This is a good theory and I completely understand where you are coming from with this, however I have a slightly different opinion on the rattler. See, it could be that the rattler is a sort of redesign of something Zardy would want for his 'army'. He supposedly mentions this in some dialogue, where he states he needs something that would be good at gardening, which like you said, the rattler's hands are claw-like and are possibly sharp enough to cut the weeds. Which, personally, I think that is pretty skilled. Another thing is that, as mentioned in your video, the rattler has similar features to cablecrow. Such as, some parts of the body being wooden (I assume), their hands being razor-like, their arms being able to extend. If anything, cablecrow could be another example of some sort of 'robot'. And lastly, on the topic of robots, I do not think that rattler would be one of them. The rattler in itself, despite having similarities to cablecrow, is unique, yet so are almost every other character. I believe that this could just be a continuation of this theme of the characters being unique, and that it could possibly be based off of a dummy. This is because of many points such as it's appearance, it's behaviour and the fact it, well, rattles! Linking back to my first point, the rattler could possibly have been a test dummy for what Zardy was looking for. This would make sense due to the rattler's features and/or appearance, the fact it looks so 'robot-like', or as I would say, 'dummy-like'. (By this I mean the doll kind of dummies, like a test dummy.) Now, I could very well be wrong, but hey, the rattler could just be another member of Zardy's crew and both our theories could be thrown out the window!! Hopefully we'll learn more in ZM2.
(P.S. the rattler is literally so adorable I wanna squish him he's so cutie patootie is it possible to adopt the rattler because I want one)
