some point to help.

Search for some wheelbase settings online, and then the ACC wheel settings and then finally make sure that your in game tyre temp is 26-27 psi

Grid placement is based on simgrid rating. The higher you are the higher up the grid you start
Oooo ok, I was told random initially but this does make sense!
26.7 psi is the new metta tire limits. changed with update 1.9
On PC (I realise this is on console) we race between 26.8 and 27.0 we find best.
