What a beautiful set of STORIES! It's all about the people and their STORIES! Just when I thought it couldn't be better...in walks Grandma Sally!!! Watching her sit in that car and steer and make engine noises was...incomparable, Wonderful! Mahalo for another masterpiece of a video! Aloha!
Same story for most of us that loves a specific car and it was never finished life happens and forces you in a different direction and project cars get sold on to the next person so interesting how orginal owner or the second buyer never finished this old girl she had tons of potential so cool to see how excited the orginal owner is sitting in the car 22:30 @Sally's Speed Shop
Some amazing stories I agree with orginal owner has the look of a corvette and Mach 1 mustang 15 year old paying car payment to awesome love the stories and the history of this ride good Old AMC's All Makes Combined 17:00 @Sally's Speed Shop
Changing the Upper and lower arms will change the Caster which is how the wheel sits in the fender from front to rear of the fender well there Upper and lower Tubular Control Arms toyota Rear Axles still to this day use these style tubular rear upper and lower control arms @6:00 @Sally's Speed Shop
I love this, I have 2 friends who are highly known for building amazing AMCs mainly, but I build badass cars. One of their friends used to own an AMC dealership. So awesome to see you keep the 401.please stick with it, friends amx has been 8second na, no power adders
Nothing like getting the old car back that you love keep it coming man nice sometimes things in life happen that causes use to sell stuff but when you get it back makes it sweeter 👍
Very Nice!!! I have a similar story... I just got my '71 Javelin back from the cousin I sold it to 21yrs earlier in order for me to move out to Arizona... They parked the car in '06 and I was able to buy it back literally in the same condition that I sold it to them( except for 20yrs dust/dirt buildup )... The "Insane Clown Posse" cassette tape I forgot to remove from the tape player was still in it! I am sooo blessed to have gotten this opportunity. This literally never happens in the car hobby world... Thanks for sharing this episode! Much appreciated!
That's so cool that you were able to connect with him and let him see the car. The look on his face and his excitement to tell the story was awesome 😁😁😁😁
Dang after listening to his story about the car it has touched my heart you should just sell him the car and get him to take part in making it a drag and drive car and make it a requirement that he has to run at least one drag and drive a year and video it so we can see him run it!
The coolest part of this segment is the fact that Rob was originally planned for it to be what you and your Dad talked about doing to it after a few passes on the strip...a street driver!!! (Or “Pro Street” driver...if you will...) That’s just amazing!!! I cannot wait to see what she can do! Great stuff guys...keep it coming!😎
You more than made his day. Wow!!! He said, closure... of that chapter. He is all for the next chapters.gimmy a sammich. Let's sent it down the track, he said. OH YEAH!!!
NAMDRA was a great club, all the fast AMC guys. Would be awesome to get this to the 'AMC Races' in early September. Basically all AMC racing, all weekend long, Cordova dragway in Illinois.
Great to watch such a group of really nice down to earth americian s, rather than the loud look at me rich brats..lm on the other side of the world but would crew for these guys any day of the week otherwise..great family and guests. Cheers!.
Those headlight stickers look real on the 40" TV in my bedroom. This story realy touches me as I had a 69 Javelin 290 car with a mildly built motor, Sold it for a 69 Javelin big bad orange car that was a factory 390/ 4 speed car that came with a mildly built 360. I later put a built 401 in that car with 12 to 1 venola ultra lite pistons (380 grams) factory 390 rods, 401 crank, 70 heads ported and polished with 2.08/1.72 chrysler valves, 560 comp cams solid cam. this motor made 550hp. Later the motor was pulled from this car, and it was sold and I bought a gutted and caged 69 AMX 390 car, and before I finished that car my then high school girlfriend got pregnet. THe AMX was sold, and so was my crazy 401, This was at the end of the 80s. I don't have none of the cool cars I had right out of high school but I still have the girl, and the kid plus one more plus a ton of great memories fourty years of memories to be exact,
What an absolutely awesome experience to have the original owner tell the history and stories. Can't wait to see it rippin it up! Your grandma Sally is awesome, great sense of humor 😉 😀 😄!!!
Life changes priorities all the time. Pretty cool for the guy who rescued the Jav and started it down the racing path to see how it has ended up so far. Will he have a shot at driving it once you get it drag'n'drive ready?
Had 68 javelin 290 auto, solid lifter cam, headers lakewood traction bars, was quick cool little ride. Traded for 69 AMX then a 70 AMX, both were unbadged Donahue cars, very fast and fun to drive
Lol i dont know sounds like there somthing wrong with the motor and she comes back with you smarty 😂😂😂 to hilarious Jacob 30:07 grandma Sally is a Trip Bro she ready to run it down the track everyone get out of her way or she will take you out with the car @Sally's Speed Shop
I think you should sell the 401 to some racer who will gladly give you 10K + for it, and use the funds to build a turboed BBC to use it for drag n drive, which will be a more durable and have more potential than risk popping the 401 which is rare and will kinda suck to live with and suck more finding parts for when you inevitably blow it up, thats just my take on it man - you do YOU!
You can probably buy the longer bars from AFCO and move the rear end back that way. Its a lot cheaper than butchering the chassis to move brackets. Do these basics and put the car on the track to see what it does. To paraphrase Banjo Mathews: How fast do you want to go? How much money you got? Looks like next Kenosha homecoming is July 2025
I think I want to rework things for even more adjustability with even more mounting points, and some slightly shorter bars than what are here. We’ll see how it works when we get it on the track though 👍🏼
Jacob, what is wrong with you? How can you have a bright orange Roadrunner sitting there and not say anything about it? Look at the cracks on the inside of that rear tire.. age gets to all things. If you can afford one I'd ditch that rear end for a Winter's Quick Change, being able to swap gears without pulling the shafts and driveshaft and having to rest the pinion depth etc is so useful, and with you keeping it somewhat low power you aren't going to break it.. though I'm pretty sure they use a Dana 60 ring gear anyways so you'd be hard pressed to break that in general. Enjoy your grandma while you can.. they're always gone before you think they'll be.. All my grandparents and all but one of my great aunts/uncles are gone.. I can't tell you how bad it sucks to have your world shrink so much.. The thing that kills me the most is I never got to take a girlfriend to meet them and show her what great people they were or introduce them to my own family.
I no this ant video but u an your dad was working on a truck that rat chew spark plugs wires off u saying why do rats chew wires off of truck an card old farmer told me one time wh, he thought bout his cows would chew spark plugs wires off his tractor he said because they tasted sweet to them I say same for rats to

This fellow is so happy to be there and talk about this car! Glad you were able to track him down. Good job Jacob!!!
Man, what a cool car. I love the javelins. The story behind it just makes it all that much better. I can't wait to see it moving under its own power.
You guys are having a blast. Awesome memories.

what a cool story

Sounds like a good idea! And, it's gonna have two seats for the track too.
Wow, what a difference. Sweeeet!

You need the AMX front spoiler also....
Dude sell the car to him😊😊
How much?
Did Rob notice that the headlights were stickers?
I don't think he mention it but, he sold the car in 1990. It had been a few decades. 😂
@OldTimeRevival Okay, but I was waiting for him to say that he liked the headlights, and then I was waiting for Jacob to say "Umm those are stickers."
When are we gonna see more on the green hornet??
Hopefully soon!
I'm going to live 😁
We hope so. 😊 Thanks for watching!
I wonder where my first mustang went, probably to the junk yard or it’s got a ls in it, would be my guess.
Dang she don’t look 89!

Crappy echo chamber audio.
It's a quonset hut and so, it echoes. But, we hope to get some mics soon. That should help. Thanks for the feedback and for watching.
That scoop is FUGLY! I hope you guys change it.
First
Thanks for watching! 🙌🏼
Please finish it the way they wanted it.. Let them ride it before you change it 👍✌️🥹
