That tofu in the jar is hairy tofu???? My grandma is Chinese and we always have that jar tofu. I really like it but never know what it actually is until today. I’m in shock and speechless rn
I didn't know what I was looking at, and internalized that I would likely not eat this. Until I saw the Jar and realize I eat this all the time not knowing how it was created.
Props to anyone who is able to eat this stuff. I hear its really good for your gut health, I just cant get past the smell sadly. Ive had so many opportunities to try this but I chickend out every. Damn. Time.
Tofu has no smell unless it's fermented or you get the stinky tofu, get some firm tofu marinated put it into a soup a stir-fry anyting it takes whatever flavour you give to it because it's pretty bland, I explained it as a flavor sponge
@@Kurogane_666 I don't have any problems eating regular tofu. Soondubu Jigae is actually my favorite food in the entire world. I'm talking the fermented stuff. I always smell it grilling at the night market but chicken out in trying it

very difficult to descibe, nothing unpleasent. the large protein chains are broken down into amino acids, texture is more delicate and refined than normal tofu, tastes more umami notes. i dont think it actually has any smell. ofc im describing hairy tofu itself. When made into condiments like the finished product you see in the video, they are spicy with strong liquor smell. People dont really eat hairy tofu by itself apart from certain areas in Anhui provinence and around

Stinky tofu also can be found in Thailand in Chinese community... There is morning friday market near Nightbazaar in Chiang Mai selling Yuannan Chinese food... That place you can find Hairy tofu...
sure its not safe! a lot of peaple consume alcohol and can easely buy it on any store but everyone knows that alcohol have huge bad impact on health, so this rotten cheese will make you feel bad too and will shredder your liver like alco

台灣傳統的豆腐乳作法跟這個不一樣,沒有長白毛的過程。它這個是中國大陸北方的作法,應該也很好吃😊

depends, but far from its tofu origin. usually soft and a bit mushy, sticky, can be salty or sweet. We don't eat them directly.
