I worked at a gourmet coffee shop when I was studying for my master's degree a long time ago. When we made iced coffee, we filled the cup with ice right over the top then poured hot coffee over it. So if you look at it that way, it's not all coffee. Look at your Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee cup Jae. You can see right through it. If it was their hot coffee, you couldn't see through it. I know what you mean about a good cup of coffee. The difference between a cheap cup and gourmet is that cheap coffee is made from robusto beans and shaken from the trees by machines and bruises then. They are a cheaper type of bean. Gourmet coffees like Dunkin' Donuts and McDonalds are made from arabica beans which are higher quality beans that are hand picked. Robusto has lower acidity and higher caffeine than arabica, but arabica has a sweeter smoother taste because of it. Just a trivia note: The only state in the U.S. that grows coffee is Hawaii....Kona coffee (it's expensive, but awesome!). :)

If you have insomnia, cut back on the coffee or tea unless they’re decaf. Especially at night before sleep. I’m pretty immune to caffeine but even I have to cut back sometimes due to acid reflux. The health benefits of coffee and tea diminish once you mix it with milk and sugar, so try to drink it plain. I love making pour over coffee at home and Oolong tea is my favorite.

I've actually cut back on coffee recently. I used to drink 3 or 4, 24 ounce cups throughout the day, but now I limit myself to 1 or 2, 8 ounce cups. I used to have such a caffeine rush that I would be up all night (didn't help my insomnia) and I was sometimes noticing my heart speeding up that I didn't associate with my coffee use until I cut back and noticed it stopped.
It's been 5 minutes who thumbed this down? People 😒

Iced coffee is iced coffee. Iced americano is water plus espresso. Long black is just a fancy word for an americano run long (usually a stronger flavour). I have been a barista at "hipster" cafes for six years.
If you're like me and Jae and you're allergic to regular milk and soy milk (or if you're vegan), try almond milk coffee creamer! I love it! Or if you want a milk that is just as thick as regular milk, try oat milk! It is very popular.

the reason they’re claiming coffee can be “less likely to develop heart failure” is bc coffee is a diuretic (it makes you pee). Heart failure is when the heart cannot pump correctly so there is a buildup up fluid in the body. treatment for symptoms of heart failure is to give a diuretic such as Lasix. i wouldn’t recommend coffee to replace a diuretic medication tho and the LAST thing you want is for your heart rate to increase from the caffeine -which is why heart failure patients automatically gets put on 2 different kinds of blood pressure lowering meds....that article is kind of far fetched - coming from a Pharmacist that graduated from a top 5 university.

I know I'm years behind, but my family LIVES off coffee, but a lot of us deal with acid reflux so we can't have most kinds without feeling sick. When we visited my family in Argentina, however, we noticed the coffee over there is not acidic at all. We've been having ours shipped from Argentina ever since.
So yeah, if you like coffee but have acid reflux, there's that lol.

I like "good" coffee but do not have a sufficiently elevated palate to appreciate (nor want) gourmet coffee. I think my first taste of what I call good (and gourmets call merely "decent") coffee was Eight O' Clock Bean many many years ago. Before Starbucks became a thing, so a long time ago. Starb's "Pike Place" drip coffee is good enough for me.

About adding water to acid thing, I think it's because acidic is a property which has a lot concentration of Hydrogen ion and if you add water in it, it doesn't really change because water is neutral. Anyway just guessing, i may wrong

Is iced Americano in Korea actually iced espresso with water and ice? Because that would be why your american iced coffee tastes different. American iced coffee is usually just brewed coffee with ice rather than espresso!
Here in Japan, iced Americano is espresso with water and ice.
Brewed coffee with ice would be iced coffee.
