Guys I figured it out!
Mario died on the 31st of March.
And Sonic died on the same date.
But on the same date, Mario's collection of the three best games ever couldn't be purchased anymore. While Sonic had an entirely original, fully playable free game.
This confirms it. Sega does what Nintendon't.

What I love is how this really sounds like the music for something called the Mirage Express.
The percussion and baseline really put me in mind of a train engine working and chugging along the track. Meanwhile the melody has this really dreamy quality, like something you’d pair with a neon sunset background.
It’s really good.

We need to let Sonic Social team make more games this was such a fun little game. I wanna see what else they can do! Wonder if they could do a small-scale Sonic RPG visual novel kinda thing. That might be fun.

I LOVE THIS SONG SO GOSH DARN MUCH
Its so uplifting! Its so happy! But its also so epic! I love how both narratively (what barry and sonic are doing in that moment of the game) and gameplaywise you were going through where youve already been
And then top it off with an epic conclusion! This finale felt REALLY right. It wrapped up everything the game had going for it super well.
And I lovethis soooong its so MAGICAL!
This game was a surprise, I enjoyed it a lot.

Hyper Potions make great final boss music, this has a similar energy to I'm With You from Sonic Frontiers.
Ngl it does have that vibe.
I just finished this game for the first time. I loved everything, but I was not expecting this Final Boss to hit me so hard! Sonic bursting through all the previous cars to save his friends and the Conductor, and music coupled with the Train's emotional breakdown, it really got me in the feels.
After completing Frontiers, I really that positive energy! Two amazing games for Sonic in a short period of time.

i always loved the 2000s era of sonic, when sonic team was throwing shit at the wall, just making whatever game came to mind, but filled with so much passion and fun and love you could feel it oozing out of every tiny detail. and it's _back!_

This song reminds me of another sonic song for some reason i just can’t put my finger on it, 0:43 sounds a lot like egg reverie but I can’t think of the rest
It's the final boss Big Arm theme from Sonic 3. There's a ton of musical overlap between the two. I heard it too.
The bit that follows that reminds me of Star Dream Phase 3 from Kirby Planet Robobot ("Vagrant Counting Song of Retrospection" is the exact theme) for some reason. Might just be the instrument or something like that.
0:23 sounds like the S&K miniboss music.

I wouldn't say the game itself is better than Frontiers... But the final boss is ABSOLUTELY 100% BETTER THAN FRONTIERS, I CAN SAY THAT WITH CERTAINTY, HOLY SHIT THEY WERE COOKING WITH THIS ONE, POOR FRONTIERS WITH THE HALF ASSED, RUSHED FINAL BOSS AND MOMENTS 😭
Hopefully Update 3 fixes everything and we'll finally have 2 peak Sonic games in the same year...
Frontiers has longer gameplay and offers more content, but TMOSTH is a unique experience for a Sonic game. Also the final boss is better.
You know, it kinda bugs me how the issue with the train was resolved in the worst way possible, outright killing it, and then they show the bird free at the end as if it's somehow okay because of it.
Kinda reminds me of what they pulled with E-102y
