Fun fact : if you watch the choreography from the top, the formations actually make up constellations/zodiac signs ( i dont remember exactly which one it is )
You're right, Oh My Girl does kind of have like 2 sides they show, the Bright Fun side with the bouncy feel good songs, then they have this magical Etherial side with the slower songs that makes you feel like you're getting your soul cleansed. And Mimi is definitely and under-appreciated rapper. I think it's because Oh My Girl is seen as a "cuter" group that people don't tend to take rappers amongst these kinds of groups seriously, but Mimi really can spit fire when its needed. I always loved that she has this soft style of rap in songs like "Closer" but then can go hard in other songs like in "Remember Me" and "A-ing"
For your information, when Closer dance practice came out, they got so much attention because of the "Astrological" choreography. Uou can check it out. The choreographer is so smart with that.
when i discovered oh my girl through closer around 2016, it was one of the most fascinating songs ive ever heard and i was obsessed with their vocals and song and all that BUT THE FORMATIONS, FOR SOME REASON THE FORMATIONS FASCINATED ME SOO MUCH I COULDNT STOP WATCH THE CHOREO AND IT WAS JUST SO NEW AND INNOVATIVE TO MY NEW KPOP STAN BRAIN
I really like Oh My Girl and they are one of the few kpop acts I had the opportunity to see live because they came to Brazil and let me tell you, it was amazing. The whole show was incredible since the crowd sang along to all the songs even bsides, but Closer was just magical, god I miss going to concerts... That underwater scene/swimming scene in Liar Liar is something like the saying "keep it down, deep in the ocean so no one couldn't notice" or something like that. So in this scene, the members keeping their secrets about liking the same boy deep in the ocean, so other members couldn't know about it. You see they holding kamera and picture frames that represent memories/memento
Closer takes my breath away and makes me cry, every time; especially the "I promise I won't walk away" line. It's on my list of "do not listen in public" for that reason, lol.
