I've lazily dabbled in piano off and on for like 8 years and still can't play anything longer than a 20 or so seconds and only if both hands have the same rhythm. I recently started actually sitting down for hours at a time and trying to learn some songs but I still haven't been able to play anything with hand independence yet. TH-cam recommended this to me after a few weeks of drooling over Rousseau and Mariovereher and not only was I amazed by how beautiful it is, but I looked at the difficulty level and thought, "I might actually be at a level decent enough at this point to be able to pull this off." After two weeks of practicing for at least two hours every day, I can finally play the first 1:07 of this song without flaw (other than my over-reliance on the sustain pedal). It may not seem like much to advanced players, but this is the proudest I've ever been of anything I've done musically. Thank you so much for uploading this.
This was played as a guitar cover on The Last Of Us 2. It's such. Beautiful rendition of an already great song (I reccommend giving it quick watch if you haven't already). Which is what brought me to finding this video. Im in the exact boat as you skill wise. I found it so hard to coordinate both hands together, but enough practice It just clicked for me. I plan to learn this by the time I go away on deployment, in a few months and play it for my daughter :)
I've had the same exact problem, sometimes you just need to let a song rest that is too difficult for you and focus on finishing some other songs first. Eventually you will stumble on that song again and you will find it easier to play it, which is a great motivation. I tried to olay this song like 2 years ago but only could play like the first 30 seconds, last year i watched it again, tried it, and it went better than ever
I did do a bit of experimenting with the pedal; it seems to be louder on mobile than when I was listening through speakers, but my original intent was to have more present, give it a more acoustic feel.
