Your journal spreads look so lovely! I started doing a reading journal for the first time last year and my spreads were always very time and energy consuming which often caused me to fall behind. This year I've been doing "simpler" spreads which are just as fun but easier for me to keep up with ☺

i used to have a reading journal but i found that it was way too much work to keep up with, so last year i started a life journal instead! i have a few book related spreads scattered throughout it and it was a lot of fun to make! i did not finish that journal and probably never will… but it was still very fun and i love how so many of those spreads turned out

If you like Sanderson/Cosmere in general - as in both Mistborn era 1 and the Stormlight Archive and/or other ones - you'll probably like Mistborn era 2... plus there's some continuity/overlap across the Cosmere as you get to more recently published books so it's helpful to have read them all 😉

Love your journal! It's so cute and aesthetic!! I have a journal but I'm not good at keeping up with it or knowing what to put in it. I do a lot of audiobooks so pages read doesn't really work for me, and I don't get to that many books in a month so I'm not sure what I could include in monthly spreads....so I haven't done one. I did really like my bingo spread for one my library did, I taped the card in on the top but then had it flip up so I could list all the books I read for each box because I got a blackout bingo!

I love watching people flip through their journals. They all have such beautiful journals. Love to see them. I don't have artistic talent so i can't do beautiful journals. But i really love watching these videos :)
It's actually good that you decided to not continue with Kingkiller chronicles because even if you would have loved book one and moved on to read book two... there is no book three. More than 10 years after first two books, still no ending to this trilogy and seeing how author do not care, i think that book 3 will not happen. Ever. He is puting out novellas which no one asked for and idk who cares about them but he does not care to give readers the ending to a trilogy. So... at this point reading first two books is just a waste of time (because there is no chance to know how the story end... so no point getting invested in characters or plotlines). Better to read other series.
Love your journal setup. I wouldn't have the patience to make one lol I write down what I want to read each month and what I finish, but I don't do any drawings or anything. Maybe I'll make that a goal for 2024.

I don't currently have a reading journal, but I'm starting my first one in 2024. I don't enjoy watching the videos of people creating their spreads. I only seek them out if I'm looking for how to draw something specific. I do, however, love watching flip throughs. I love your journal in this video. It's simple but aesthetically pleasing - attainable for those of us whose talent lies in words, not the visual arts lol.
I love your reading journal, it is very pretty - I keep a Life Journal and just record the odd book in there but I actually should record series more often as I often read a first book free and then forget about the series by the time I get to the library! There are 6 books in the Mistborn series now - the three orignal and then 4 books set many years later. They are a bit different but I really liked the MC - Waxillium Ladrian. Brandon's Skyward series is also worth picking up. I've just finished Hellbent - very different from the Grishaverse books.

I've noticed that a lot of people don't like or are indifferent to Mistborn Era 2 but I personally enjoy them. Not specifically them, but because of the references to Era 1. Reading Era 2 is still good on its own but its not for everyone, but it made me appreciate Era 1 even more with all the referencing, world building and magic system. Mistborn Era 1 for me was definitely a 9/10 reads, while Era 2 felt more like a 7/10. Still good, but I won't reread them. I'm already thinking about rereading Era 1.

I see you have some manga and Lore Olympus (Which I believe originated from Webtoons comics)... if you're open to more from both: I would highly recommend reading Demon Slayer (if you're not watching it already) and as for some webtoons, my favorites are The Kiss Bet && Midnight Poppyland.
I wish I stuck to my plan to read more books in 2023. I've read quite a bit of manga and online comics, but I finally decided to start the ACOTAR series and it makes me so mad that I didnt start sooner, haha. You've inspired me to continue reading and I've become motivated to start journaling as well.

i have a reading journal. sometime i'm lazy to update it, but when i start there's no stopping me. and ink for the printer is so expensive. i need to really limit what i want to print. its frustrating though. and mine just ran out few days ago. i mean, i gotta need all the money to buy books.
A Good Girls Guide to Murder is an excellent book, the 2nd one wasn’t bad, however the 3rd I didn’t like at all, but I know lots of other people did like the 3rd one so.
I’m struggling to read, the Galaxy, and the Ground Within. I keep trying to get into it and I get distracted. 😢
