Yes,you saw most of the Elk in peoples yards . Anywhere from Driftwood to Medix Run along RT 555 is where you are apt to find most of them. Another very good area is Frenchville, the large fields where the Kennansville rd intersects rt 879 is a very good area.
Thanks Nick, very valuable information. I'm planning on visiting during this year's rut. Would you say the information/details for sighting s is about the same? Any other recommendations?
Thankyou for this video. I'm visiting Pennsylvania this summer and plan to spend an evening & morning to see if I can find some Elk. It's going to be my first time visiting the USA from Europe so as a foreign visitor I won't be conceal carrying for protection, is it relatively safe to walk around looking for Elk with Black bears & possibly Mountain Lions around? Thank you.
Yeah you’ll be safe. It’s a very touristy area. The elk are “used” to the crowds, the bears stay away from the clouds and I’ve spent easily 50% of my time outdoors and have never seen a mountain lion in the six years I’ve been here. Not to say you won’t, just that the chances are slim.
Nick, nice video, just what I was looking for. Any insight about the rut ? I know weather plays a big part. Is it 1st, 2nd, 3rd week of October ? Thanks
Glad it was just what you were looking for! Weather does but I can say they’ve already started. I was up there two weeks ago and bulls began fighting each other
when you are out in the woods are you going for a day trip or are you going for like a week at a time? if you are out for a week how do you keep well try to keep the critters outta your camp while you sleep?
I'm usually going out for a weekend. I'm usually either car camping or tent camping so I've never really run into issues with critters in my sleeping quarters

Thanks Nick, I guess I'd better plan a road trip this week if it's not too late. Any leaf changes yet?
