"PATHETIC Lack Of Sentence Was Disgraceful!" | Isabel Oakeshott Fumes Over Ex-BBC's Huw Edwards

  • Rules for reviewing “unduly lenient” sentences should be expanded to cover more crimes, London’s victims’ commissioner has said in the wake of Huw Edwards’ suspended sentence.
The former BBC newsreader received a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, on Monday after he admitted possessing indecent images of children.
The fact he was not sent to prison immediately has drawn criticism from some quarters but there is no way to change his sentence.
Isabel Oakeshott argues that disgraced BBC presenter Huw Edwards' trial for child abuse image offences "should not have been held in a Magistrates Court".
"That pathetic lack of a sentence was absolutely disgraceful!"

In 1998 I got a £70 fine for visiting a pub I was barred from. The magistrate said this amounted to harassment. Huw Edwards gets nothing.

When I worked in a prison we had 27 child sex offenders, including 2 magistrates,
3 police officers, 2 teachers, and a priest. All of them blamed their mental health which
appears to be the magic get-out-of-jail card for paedophiles these days.

@tutortony8615 - Which just goes to prove that a whole new way of trying to handle
certain 'realities' needs to be thought through, understood, and put in place!
... Will a prison sentences ever 'cure' certain deviants? 🤔

The magistrates court was not competent to deal with this case. The public need protection and proper investigation into the entire background of what has been going on. Also why the law itself is inadequate. So should have been crown court at least.
The magistrate has himself should be investigated for competence and why he was fawning over Edwards.

Where the worst kind of people who pray on children walk free and people who shout at police dogs get jail. Any normal person who creates such a topsy-turvy justice system would not be able to sleep at night. Of course you would have to have a concience to be affected by such decisions.
