I just put the Jhebbal Sag paint on my lvl 14 Lian thrall, pulled his armor off and let him do a beat down on the panther, he did it solo, no problem. He beat all 4 bosses.
On one hand great and informative video... On the other hand, wtf was Funcom thinking about this event? With the 24 hour decay time at least twice and with the once per night spawn of the ambushers, that's like a 1 week irl effort without admin powers - and you only get a broken follower, which still seems to be weaker than a good tier 4 thrall...
Thank mate, another very well done and informative video. One thing tho, the decay timer on the Malodorous Grand Champion Lure is now 48hrs. (well it is for me).

Two things I've noticed:
(1) The war paint works on golems.
(2) The best way to destroy that door is with a construction hammer.
Does the construction hammer really do it?
There’s a battering ram inside one of the buildings along the outside wall. It’s leaning against a barrel
Many thanks for this explanation it's very useful as i now know where to focus my attention and also to stock up on those horns.
I really wish that after all these ages are done they set it to rotate so even new players can enjoy the full content.
Otherwise i don't see reasons to return to the game once the updates stop or for new players to stick around for a longer period.
Conan is not a casual game it's becoming a full time job to keep all the info on hand... been playing this since release (well before sunken city) I've changed a few servers over the years and had some down time to play other games.. recently thought I'd go back and give conan another crack... 6 hrs in and I'm over it.. feels like I have to relearn everything I used to know... unfortunately this is the straw that broke the camels back for me.. won't be going back to it again as it's way to overwhelming to try and wrap my head around all the new stuff... Just wanted to say thanks for all the videos over the years WAK you have always been my go to conan guide along with firespark in the early days.. your guides and knowledge of the game is phenomenal.. stay awesome mate all the best ❤❤
With the amount of time these chapters take to make, it doesn't make sense to me to make this feature exist only for chapter 4. It should just be permanently implemented

I have played for over 6 hours and still haven’t come across werehyena hunter
Thanks for the great guide! Can you use thralls at all? Or does the warpaint not work for them? Also, if I do this in single player do I have to wait the full 24 hours in-game for the lure/horn? Or is there some kind of setting I can change to speed things up?

The chapter 4 purge feels less challenging to me. It's like there are fewer npcs/waves. On your stream you thought that killing the slave master stopped the waves of slaves, but I think there are just fewer waves. I built a detached barbican in front of my base and the bomb-head golems went right for that. I think only one got near the base itself. All the meteors landed just outside my treasure room. It seems like they target just outside the max area of the treasure coffers range for placing treasure. They didn't land anywhere else. Thieves are only invisible until they take damage. Just place a cauldron above all your doors and that'll take care of that. I need to test some more, but right now the purge feels disappointing. The new threats aren't much of a threat.
I don't know if you noticed but that first tablet of power you got gave you 60 points not 50.
Hi, sorry for the question, but we went there 3 times and he never gave us anything, 2 times in two once alone, we had the smelly bait in the inventory and on the altar we placed the large bait. Where are we wrong? Thank you
Howdy Wak, thanks for what you do, one question, you mentioned using Thralls in the fight, do they need to be clad in only the War Paint as well to be effective?
Yes they need to be in the buff with the warpaint as well. At least to do the most damage possible.

It's got "odor" right in the middle of the word.

The werewolf never spawns for me. Cant find seem to find one
I’m curious to know if other players would be able to be damaged once naked with war paint on 🤔 or maybe it only damages the champions more. Would be a good test maybe
I was also wondering if it only applied to the champions. If its a flat buff might be worth stocking up on the warpaint and running around everywhere in the nude lol
Great job, comprehensive guide, wak! However, one important question remains: if you go into the boss’s dungeon with your followers, do you need to remove all their armor and apply body paint so that they can deal damage to the boss?

The satchels can also contain fangs, don't leave it behind.

Do you have your stats/attribute points in a recent vid somewhere? I've been an encumbrance build forever, but I don't think that is going to work for this event lol.
Put the Malodoras lure in a composter, I use a thrall with the irritate perk, easy peasy.

Those of you struggling, the rhino mount is honestly meta in pve it can stun lock an enemy by spamming the horn attack just have thralls that can poison and bleed them

Do you unlock the armor as a recipe? Or just straight up buy the armor
Do the thralls you bring with you need to be naked and using the warpaint as well? As a sorc build I don't see myself lasting long against these guys without thrall help.
Have you tried if there is any buff that holds if you use it on another player?
Have you found the food bug for the Ghura the Hunter as a follower? put food in its inventory to see the food vanish.

So I haven't played in a while, will I be able to do content from past Ages/Seasons? Like did they keep a single NPC for each Age they do?
Yes, all base game stuff is still available - then again it depends on what you are referring to. The only NPCs that have been added before this update is the Mercenary Captain you may free from a purge and he is still in game, he should now be a permanent character
For the item timers, does the time run out when offline? I'm guessing not.

If you get followers with you to fight the champions, can they damage the enemy despite not being naked nor bodypainted?
Yes but their damage is greatly reduced just like the player.
Can you apply the body paint to your thralls to make them do more damage.
Yes, Body paint and naked just like the player character.

Does the decay timer speed up if you put it in the composter like hatching eggs? Specifically the horn since you didn't specify if you can remove it from your inventory or not while its decaying.
Yes, I just literally put it in a composter, 1 hour, 15 min

Having trouble with the warehyena can't find him I think I hear his howl every time he leaves in the morning but I can't find him in my area. Any suggestions?

Can you speed up the timer by putting the item into a compost box? Like with snake and spider eggs etc
If I correctly understood, once you have the item in your inventory, you cannot remove it...
Do you have to wait in the desert untill it goes dark for the werehyena to spawn
It seems the Zathite spear if it still does poison would be good against it but in saying this how do thralls go against these beasts?
I took two relic hunters to fight the werebear. We barely made a scratch on him. I lost one of my relic hunters (level 15) and pulled my bracelet before I lost the other. No problem with any of the other 3 bosses: mammoth, rhino, and panther. Any idea what went wrong? We were all no armor, sacred hunt warpaint, max authority, legendary weapons, and buffed up on potions.

I think I figured it out. I lost the buff from the warpaint. One of two things happened. Either the challenger timer ran out, or the potions we used negated the warpaint effect.
Can you have two of the bears as followers if you spec into double thrall? And are they working as intended now? Does anyone know?
I stood in one place all night long then ran home at dawn and I got attacked by 7 total during that time. One at a time. Last one right at dawn as I was reaching my base. My day night cycle is considerably slower, I wonder if this increases the amount of attacks against you...
What if if you stripped your thrall down and give it to our paint?
Is there any benefit to using weapons with the executioner perk?
I don't know would have to test.
A lot of damn work for a giant werebear that seems restricted on leveling. What a grind.
It won't work, but it might make for a fun video if you try the JS body paint and no armor with the undead dragon in Kurak's Dungeon.

How do you get enough fangs for the expensive trades?
Apparently, on xbox you have to be logged in the server for 24 hours for the lure to be ready. I logged off around 22 hours ago yet still have 22 hours left of my timer
Solo game by any chance? If so yeah you do. If you’re on a server I think that’s a bug.

I'm a little confused as to when you make your first encounter with the werewolves. You say "they will spawn around your area" meaning ANYWHERE you happen to be? Or near your base (which base?) I can't seem to find any of them regardless where I go. Also that beacon you see isn't visible to me no matter where I go on the map. I get the feeling this location on the flesh map is near "The Den," so I went there and didn't see any beacons beaming up into the sky. I'm assuming the beacon doesn't appear until after you read the flesh map.
It will all appear after April 2nd. This is the test version of the game right now. They will spawn where you character is at night.

The altar doesnt let me craft anything its blank and I've followed everything you did to a t! Idk what else to do. I've tried restarting and all different kinds of stuff, from validating, reinstalling, ect...

If you have 3 friends that you play this with, here's how to cheese the first 3 encounters
Step 1, set up 3 ballista seige platforss in the area the gunt takes place
Step 2, draw ballistas all the way back and load with bolts. (iron ok, star metal prefered)
Step 3, draw straws to see who acts as bait
Step 4, have your friend set the lure and pull aggro to an open spit in front of the ballistas
Step 5, aim and fire in unison. May need to cock halfway for a second shot if it charges
Step 6, collect gnarled fangs and the monsters token and celebrate
Step 7, after celebrating, realise that you just cheesed a relatively easy encounter and everything else is an uphill battle from here 🤣

Slot 3 black blood pick. Slot 4 breath of the red mother, slot 5 blood moon bow. All are base game items.

Do i need to do something else for that werewolf to spawn and attack you at night? i tried 2 nights now without success, playing solo offline.
IDK You may need to be away from structures. Not sure what else to suggest.
I usually go around with a follower and a horse. It seems to increase the probability compared to when I go solo. But usually you only get one per night. Also I recommend going to an area with few enemies as they can aground to other animals and enemies making them difficult to find.
@@juan0808 Worked after a few days, think it was one of the mods im using that needed to be updated and caused them to not spawn.
Well those fights may be funny but some other changes in that beta are infuriating, like they diminished the aggro radius again and now once the ennemy if 10 meters away from his spawn point he stops the fight goes back and restore completely. It happened many times to me yesterday and it was really annoying. Another problem is that the new interface is nice but now you can't do the shift drag to split to the desired amount that's really lame.
So if we lose that much just to get some boss fight that will get old very quickly, i don't know, i think i will hate it!
Roll to move huh. They should be fixing it before this goes live. They should also fix the Sprint Toggle in the Settings not saving. It keeps removing the Sprint Toggle to no Key Binds in the Movement.

Getting to that fight at Al-Merayah legit is going to be a bitch. Now if you attack any part of that fortress raiders start spawning and attacking your base with fire orbs.

Yes they will same rules as players.

Tbh wak has been doing crossovers with the neebz conan episodes lately.
I like the new event. And the rewards seem okay, though more crafting recipes would be better. Other than improvements to the Purge, I don't see a direct connection to the Age of War.
