Never can kill a Spirit like his
Peter Gabriel is a very courageous and powerful artist! This song had to be made!!! I can't imagine being beaten to death!! Basically murdered by police in their custody!! Patrice Lumumba, George Floyd, Rodney King, and Stephen Biko, Nelson Mandela Rest in Justice!!
We have not forgotten the atrocities committed against all of you by the corrupt, cowardly police/military!!! In 2020, really nothing has changed!!
BUT, THE FIGHT AND STRUGGLE CONTINUES!!
They are so stupid. By doing their stupid actions, they created a martyr. They will go to HELL for their actions.
Amen🙏❤️🙏
I still weep uncontrollably whenever I hear this song.
Peter Gabriel, un grand monsieur, respect ❤❤❤
Peter Gabriel - ever ahead of his time.
Such a powerful song that will echo thru the ages
Never ever forget Biko speaks for all mankind ongoing ! You can blow out a candle ? But you can’t blow out a FIRE THAT FIRE THAT BURNS IN ALL OF US IS “ STEVEN BIKO” Let Freedom Reign!
Amazing Song
When they can do this to a man who advocated peace they could do it to anyone. RIP Steve Biko. And every other person who has died for peace.
So be it! For the sake of humankind!
People who have sought peace in violent times, usually get gunned down. MLK was one that you first think of. Biko should be remembered for going against the grain for his country's sake in the throes of corruption. Still, racism is something that you're born into, doesn't belong here, but thrives. R.I.P. This part of history is ignored by many and is rarely ever mentioned in high school textbooks. You can't bring out the black's perspective if one unexperienced; misunderstood is writing.
When they can't control you with their violence and hatred, they hate you even more. Never stop trying to change the world with non violence.
Another commenter made the greatest observation: Hate killed Biko, but love keeps him alive. That would apply to all pacifists/humanitarians who were murdered working for peace/a better way.
I always choke up and tears fill my eyes when i hear this song
Such a tribute to a great black man. It just goes to show, even Peter cares for all colors. Honor to you, Peter! And to Stephen Biko.
41 years ago today, September 12, Pretoria, South Africa
And the world is still plagued with injustices, oppression, racism.
Let us not be indifferent to it.
Let us not be...!
So true.Nothing has changed.,and nothing will. That's the sad part
Truer words were never more spoken
Why , the mankind, do not learn !! Again so much hate all arround the world . Mainly becaus of only 1 reason “ fucking dollars”!!😡😡
