- Bachelor gorillas Charlie, Kekla, and Stadi hunt for sugar-free Jell-O eggs in a seasonal highlight of Zoo Atlanta’s robust enrichment program. The bachelors offer a sneak peek of the fun in store when Taz’s family group hunt for eggs on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Gorilla Habitat 3.
What a great idea! This is a fun way to stimulate the gorillas with a different activity, and rewarding them with a tasty treat. So well thought out too, by using sugar free jello, it is better for their teeth as well as their diet. Thank you for taking such good care of these gentle giants, they are truly magnificant creatures. ❤️

I like how they are capable of stuffing a dozen eggs in their mouth at a time, but choses to take little itsy bitsy bites in order to savor each delicious piece. 😋Yum

Jell-O eggs? Traditional Jell-O isn't vegetarian, so how does it support a high-fiber, natural diet for them?
They didn't say that, they said "high fiber low starch diet".
@@terrible1736 The popular Jell-O isn't high in fiber to my knowledge; and unless they are using one of the plant-based options, it isn't in line with the herbivorous diet of gorillas.
Once a year at Easter isn’t that big a deal. Western lowland gorilla are herbivores, like elephants for example, but will still eat bugs. Termite mounds are a delicious treat when they find one in the wild.
