    Simon Terrode is the german equivalent to those players.
    Scored 30 goals for schalke on route to promotion while not being able to score more than 5 goals a season when playing in the Bundesliga.

      As a Fulham fan definitely seconding Tim Ream, he's absolutely brilliant in the Championship but a complete liability in the Prem. I think Championship sides aren't used to those kind of front-foot centre backs and afford him way too much time on the ball which lets him play almost as a 6/8 at times whereas he gets absolutely destroyed by the more intense pressing systems in the Prem

    great video but to even suggest Pukki I think is wrong, what he’s done this season in a side completely devoid of goals and attacking output (14 g/a out of Norwich’s 23) has been incredible

      @@jmfoxall7230 Dude, this season Norwich scored like 21 goals in total and Pukki scored 11 goals alone. This video is stupid imo. If you had a player like Pukki or Aleksandar Mitrovic playing as a striker for a team like Manchester City or Liverpool, they could honestly score that 20 goals/a season. How can you shine if your team is so bad? Playing in a bad team doesn't always mean you're a bad player or not worth being a PL player.

    • @jmfoxall7230
      @jmfoxall7230 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Stick Pukki with good service and he would be 15-20 goals a season. Mitrovic I'm not to sure about given he hasn't really shone in his attempts in the Prem.

    • @-RunninNGunnin-
      @-RunninNGunnin- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly. For strikers good service and good players below are everything. Even my 86yo grandpa would score many of those chances a team like City creates in almost every game. Mitrovic is a beast. He scored like 43 goals this season in Championship but unfortunately Fulham will probably not be a strong team in the PL so he'll probably end up being 10 goals/a season player 😂

Which is pretty impressive considering I was only born in 97 lol ( Gotta be the first player I actually specifically enjoyed watching play football ) but i was convinced that he'd end up playing for the first team back than. Would score most games I'd tune in that year. & If I'm not mistaken to he shared the role in Uniteds reserve squad at the time with a young Fraizer Campbell who ironically probably would have made more out his career if he stuck to the championship to. I'm a Newcastle fan, mitro unfairly gets labelled not good enough for the PL. His debut season as a 21 year old, he had 8/9 PL goals. Pretty decent at any age for a striker of a club that got relegated. After that benitez just didn't like him. For Fulham he again had to play for a club fighting relegation. He's slow, can't dribble and doesn't work hard, the reason he's bad in the Prem is Prem defences don't give you space and time on the ball, both of which Mitro needs. Which is also why he excels in international football with its lower intensity. There is a reason every time he's been in the premiership its resulted in relegation.

This calibre of player has always fascinated me, even across multiple sports or even non-sports, like professional wrestling (Jeff Jarrett is the ultimate "not good enough for the main event but way too good to be below the main event" talent of all time). Seems in the English game there should be room for promotion specialists as players; of course it's highly unlikely a professional athlete will not back themselves to go on to the PL, but players who routinely don't end up doing well at the top end of the game could benefit by marketing themselves as a gun for hire to push a team into PL glory before moving on to the next Championship title contender. Maybe someone like Mitrovic.

    This list is very skewed because it’s the team that isn’t good enough for the premier league as opposed to one player. If a striker gets 1 or 2 chances per game in the prem, they aren’t likely hit the same goals tally as in the championship where they get 5/6.

    • @benjones3146

      Tbf Vydra is a perfectly reasonable pick for the lost given his quality in the championship and his lack of quality for prem teams, esp Burnley who've been a very decent prem team over the seasons

He's one player I think is massively underestimated. He would do such a better job than Pukki for Norwich if he'd moved. I'd say it's easy to criticise strikers on goal contributions alone but half of the difficulty of tranisitioning to the Premier League is the lack of opportunities you're going to get as a striker. Promoted teams often change their entire game plans to sit deep and hit on the counter and the quality of the chances a lot of these guys were getting in the top flight were no where near as plentiful nor as high a quality as they would have previously.
