SHOUT OUT JOHN RED SHEA FROM SYDNEY CITY AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺
I've read the book 3 time's, every couple years I pick it up and every time, I can't put it down. You gotta love red Shea, and the honor he carries himself with
Was close with Johnny right when he was 1st released from prison. He was a few years older than me and NOT to be messed with I’ll say that much. He was still in that “drop of a hat” mindset, just looking to tear a head off, and looking back it was probably such a hard adjustment for him going “away” for that long so young. He has a good heart I can testify to that and if your his friend he will protect you and give you the shirt off his back! Simple maybe yeah, but no dummy! I imagine he lives with a lot of regret. Good dude tho. I’d love to bump into him again.
He's a punk dope dealer, shaken down by Whitey and Weeks ppl. He might bust somebody in the head, but he was no Leutinent of Bulger. Whitey was a sick, serious killer.
His boxing coach Tommy Connors holds the fastest knockout in Boston Garden history.
Wow- did not know that!
I read his book & ANY guy who can still live by his principles & NOT rat when everyone else rats DESERVES TOTAL RESPECT 👍🤫😇
" WELL FUCKING DONE RED , YOUR A REAL MAN " 😎🏴🇮🇪🥊
You should read "A Kid From Southie"; it is a young adult book.
Hey golden deer, I'm thinking about starting a youtube channel on true crime and things of that nature. I love Red Shea, I have his book and read it 3 times. I would love to interview him for my channel, can you please recommend how I can go about contacting Red to ask for an interview??

Best of luck boss- Conor Holway
@@GoldenDeerProductions thank you Conor, I'm going to reach out to him !! Great interview that you did with him by the way
@@jameshoch4306 for sure bro- keep hustling
According to Kevin Weeks who was one of Bulgers main guys, John Shea was not one of Bulgers lieutenants or even a member of his gang. John was a drug dealer that Weeks and Bulger shook down. Seems like a lot of people exaggerate who they were or how important they. Mark Silverman is another person who says he was in Bulgers crew but wasn't.
thanks for this!
Yes, agreed.
John gets used, and believes what he's told from a hack crew.
Sad to see this as John struggles to speak like a solid guy, granted he took way too many punches in the ring.
He still has wrong mentorship, but thank God the old gang are washed up.
John is going to realize one day that ya can't live as a has been without actually living the life,
Prison or not., Real gangsters just fade away...
I remember him as a young kid from billies pizza days, and no, I never did the baddie either, no matter what anyone thinks or believes.
"What is generally believed, is most often the opposite of truth."
That for you John....
The Independent.
Red comes across simple to some but is far from it in my opinion. Great interview, well done.
Agreed my brother! Thank you for watching.
@@GoldenDeerProductions You're most welcome :)
Really would like to see his book turned into a movie
Likewise!
This dudes book was ridiculous! Let him tell it he was the hardest gangster in the streets and in prison.
John's memoir was a sad story of a deluded narcissist. He has never shown any remorse for his bullying and hubris. He's obviously an intelligent and capable man. But John betrayed his gifts by adopting the twisted morality of a vain drug dealing leech. Would it harm him now to admit he sold his soul to evil?
Stamp of a friend of mine definitely irish blood in him
Thanks for checking in!
Wow selling your people out and calling them racist. That is so messed up
Would love to have seen Micky Ward and Red Shea go the rounds….
Would have been sick!
Micky would win no doubt. He's waaay more accomplished and went way farther. I believe Shea only had a few people fights? Been awhile since I read his book
Hearing the interview now, they did fight. As kids.
