- A retrospective of the twins time at Zoo Atlanta.
Mei Lun and Mei Huan, the first surviving pair of giant panda twins ever born in the U.S., departed Atlanta on November 3, 2016, for the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China. In one of the most important milestones in the life of an American-born panda, the twins, now 3 years old, follow in the footsteps of their older siblings and journey to their parents’ birthplace.

I'll miss Mei Lun & Mei Huan so much!!
I'll never forget how they chase & prevent each other from climbing up to the highest point of the wood log scaffolding; how they fought for the hammock, squeezed into it & pushed one another out; or how they kept returning to the big playroom each time after Lun Lun physically taking them out at the end of the day & exhausted their mom!!! And most interestingly & surprisingly, how Mommy Monster pushed them down the high logs & forced them to climb back up again & again ! ( It's part of Lun Lun's training strategy for their motor skills & "early childhood education" !! )
Above all, watching these panda twins grow & play with their mom have made me wish to join in their great fun-filled activities that sparkle with endless energy & carefree happiness!!! Their growing up process demonstrate how humans could make the best out of their childhood , no matter what the external circumstances are!!!
