Could you explain the halo mic more?

Robert Cohen I would be happy to. Are you asking about how it is constructed or how it is used?

Good Sounds constructed. I am going into the 3rd year of mixing for my high school musical and I think it’s time to try and change some things up for the better and this is something that caught my attention.

@@robertcohen1703 The construction is very simple. If you see in the video at 5:23, you will see the knot that is tied behind the mic element with a piece of cord elastic. I tie the elastic cord to the mic cable behind the element. Then I place the element at the top of my forehead and pull the mic cable around one side of my head and the elastic cord around the other side and bring them back together in the center of the base of my skull. When I pull the elastic around my head, I gently stretch it so it is a snug fit against my head. Where the cable and elastic come together in the back is where I tie them both together again. This creates a "headband" or "halo" type of shape that can easily be adjusted to someone's head. We also use floral wire to wrap around several inches of the mic cable starting at the mic element so it has some rigidity and can allow you to bend and shape and position the mic element in the proper location on the actor's head. I hope that helps you.

Good Sounds is their a specific kind of knot you would suggest to tie behind the element and further down on the cable?
