In 2018 my first born son left this life to the next and some days I just can't do it but today watching this vlog, if you were here, you could hear me laughing out loud. Instead of stressing about excess produce, freeze them to use in the winter. There are several ways and, if I am not mistaken, you have the freezer room now. No? Chopped onions, chopped potatoes, chopped courgettes. Many like to pickle veggies too. When you get too many tomatoes, turn them into tomato sauce and store them in air tight jars. It will save a lot of money during the winter I think

As a fellow TH-camr I understand the unpredictability of TH-cam income and I'm delighted that you are able to subsidise with something more stable (and wouldn't judge any sponsorships you chose to take in future with the expected costs of the heating). I've seen some TH-camrs put a little icon in the corner of their screen throughout the duration of a sponsored ad to make it easier for people to skip through if they don't want to watch. Might be useful? Also, on the hedgehog. I had one wander through my much smaller urban garden last year. Google told me they may come out during the day when they are pregnant or have babies so as to stretch their legs and have a little break. I agree the scratching needs seen to, but have we checked to see if Hook is female? 😬 I think it's important to consider the possibility of hedgehog babies (!!!)...for science, of course....

@@maryjoan4128 Dan and Annalise are currently working on the homestead building but they separated as a couple 9 plus months ago. They are raising the children together. Their youngest son goes to school in the fall, so I hope Dan will stay very close to them for the rest of the summer. 😘
This year, just a year after planting them, my vine is huge and heavy with grapes, my Kiwi is massive and loves where it is and seems to have lots of fruit buds on it and my blackberry is frankly scary NOT that the birds have left any fruit ! Between the grapes, the blackberries and the strawberries I have the best fed birds in Dordogne !
Hi Stephanie, I have noticed that some people got upset with the click bait on this video's title. I have a comment on that. I can tell that you have someone new doing the covers for the last videos and although I can understand that you want to attract more views this approach of exaggerated facial expressions and dramatic or click baity titles really does not goes together with your channel "energy". We like your videos because you are fun, nice and polite, and you live in a fairy tale Chateau. Cheap TH-cam tricks may go well on other channels, but they look really weird here. I don't think you need them, and they are definitely not helping the channel. These cheap covers are actually hurting the image that you created on the last years. Projecting the right image is more important in the long term than getting a few more clicks right now. Maybe you should hire a professional to take care of your socials and of the channel. I think this is way too important to leave for volunteers to figure out, no matter how great are their intentions. And I say this with love, I am a big fan. Good luck!

I hope Hook the Hedgehog was deemed fit to return to the wild 🦔 I once rescued one which was crossing the lane where I lived. The poor thing had an open wound on it's side and I presumed he or she had been injured by a lawn mower or strimmer. When I picked him up using my dads work gloves. Dozens and dozens of fleas swarmed onto the gloves, yet even though 'Hook' is scratching his itches, none have swarmed onto Philips gloves 🤷🏻♀️

Ask the vet if he can have some Capstar in his food. (Amazon) It kills all fleas in 30 minutes. If it is fleas making him itch and not mange that is. It is easy to deflea a wild critter this way. I give it to the raccoons. Cuteness overload. I remember when I first started watching you had a hedgehog in the Chateau hall near the kitchen/laundry area. I always look at the spot where the lake was and can't wait for you all to have it back. Any idea when you all will get it back? It is always exciting to see your progress Stephanie. Dan leaving to live at his grandparents house will mean 3 places he will have projects at instead of just two. Little Hook the Hedgehog will be great for the second book written about La Lande. I bought the first one and it is a fun book for all ages. Try oven or pan fried zucchini. I love to pan fry with onions in butter or a light dusting of seasoned flour (gluten free for my house) with garlic and onion powder and a herb to go with the main course oregano for italian, cumin for Mexican, ginger for Asian, curry for Indian and so on. Chow chow is something to make from the garden at the end of the growing season. You should sit down with Kirsty and plan what items will be planted for next season according to what you use and add in one or two new things so you can find recipes to include the new things. Grapes would be nice to grow with the pergola and make your own grape juice and raisins. Didn't you find some bilered legs up in the attic? Might see if the restorer would like to have them to help on other projects they have and that way they will be used and loved again.
Dan's Thursday Vlog is on the foundation that he and Annalise are putting in for the extension to the main homestead building. They continue to build the house for their children.😀

I signed up to Nord a few months ago and almost immediately was inundated by an incredible deluge of junk email (prior to my subscription I received almost no junk mail, surprisingly). I asked Nord if they sold on my email address and personal details to other companies. They wouldn’t answer directly and only sent a link to an incredibly long list of their affiliates and left it to me to find out for myself. I’d be interested to know if anyone else has experienced the junk email bombardment after joining Nord. Perhaps it’s coincidental. Tech articles and reviews from elsewhere online mention that all VPN providers sell on client data, without exception. I guess it’s just a fact of online life?

I think you need a few walnut trees and hazelnut bushes to feed the squirrels and perhaps an elderberry bush or two or three too, but perhaps it is not Davy but Nick who has to incorporate them into their planting schemes.

zucchini bread freezes well too.

As a fellow TH-camr I understand the unpredictability of TH-cam income and I'm delighted that you are able to subsidise with something more stable (and wouldn't judge any sponsorships you chose to take in future with the expected costs of the heating). I've seen some TH-camrs put a little icon in the corner of their screen throughout the duration of a sponsored ad to make it easier for people to skip through if they don't want to watch. Might be useful?
Also, on the hedgehog. I had one wander through my much smaller urban garden last year. Google told me they may come out during the day when they are pregnant or have babies so as to stretch their legs and have a little break. I agree the scratching needs seen to, but have we checked to see if Hook is female? 😬 I think it's important to consider the possibility of hedgehog babies (!!!)...for science, of course....

Stephanie consulted her patrons about sponsorship and the response was overwhelmingly that she should do them as they are now so common on TH-cam and the money is needed for the heating which is predicted to cost 300 000 euros!! Im not keen myself but accept that this is how TH-cam works. Stephanie has held out for a long time.

This year, just a year after planting them, my vine is huge and heavy with grapes, my Kiwi is massive and loves where it is and seems to have lots of fruit buds on it and my blackberry is frankly scary NOT that the birds have left any fruit ! Between the grapes, the blackberries and the strawberries I have the best fed birds in Dordogne !
Year up the cardboard and add it to the compost bins in layers, cardboard, grass clippings, food waste, leaves green and dried an water.
Hi Stephanie, I have noticed that some people got upset with the click bait on this video's title. I have a comment on that. I can tell that you have someone new doing the covers for the last videos and although I can understand that you want to attract more views this approach of exaggerated facial expressions and dramatic or click baity titles really does not goes together with your channel "energy". We like your videos because you are fun, nice and polite, and you live in a fairy tale Chateau. Cheap TH-cam tricks may go well on other channels, but they look really weird here. I don't think you need them, and they are definitely not helping the channel. These cheap covers are actually hurting the image that you created on the last years. Projecting the right image is more important in the long term than getting a few more clicks right now. Maybe you should hire a professional to take care of your socials and of the channel. I think this is way too important to leave for volunteers to figure out, no matter how great are their intentions. And I say this with love, I am a big fan. Good luck!

I didn’t see any need for it, but I’ve been astonished at the difference it’s made in my viewer figures, it’s not a small difference. They’ve gone up by a degree that I can’t ignore. But I do ensure that the title is always related to what actually happens in the video.

I hope Hook the Hedgehog was deemed fit to return to the wild 🦔 I once rescued one which was crossing the lane where I lived. The poor thing had an open wound on it's side and I presumed he or she had been injured by a lawn mower or strimmer. When I picked him up using my dads work gloves. Dozens and dozens of fleas swarmed onto the gloves, yet even though 'Hook' is scratching his itches, none have swarmed onto Philips gloves 🤷🏻♀️

Ask the vet if he can have some Capstar in his food. (Amazon) It kills all fleas in 30 minutes. If it is fleas making him itch and not mange that is. It is easy to deflea a wild critter this way. I give it to the raccoons. Cuteness overload. I remember when I first started watching you had a hedgehog in the Chateau hall near the kitchen/laundry area. I always look at the spot where the lake was and can't wait for you all to have it back. Any idea when you all will get it back? It is always exciting to see your progress Stephanie. Dan leaving to live at his grandparents house will mean 3 places he will have projects at instead of just two. Little Hook the Hedgehog will be great for the second book written about La Lande. I bought the first one and it is a fun book for all ages. Try oven or pan fried zucchini. I love to pan fry with onions in butter or a light dusting of seasoned flour (gluten free for my house) with garlic and onion powder and a herb to go with the main course oregano for italian, cumin for Mexican, ginger for Asian, curry for Indian and so on. Chow chow is something to make from the garden at the end of the growing season. You should sit down with Kirsty and plan what items will be planted for next season according to what you use and add in one or two new things so you can find recipes to include the new things. Grapes would be nice to grow with the pergola and make your own grape juice and raisins. Didn't you find some bilered legs up in the attic? Might see if the restorer would like to have them to help on other projects they have and that way they will be used and loved again.
Dan's Thursday Vlog is on the foundation that he and Annalise are putting in for the extension to the main homestead building. They continue to build the house for their children.😀

I signed up to Nord a few months ago and almost immediately was inundated by an incredible deluge of junk email (prior to my subscription I received almost no junk mail, surprisingly). I asked Nord if they sold on my email address and personal details to other companies. They wouldn’t answer directly and only sent a link to an incredibly long list of their affiliates and left it to me to find out for myself. I’d be interested to know if anyone else has experienced the junk email bombardment after joining Nord. Perhaps it’s coincidental. Tech articles and reviews from elsewhere online mention that all VPN providers sell on client data, without exception. I guess it’s just a fact of online life?

I think you need a few walnut trees and hazelnut bushes to feed the squirrels and perhaps an elderberry bush or two or three too, but perhaps it is not Davy but Nick who has to incorporate them into their planting schemes.
