- ◆ Moebius/ Mœbius, aka, Gir, aka, Jean Henri Gaston Giraud was a French artist, cartoonist, and writer who created a wide range of science-fiction and fantasy comics in a highly imaginative, surreal, almost abstract style. He collaborated with Alejandro Jodorowsky for the infamous comic book series The Incal and an unproduced version of Dune. Mœbius also contributed storyboards and concept art to science-fiction and fantasy films, Alien, Tron, The Fifth Element, and The Abyss. He created the Blueberry series, Arzach, etc.

Moebius was also a big inspiration for manga artists in the early 1980s. Hayao Miyazaki loved Arzach and drew fanart using a very good imitation of Moebius' style. Arzach was also a key inspiration for Miyazaki's Nausicäa of the Valley of the Wind. Not only did Moebius love Nausicäa when he saw it, he became lifelong friends with Miyazaki, drew his own fanart of Nausicäa, which is shown at 3:05, and even named his daughter after her.

The Airtight Garage was what introduced me and all my American friends to Mobius via Heavy Metal in the mid 70s . Not big on The Incal or the Bluberry stuff but The Airtight garage was during Jean's peak Marijuana years and is a direct pipe into his wild world and trippy art at its best. All the other story's bend his wild art to the storyline but Jerry Cornelius and Arzach are ground zero mobius .
i would toned down music a little bit on intro, but overall cool nontheless. I like approach and passion.

The best part of Moebius' universes is that it's all real.
Don’t understand why you have just 11k views , the effort you have put it this is fantastic ( the music is a little overbearing however ) but you’re the perfect cyberpunk woman , beautiful and unique.

I love this video and its celebration of Moebius, but I do feel compelled to point out that as influential as he was, he was also part of an overall trend that included artists like Jean-Claude Mézières. In fact, The Fifth Element owes a lot more to the art of Mézières than it does to Giraud with much of its art design ripped straight from Mézières' Valerian and Laureline series. Besson's inspiration from Mézières was later further evidenced by his live action adaptation of the graphic novel.

The Incal is without doubt the best comic in history. And Moebius the best comic artist ever.

Also don't forget "The airtight garage" this was one of his best comic because he showed plenty of different approaches to comic art, different drawing styles and also, it's very particular, because he drew couple of pages every month forcing himself to forget what he did in the previous episode, yet the story as a whole has its meaning anyway.
Do the editor have anything against the hosts voice? I wonder, because I could barely hear it underneath the LOUD NOISE MUSIC.

Fifth Element are Base after Valerian Circles of Power Mezziere eashead artist and Movie base on Valerian books try trad those and will understand for Mezziere and Mobeus went to art school together and Valerian first book came out 1967 and Are Besson Favourite Scifi serie and are In that Was Late in movie Mezziere and Pierre Christin can look up Valerian and Lauraline are Really good and Fun action and lot 8f movies are Steal from there's albums like Star Wars and so on
