*pause*, "without a monitor". 10/10
Tru Alpha mentality
I feel attacked
blind people actually use computers without any monitor screens ;)
Honestly, it was missing a dot matrix printer
Had to pause the video to stop chuckling about it.
"Gigachads who do everything in the CLI... without a monitor!" - That slayed me :D
As for remembering docker CLI commands, if you use them often enough you are going to remember. And I did remember when I used docker extensively because often it was the quickest way to achieve what I wanted, and so when you do a software development with containers, every second counts because you are going to be rebuilding and restarting that container hundreds of times a day. Now I don't use it at work, so I've already forgotten most of them. Our memory is like a garbage collector in a high-level languages - it removes stuff that we don't actively need from memory in order to free space for some other things :)
lazygit is great too and if you know the key bindings for one, you’ll feel at home with the other
It works very well in DevOps environments where developers may end up using a configuration that matches deployed environments more than they would normally.
Going to start my homelab soon, this tool and video is a gift. Exactly what I was looking for before getting started.
Unraid?
@@canes4ever162 No, likely ProxMox VE
big fan of your work, thanks for all the help you're providing to the community. much appreciated.
Thanks bob
The creator of this app is an absolute gigachad, he is the same guy behind lazygit and lazyvim
It's great! I've used it on my projects and I'm super satisfied
You got me with the no monitor line. Lol
Awesome tool review. Will pick it up when I get going on my own home lab. Thanks.
Very neat CLI UI. Thanks for pointing it out.
Reminds me of K9s for Kubernetes
Very similar
Yeah, I discovered this one a while back. Very nice resource.
This is something I am interested in. Will review once sober again.
YEAH. Love it. I wish there was a simple UI for Linux that was like this too. Maybe there is and I just haven't found it yet..
What exactly do you want ?
Exactly. More programs like htop and lazy docker. Not a full web server and browser GUI like portainer. Just enough extra functionality to make it useful.
@@Steve_HamburgA simple UI, similar tho this that allows me to see, start, and stop processes running. An area that shows the content of the folder I am in, and an area that's a cli to work in.
Something that looks like it's out of the 70s. Lol.
@@Jwalk9000 btop has some of this
Something like webmin maybe?
I have it installed on 2 Linux servers. Super handy than trying to Google all the commands.
I thought this was giving lazygit vibes finally something of Jesse’s I can contribute to oh wait he does go nvm
It's funny but at one point I did actually have one my Zynq boards running docker, and this board doesn't have any video outputs, with the only two options to communicate to it being a UART connection (better known outside of MCU-FPGA nerdland as "COM port", "serial port" or "console port"), or a network. And since these CPUs are not exactly rockstars in terms on performance, every uCPU counts when running stuff on them, and so a serial console port it was :D
I've only ever launched a docker from command line and have never found a gui that's easy to setup. What UI's do people usually use?
Lazy docker sounds fun
0:25 had me dying 😂
RIP in peace 🙏🏼
Thanks, I will check it out. It remind me of LazyGit which is awesome!
That's sweet. Does it allow to share the host's net with the container? i.e. can you run the container with that option?
I looked at this recently but it's still docker-compose V1. I don't know if V2 is coming
Cool
On Monday I am loading it on all my Docker machines
Looks like you are using powershell and probably even wsl which could be the reason for the browser not working or opening other stuff from lazydocker
great tool, thanks for bring that up, question, it will work with more than one docker host? or we need to install in each of the docker servers?
I'm not a fan of Portainer. I have been using dockly, but will check this out.
Check out dockge by louislam

Without a monitor. lol, 10/10.
All the lazy things have been great . lazy docker, lazy nvim , lazy git lol I guess i'm in love with lazy stuff ?
Is your face popping up for a single frame at 4:18 some sort of weird easter egg?
Yeah I couldn’t stand the thought of my face not being in at least a frame during that scene. Or….editing oopsie.
@@RaidOwl too beautiful to not be displayed
@@RaidOwl i thought that was my monitor flickering
What's that keyboard, it looks mushy and my mushy brain likes.
nah I just like to use the CLI for everything (with a monitor 😞) maybe soon enough I will ditch the monitor cuz it's bloat
Big tru
...without a monitor 😄
do everything is CLI without a monitor PMSL.
Just put the UART wires into your mouth and learn to read the ASCII tingles.

GUI and TUI are better in almost all cases, even the a dev with the fastest fingers gets lazy and/or tired sometimes.
