Broad tone on the viola; played with confidence. Wonderful cooperative playing between the performers. Personally, I would have liked the pianist to have received more attention from the camera. She was as impressive as the violist. Bravo to both.
I far prefer Ms. Huang's performance here to William Primrose's legendary one. (He has some intonation problems). She has the full measure of the piece. Bravo! Bax deserves to be heard way more often than he is - a VERY interesting and compelling composer.
