WOW!! My first time seeing you guys. The whole process was beautiful! The family, the crop and ending with that precious, baby girl! This old lady from Mississippi gives you all 5 stars!
The tomato non-staking makes perfect sense in my mind. You avoid a costly chore, likely an added headache, plus you have enough tomato plants to account for tomatoes you can't pick due to rot/weather/animal damage. Win-win-win.
Even in my backyard garden, I let a few tomato plants vine out and go where they want. They produce good! I can't imagine staking hundreds or thousands.
I had volunteered tomatoes in my bush years ago. And I didn't realise it until the fruit turned orange and they are good. So letting them be in their natural state does make sense to me.
Hi Andrew. Long time viewer here. I wanted to request that you do an interview with your Dad. It would be very interesting to hear about his experiences working as a farmer on a generational farm with his his family. Let’s here some stories!
I agree. I missed the chance to ask my grandad about how the farm evolved over his life. Really wish I had, would love to hear the veggie grandpa story.
@@theveggieboys Here are some ideas - How he met his wife, Did he want to be a farmer as he was considering his future at about 18? The best/worst thing about being a farmer, Most profitable product you all raise, Best lesson he's learned from farming, Best piece of advice to the average home gardener, Best/hardest part of having a family-run business, What are two or three of the biggest changes he's seen in his lifetime of farming from his early days of farming til now.
Anyone that has ever grown tomatoes or for any veg garden should know it is all very time consuming. KUDOs to you all for all that you grow and harvest. I grow my own food and believe me it is a full time job for one person. God bless you all. Feeding the world.
Grandpa! Your son and family are awsome😘 Glad to get your view on tomatoes as the elder. Getting a "interview" with grandpa would be interesting. Questions about before the boys were born to help and what framing started out.
Callie was so cute when your dad as saying, "Where are my Pants?!!" and waving bye bye. Can totally understand why tomatoes on a larger farm like yours is not stated for a variety of reasons. Your harvest of peppers tomatoes and corn looks beautiful. You guys really work hard both in the fields and in the store.
GUYYS ive been watching yall for a couple of years now and i gotta say. thank you. yall make me so happy even in the worst days. I was happy to hear grandpa still yelling fir his pants and seeing that other andrew hiding in the ears. Much love from kuwait.
What a beautiful wagonload of vegetables. Nature is wonderful, but it takes skilled, dedicated farmers to work with nature to bring that food to our tables. I have learned so much from you. All it took was a kiss from grandpa to bring a smile to Callie's face.
Yeah my family did the same thing with out tomatoes.. I guess people don't realize how larger scale family farms work but you are helping teach people!
The Veggie Boys and Broyans Farm YT channel has always been my favorite YT videos to watch when it comes to family farming. Your videos are always so great to watch!❤️
That wagon full of fresh picked tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers was a beautiful sight and your family is beautiful as well. Wish I lived close to your farmers market so I could enjoy the bounty from your farm.
Callie saying bye bye and pointing out to Grandpa where to find his pants is so adorable. Just imagining the added cost and time to stake those thousands of tomato plants is mind boggling. You'd either spend all your time on that or have to hire a crew to do it. Either way, not cost or time effective. Another great video as always.
hahah - look at you sitting in the sweet corn bucket on the tractor forks getting a ride to the field.......like a big old kid. loved it. gave me a good chuckle.
Here in Spain, most of the tomato plantations are in greenhouses, where they are impaled, but in large plantations they leave the creeping plant, it is the best way, besides, the tomato plant is creeping like the watermelon plant, only that it has always been impaled so people think that the plant does not have to go through the ground. A greeting from Spain.
All those tomatoes reminds me of a little song from the West Indies; 🎶🎵 Way down south where bananas grow ants are stepping on elephant toes elephant sighs with tears in his eyes, and says why don't you pick on someone your size Papa didn't plant much cotton or corn very few potatoes green peas or Lima beans but lord he's got tomatoes. 🍅
I totally agree about this year's peppers being hotter. I've grown Jalapenos and Habaneros for over 30 years. This year's jalapenos are the hottest ones I've ever had. And that's with the same seeds I've used for the last 3 years.

I’ve never seen so many tomatoes on one bush. Wow! Good job guys. I watch you all the time, reminds me of my days on the farm with dad. It’s hard work.
I just canned 25 tomatoes and thought that was a lot then I saw all your tomatoes. Your farm is amazing and the produce is beautiful. I always learn something new when I watch your videos. Thanks for sharing.
one's person crazy is another person's normal way of doing things whatever works for you is best for you watching you all harvest is as relaxing for me as being in my own small garden
I wish I had some of those tomatoes for canning. I was wondering what the variety was and was glad to hear it mentioned. I wish I was near your farm market. I'd visit and purchase something almost daily. Do you ever plant cowpeas? I love those things---especially purple hull peas. Of course, I'm in the south and they are well loved here.
No one I can remember in my grandpa's generation staked tomatoes. I'm 62. I started to see people do it in books or magazines as I grew up and it began to catch on around here but many still don't. I stake most of ours but we have some of ours on the ground. Our worse problem is terrapins (box turtkes) having a snack. I have a small size garden in north central NC. Enjoy your videos. Love the corn.
I'm 70, and ditto. I think that started with people growing urban and suburban gardens in small spaces. I did it due to raised beds, and rot due to soil borne diseases. We used hog wire cages in a triangle with a metal stake in the middle and the whole thing tied together in the middle with strips of old pantyhose. The holes were about 6 inches across and large enough to get your hand through to harvest. The heavy gauge let us use it for many years (I still have some after 30 years), and the triangular formation made it resistant to being tipped over by the wind.
Callie is so cute. Love her smile. That bye-bye wave was great too. I love seeing her grow. Thanks for sharing her with us!! God bless your family from grandma Katie in Oregon
I counted all the tomato plants I planted, 68. All indeterminate, several varieties, and got them in late. Was wondering if I'd get any produce this year! Yesterday I picked a bushel, today a half bushel. So far my favorites are Abe Lincoln and Amish Paste. They're absolutely huge and wonderfully delicious. Let the canning begin!
If your methods that yield all those baskets of beautiful tomatoes make you crazy, than I want to be crazy too. I have a handful of plants in my yard and very few are turning red. I watch you for inspiration. Thank you.
Beautiful video, the produce so vibrant and fresh!! Buhbye Little Miss Callie Rose - God's continued blessings on you and Mama and Daddy, aunties, uncles, Grammy and Grampa! 💕
So true about the tomatoes!! I only plant 50+ plants and it is so hard! I use cages for most, but your method is interesting!!! Your farm is beautiful!!
I was raised in Ruskin Fl ,tomato capital of the world ! They filmed "Attack of the Killer Tomato" there . I picked , worked at the 3 packing houses in my summers and have seen a ton of ppl grow the little red guys . Guys your crops are amazing , I was thinking you do way better without the stakes . So Rock On .
My wife and I had 145 Roma plants this year and could not give them away. No one wanted any. Yours did well. We grew them in our 2 small 6 x 8 green houses. We do 12-16 acres of Pumpkins. That keeps us busy. We are both 70 years old. We take our time. We tried to hire help, but no one wants to work anymore. I post a few pumpkin videos under my name, but we don't have a following like you do. Your products always look so nice.

Veggie guys, Gals and Little bit Callie I just love watching ya'll picking all the veggies, ya'll could grow your tomatoes upside down an I would still watch. Andrew your dad just makes my day! Howdy from Texas!!!

Your tomatoes on the tractor makes my heart go pitter patter. Silly, I know. Thanks for sharing these harvest videos with the beautiful produce! Watching from Poland.
Hi veggie boys and girls. Not to mention Miss Callie. I sure wished I lived close by. My local farmer market can’t get pickling cucumbers. Or SWEET CORN! I normally have a garden but hubby health we didn’t do it this year. Your veggies are beautiful!
Good morning Andrew, being a vegetable farmer, there could be no greater joy than Harvest Day. From seedings to planting in the ground and then watching things grow and develop. Even if I just pick something whether a flower a herb it makes me feel great. Nothing like home grown large or small scale. So for a farmer to get good rains is so essential. i do not think people really realise the gamble in growing. Not everything can be grown on such a large scale in hot houses. If a Country really depends on covered growing methods then so be it, but natural sunshine and sometimes harsh storms are not pleasant, but you have to take the good with the bad. Those tomatoes lying down yield abundance harvest and as Grandpa says, removing the stakes afterwards and the ties is a nightmare. I don't even do that at home. I think people should be more courteous in voicing their opinions. It was nice to hear a noisy family, that means all is well. Kind regards.
Oh how I have become to appreciate and revel in the greenness of the plant kingdom. From the minerals spring the plants from the mineralized plants spring the animals. In the cycle All going back to the fundamental mineral kingdom in their end cycle. You may consider this, starting again is always natural and beautiful. While you have the time, time is wonderful! GO WITH THE GROW!
Hi to you all. In S E England I farmed sheep and beef cattle and grew arable crops, fruit and vegetable crops plus pumpkins and Christmas trees all my working life only stopping when we diversified into rooms and a campsite. My brother didn't want to farm and towards the end it was a lonely life, not now, with so many tourists and weekenders we see a lot of lovely people. I do envy your wonderful family life, all working together, Callie has a great future I hope you all appreciate how lucky you all are. I love the videos and watch them because you are such an incredible family. Now go find Grandpa's pants please! Perhaps you should buy him a pair of high viz orange pants!

Andrew cruising on the pallet is the best part of this video. My wife was born in Wilkes-Barre. We admire the boys very much!

the sound of corn being picked is soothing but I think the pop of bell peppers being picked is better.
Yeah my family did the same thing with out tomatoes.. I guess people don't realize how larger scale family farms work but you are helping teach people!
What people don't know about their food and where it comes from is what is crazy.
That shot of the wagon full of produce was absolutely beautiful…great job everyone🤗!
