    I have just recently discovered your videos. I have also been a scrapbooker for about 15 years. Yet, you have taught me so much. You have re-inspired me to go back to using stamps and if you can believe it I have never used a kit before. I bought my first one last week and what a joy to use. No more spreading paper out to see what goes best together. I loved it. I am excited and inspired and so are my friends who I introduced to your videos. Thank you so much. Keep on making videos.

      Hello, your comment made me smile. I’m so happy I have inspired you to use your stamps more. Stamps are so fun and easy to customize for your projects. Kits are great aren’t they? The color coordination is one of my favorite things about CTMH. Having everything match and the patterned papers already put together makes it so much easier. I used to stand in the paper isle at the craft store just staring. The kits are so helpful! Thank you for sharing my channel with your friends and for taking the time to leave this comment.

    I just found your videos recently and love the work you do. On this layout, am I the only one who found the line across the bottom distracted my eye away from the layout? Curious what others think about it to help me with my own layouts. Otherwise, I think the layout was just perfect! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and talent!

    • @CraftyConceptswithErin
      @CraftyConceptswithErin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much, I am glad you are enjoying the layouts and videos. I know what you mean about the strip along the bottom potentially pulling the eye, if you feel it is drawing your focus away then go with your instinct and initial reaction and omit that part. Some moved the strip to the top of the layout while others may have left it off all together. This original layout had a large title floating along the bottom, I didn't care for that design and switched it up. I do love how we can alter elements to suit our own taste and best tell the stories behind our photos.

    Love your sweet layout, the colors are beautiful. Thanks also for the info for printing from my phone. I like the phone editing app
    better than the editing on my iPhoto. I just need to figure all that out with my phone. Do I just connect my phone to the computer to print one photo?

      Hello Nori, when I am printing directly from my phone in the Print to Size app, it Blue Tooth communicates with the printer and by passes my desktop all together. Love this layout. I have the same printer you have. I was glad to hear what app you use to resize photos. I downloaded Print to Size on my iPhone and tried it. The quality of the smaller photos are great if I just use 4x6 paper, but when I tried using 5x7 paper and resized four photos to 2.5 x 3.5 to fill that paper, the print was terrible quality. Have you had any luck doing that? Or do you stick with 4x6 paper?

    • @CraftyConceptswithErin
      @CraftyConceptswithErin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is very interesting, I have not tried that yet but now I am curious as to why it would change the quality. I print a 2.5 x 3.5 on a 4x6 and save the ends for printing 2x2 pics so it isn't wasting as much.

  • @stampbooker
    @stampbooker 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Erin, this is perfect! Thank you for taking the time to show us what you do before you video! love all the tips! Love how you make the workshops work for your photos! one question: to get the white borders on your photos, are you making your photo a 3.75x5.75 for a 4x6? I’ve downloaded that app that you recommended and can’t wait to try it out! Also, I have a Mac, but have only always printed to my PictureMate from my phone 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m going to try out iPhoto

    • @CraftyConceptswithErin
      @CraftyConceptswithErin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m glad you enjoyed the tips and hope they work for you. In iPhoto I can set the paper size to 4x6 borderless or just 4x6. The second option automatically adds the white border. In the print to size app it actually won’t let me print a true 4x6. There is a dotted borderline around the perimeter. If you drag the photo to fit within that dotted line you will get the white border. I hope that makes sense.

    Erin, about how many photos can you print with one box of inks? I'm considering this printer, but want to crunch the numbers first. Thanks in advance for your response!

    • @CraftyConceptswithErin
      @CraftyConceptswithErin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Laurie, great question. The reviews averaged around 100 4x6 photos per cartridge. I find I am getting at least 80 consistently but up to 95. If you seldom print, inks can dry up over time reducing your print volume but I print fairly often. I also print on glossy paper in the highest quality. I know many feel having photos printed outside of the home is less expensive but the flexibility outweighs the cost for me. Additionally I only print what I scrapbook so that saves me money in the long run also. If I sent them out I'd likely print way more not knowing ahead of time what my plan was. I hope this was helpful. Happy crafting!

    Could you suggest embellishments for "boy" pages besides flowers and boots.

    • @CraftyConceptswithErin
      @CraftyConceptswithErin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Charlotte, as a mom of two rugged teenage boys I know boy layouts can be more challenging. My embellishments do depend on the theme of the layout but some of my go to’s for boys are arrows, stars, hexagon and or circle shapes. Gears and metal elements are always good too. Wood grain patterned paper is a great neutral that can be added to almost any paper pack and is perfect for boys. I do have a scrapbooking boys playlist on my channel where you can pick up some ideas too. I’d love to hear your boy layouts ideas.

    What photo paper do you use and recommend for home printers?

    • @CraftyConceptswithErin
      @CraftyConceptswithErin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question, it depends on your printer. I am a big fan of Epson and use the Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy. I do find that if you have a Canon printer for example, the canon photo paper works better. I've tried printing on HP paper that had been given to me and the results were not great. Perhaps it would work better with an HP printer, but I don't recommend it.
