I cant say I disagree with akin's way of thinking it's his right to live and think that way.. and I also really enjoyed this interview and I trust that akon will keep it real about who he is... these are the type of people you need on your team.. but having all of these wives is another chance to spread diseases its unsanitary... we made rules for food because it helps us not overindulge or keep us in line for what we should do with our bodies.. theres a reason why there's a limit to salt in take, why its suggested to have one wife, why there are traffic lights and signs... had we not come up with this we wouldn't know what is killing our communities so quickly. Nick cannon had all of these woman and maybe they are well taken care of but one of those woman also had aids and what if he wasnt as safe with her and gave all of those woman aids? Marrying woman having unprotected sex then wondering why diseases are spreading so quickly is crazy. As far as a man having all of these issues with one woman is it even more having it with 4 or 5 different woman as well?

Nobody worships Akon in Senegal lol. We're Muslims and polygamy is part of our culture way before Islam arrived. The way he said was kinda weird and I think it was for Americans to understand it, but yeah..
Same, I'm North African and polygamy is looked down upon and I even come from a "modern" Muslim family. We do the "normal" nuclear family. Not 100 kids by 20 different women whom a man will probably visit 2 a year. It's like being the product of divorce without divorce. Dysfunctional. That's why Africa is always behind in things

Polygamy in Islam is 4 women with conditions and not everyone can fulfill them. however in Senegal men marry 9, 10, 15... That is not in Islam, that's haram. And did you hear what he said about nick canon having multiple kids with multiple women outside marriage? The only woman he married was mariah carey whom he got 2 kids with. Nick has now 10 kids outside of marriage. Akon is not a role model. Yes he did great things with supplying electricity to people who need it, but I won't take his words on something that goes against the religion that he claims to follow nor should other people. Africa is a continent with multiple cultures. Just because it is Culturallc acceptable in a place doesn't mean is wright or good for others.
