I love antique shopping. You found some great pieces! My favourite are the crocks, I’m a sucker for them too. ☺️ The copper photos graphs are pretty cool, never seen anything like that before. Thank you for sharing!
Love your videos- so the small piano stool - years ago -like a lot of years -door to door salesman had miniature version of their wares -to show people what they would be buying - I was told this by my grandparents ❤
Just found your channel and I absolutely love it! Can’t wait to watch all your videos, I’m so exited because so far I love all your choices in decor and colors and your information about each item and choices. God Bless you and many blessing to you and your Channel!
That was an awesome haul! So you! I love the piano stool! Those beautiful copper plates were used to produce etchings, a form of printmaking. To produce the image, a copper sheet is cleaned, then a ground is applied. The picture is scratched by hand into the copper using a variety of tools. When the image is complete, the plate is submerged into an acid to remove any ground that wasn't scratched away. The plate is cleaned again. Next, ink is then rubbed into the plate which forces it into the scratches. Excess ink is then wiped away leaving only the ink in the scratches. A sheet of paper and the plate are then run through a printing press. The ink from the scratched areas transfers to the paper, creating an image in reverse of the image you see on the plate. I think the "Rembrandt" may be a student copy. It's common for students to copy master works as a way of learning to paint like the masters. Lucky you to find so many interesting things! Enjoy. Edit: I did a quick Google search for "Antique Copper Etching Plate Prices" and found that many were selling for over $2K each! You scored!!!
Thanks so much! These pieces are for sure some of my all time favorites! I appreciate you sharing that about the blocks, that’s so interesting and makes me love them even more. Also- 2k, wow!
Hello Chelsea, I absolutely love earth tones, and our home is decorated in those colors ! Which one is my favorite in your video that’s a hard one to say when you like everything you got….. for me I love your crocks there so versatile and of course your floral leaves 🍂. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful haul and a little bit of your time ! Hope y’all have a wonderful and many many many blessing days to come 💖🌷
Saw so many things I loved during the thrifting trip. Thank you for sharing. I really love the copper newspaper plates you found. Wouldn’t it be so neat to take them to the newspaper office and see if they would ink them and press them onto a piece of paper so you could see the actual picture. Love those.
That is such an interesting idea!! I wonder if the ink would be able to be wiped off the copper after or if they would be stained. 🤔 You’ve got my wheels turning lol.
I love the stool! My folks had a piano stool like that when I was growing up and we'd sit on it and go around and around. I also love the taupe crock - beautiful coloring.
I love the sepia print called, "The Awakening." Are you able to see the artist's name? Would love to find it to get a better look at it. The copper prints are also a great find!
That stool is so cute!!! My mom has this massive antique dictionary. You would love it since you love old books! My husband and I smell books too! My favorite piece is the copper blocks followed by the last crock you showed. I love crocks too!
Thanks so much! I was really excited about the florals too, and I found them kind of accidentally on my way to pay for my other things. Must have been a lucky day ☺️
Girl you found some amazing items, oh my goodness! That little piano stool is absolutely adorable, love all the crocks, those block pieces with copper I wish I owned, love those! It would be hard to pick a favorite but maybe I would choose the piano stool as I have never seen a small one either.
Hey Chels😊 I ❤ those florals , they are my colors too . I love the moody earthy tones all year round . That lil' piano stool is the cutest 💕 You look so pretty in that burgundy color too xo
The little stool is sweet! The cutest little legs! I would think its just made for decor purposes. Most use them for plant stands, sometimes i like to sit a basket with florals or greenery in it or even another piece of decor on them. I always google lens everything to find out more about it 🤷♀️ The art is also really pretty! I collect old art & ornate frames. I love old photos & victorian pieces! I've gotten quite A few and found out they google lens it was actually worth something or a real collectable or even a numbered piece! It can be interesting & even exciting😊 The copper pieces are so cool, love those! Same here, i love collecting really old books, bibles and hymnals. I always make sure the book is older than me, for whatever reason. But my bibles are my favorite ones! And I just found one i had been on the hunt for..a small chunky leather back bible..i was stoked about that of course. Books are always great pieces to decorate with. I like finding little notes written in them or even little piece of paper with notes on them. I like the coffee table books too, and finding books with beautiful pictures you can actually take out & frame! Finding those books at $2 is really amazing, that don't happen often for sure! Ohhh wow..Rembrandt, that's really cool!! Like I said i love the old photos they just say so much! You really did have A great haul.. loved all the pieces! TFS😊
Hi Chelsea 💓 I also love old books and I always go shopping at antique shops to find them and I put them in a bundle with twine it always looks so vintage thanks for sharing always Laura 😊

I like the small piano stand. That was amazing. It looked to be in great shape. And the two cooper printing blocks. Those are neat. And I love any kind of stems. If I ever find any at a thrift store I would buy them. I love crocks. I have a few. I think it’s just the glazing or crazing on the crock. That could be why it looks like it does. I went to a thrift store last week. It was a stinky one. And they didn’t have much. We’re supposed to go to a consignment shop near me tomorrow. Then go eat at a restaurant my husband likes. So I’m going. And I don’t have to fix dinner.
Oh, I had kind of a little funny story to tell you. Remember when you went thrifting and you had a basket (I think) in your cart and a lady came up and basically told you she wanted it and made you feel very awkward? Sorry it’s been awhile since I saw that video lol. Anyway, I was in the thrift store recently and spotted some pottery that I collect (Salmon Falls) in someone’s cart. I was so disappointed that I hadn’t arrived a little earlier so I could have snatched it up. I wanted to go over and offer to pay the lady double if she would let me buy it from her. I didn’t ofcourse, but a few days later I went back to that same store and there it was on the shelf. I guess she changed her mind and put it back. I was so excited to purchase those pieces. I thought of how you felt when that happened to you. Just thought I’d share.
I’m so happy it was there for you!! That’s too funny it made you think of the basket incident, but I’m glad that you had such great luck and were able to bring your treasure home 🖤🖤
Good evening Chelsea! Great thrift haul! So many beautiful pieces from the beginning to end! Love the mini piano stool, copper plates, old books and your leaf stems! Would the leaf stems work in your large crock? I look forward to seeing where Rembrandt goes and all your things styled! Thank you for sharing! 💕
How, funny! I just bought a copper photo newspaper plate similar to yours. I was wondering how you would display them, as I am looking for ideas for mine.

The Rembrandt is most likely painted by an starting artist or for a student assignment, because this is not Rembrandts painting technique. It is cute though and someone really tried their best😊 The copper blocks are so cool, love them and the warm moody tones of the leaves are beautiful Big hugs from the Netherlands ❤

Nice finds! I'm also addicted to crocks, and I like all 3 you got, especially the largest. I love the shape of it, and the color is beautiful!

There’s nothing like old book fragrance. I wish someone could make it a candle scent.
How, funny! I just bought a copper photo newspaper plate similar to yours. I was wondering how you would display them, as I am looking for ideas for mine.
Oh that’s so cool! Is it similar with the houses and trees? I have been moving them around my house quite a bit. Can’t pick a spot 😅🤗
@@thisgirlathome it is actually of a local school. I still haven’t decided how to display mine.
It’s a newer crock. More than likely applied during the process.

That’s kind of what I was thinking, an example of the model just smaller! I’ve been trying to research and haven’t found much so far 🫤
I’m new to all of this. Do you find antique stores are more pricy than thrift stores? I was in one today and was shocked at the prices!
Loved the crocks!
Thanks ma!
The painting may be a student piece. Lots of colleges art programs painting classes have paint the “masters” it beautiful, so it’s my favorite.
