  • What is Kabbalah? Learn the fundamentals of Jewish mysticism and ancient secrets of Creation, with practical tips for daily life!
    Topics discussed include Genesis 1, Sefer Yetzirah, the Ten Sefirot, 32 Paths of Wisdom, the Hebrew alphabet, and decoding your spiritual personality.
    *Please note that on the slides showing the 32 Paths breakdown, corresponding to Genesis (from 10:09 to 11:55), the second line should say "Vaya'as", not "Vayivra". The corrected slides are available to view here: docs.google.com/presentation/...

    What I really like about you is that you do not seem to go with the visions and explanations that are already laid out by Kabbalists such as (for example) _roav_ Laitman. I like this trait as this is my personality as well. And as I am learning Hebrew the Taimani way, I naturally like the way of you explaining the '7 doubles'. Kol hakovod from someone who is not Jewish. ;-)

    This is so similar concepts of what my psychology classes taught me in college, the brain functions , psycho semantics, behavioral patterns, positive/negative thinking etc. emotions + feelings and will power= relative energy levels and outcomes. The practice knowledge to interact with other human beings and the part of the mind to create projects or things.

    Efraim, you are great! I recently came across your channel and love all the videos that I have watched so far. Please expand on the Dalet part in the word Ehad in Shema. What is the source of its proper pronunciation?

    • @EfraimPalvanov
      @EfraimPalvanov  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Thanks a lot Vlad :) There are several texts that explore the letters and their proper pronunciations. One of the earliest is Saadia Gaon's commentary on Sefer Yetzirah. More recently, Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan discusses it in his translation and commentary on Sefer Yetzirah (which I highly recommend). I also went into depth about the letter pronunciations in one of my books. If you reach out to me directly by email I can send you that essay.

    'Be mindful of personal biases and it's influence on critical thinking.' Surely learning one's own personal biases is the instruction here? Bench testing personal bias requires one's self. To second guess another's biases is (as) mindless as it sounds.

    I have noticed that there are two different images of the tree of life. One is the one you explain, then there is another one with two paths from Netzach and Hod join to Malchut. According to one Rabbi, that one (not like yours) makes it the "dark" tree or sefirot. Could you perhaps explain the difference?

    • @EfraimPalvanov
      @EfraimPalvanov  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You can find a good explanation in Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan's Sefer Yetzirah: The Book of Creation, pgs. 22-32 (highly recommend this book). In short, the one I always use and the one in this video is the Arizal's version, while the other one is associated more with the Vilna Gaon. Both are fine and nothing to do with "dark" or anything like that. I prefer the Arizal's version for a number of reasons (as do most people, which is why it is a lot more common).

      @@EfraimPalvanov thank you so much. My heart is telling me to look into this, for a while now too. I also wanna share with you a dream I had בייעה. On 9/22/22 going into 9/23/22 where I was stargazing and suddenly a 7 of them stood out like a sefira diagram. From my point of view, the moon was on Saturn, this was on the right side of the diagram or the warm side. With the reds and yellows.
      The left was blue and green/cold colors. The right was warm colors like red, orange, and yellow.
      Then I saw a meteor coming down. I called everyone around me to look as the one meteor broke apart and turned into several drone looking things. The rest of the dream feels irrelevant but that part stood out to me and I drew it out. Interestingly, and unbeknownst to me, the moon was in conjunction with Saturn those days. Forgive my use of English terms, I forgot the names of planets in Hebrew.

    I think Aba and Ima are wrong in that “Aba” is the man or brain, and “Ima” is the Mother or Heart. The heart is not a masculine or feminine thing (the female breast near the heart are). The brain has the two halves: masculine and feminine, left brain-right brain. I think assigning the brain to the man and the heart to the woman isn’t very accurate, the brain within itself has a masculine-feminine. This way of viewing it causes people to think men should be “heads” of churches, states an leaders and women have to be giving and taken advantage of as the “heart”. This is false gender construct meant to keep woman out of leadership. I agree with the structure but not some of the gender assignments. Both men and women need to be hearts as much as minds.

    • @EfraimPalvanov
      @EfraimPalvanov  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Every human being, regardless of gender, has qualities of all Ten Sefirot (and five Partzufim). Certain qualities, however, are a little more pronounced in some people compared to other people, or in males compared to females. Generally speaking, the Sefirot on the right column lean towards more masculine while the ones on the left column lean towards more feminine. That doesn't mean they are exclusively masculine or feminine! Of course both men and women need to balance heart and mind, and to have a balance of all ten major qualities for that matter.
