Love the video. As a former owner of a 1988 (My Favorite), 1991, 2003 and 2006, these cars always have a place in my heart. My 1988 was my first car purchased in 1997 from the Grandson of the Original Owner. How I miss that car.
Enjoyed your trip to Texas. I too own a Mercury Grand Marquis LS mine being a showroom condition 1989 50th Anniversary Edition Dark Blue metallic with full Carriage cloth roof and Gold Anodized exterior trim and trunk lid luggage rack. This car was owned originally by an elderly couple who passed away and their family sold it to my local dealer who I purchased it from in January 2022. It had 67,000.0 miles on it at purchase and now has 74,000.0 miles. I also own two Ford Crown Victoria wagon's a 1987 and a 1991. Both are excellent cars but do not ride quite as smooth as my Mercury. I hope your parents enjoy the beautiful Gray Grand Marquis you delivered to them. I am sure they will get compliments on it wherever they go as do I with mine.
Gorgeous car. I’ve had a few Grand Marquis in my lifetime, but my favorite one was a 1982 Grand Marquis Brogham I had financed from a car lot. It was near mint condition, light topaz blue with navy leather interior and a white landau roof, with wire wheels. Absolutely stunning car, rode better than the three Lincoln Town Cars I’ve owned. God I miss that car. I wished I had never sold it. We all do stupid things when we were younger. 😢
Wow! That has to be the finest example of a ‘91 Grand Marquis in existence. They just don’t make cars that ride like that anymore. Must’ve been a great trip...
Thank you for sharing your journey and the Grand Marquis. It was indeed a nice car. It was great to see the brochures and hearing about the years of the car. It was nice hearing about the features. I think it looked great up until 1997. It lost something after that. You truly have a great car and please cherish and take care of the car.
Absolutely superb. What a fantastic trip thru some beautiful country. I feel sorry for anyone who didn't experience the 80s & 90s. My aunt & uncle had a mid 80s Grand Marquis for what seemed like forever. Very fond memories. Your's is one of my favorite vintages. Timeless. I'd rather drive my 80s Town Cars or anything with a half vinyl top, opera lights, curb lights & hood ornament than anything new. 2 decades that are very dear to me. Cars like this will never be built again & have much more style. I love it your car sir,. Awesome find!
One of my favorite models and years of all cars. These were really well-made and served countless American families for years. There would be more of them around today if the Explorer hadn't taken off in the early '90s and spurred the transition from large sedan/wagon to SUV.
I first saw this video when it first came out and it inspired me. While not the same year, i found amd bought an 86 mercury grand marquis coupe, also low miles and its now part of my collection. The ride is even better than what i remember. Awesome cars that cannot be duplicated by anything made today. That is a true shame.
In the early 2000's I had an 87 Grand Marquis LS in exactly this color scheme. It had been my grandparents from new and at the time I got it It had like 29000 miles on it. My Grandmother (Granny) didn't drive and my Grandfather (Pa) drove his pickup, so this was their church and dinner car. I absolutely adored that car, and have been searching for a more modern car that gives the same ride, but to no avail. The closest I came was a 2003 Town Car, but even that fell short (I think it was the leather rather than velour seating.) Regardless, your video warmed my heart. Thanks!
So wonderful the Grand marquis! Thank you for that trip down memory lane. Every car show we show our ‘67 Camaro and our ‘79 1/2 ford ranchero we get stories of simpler time’s.
It's a bit easier to understand what you're saying this time. I really enjoy your subject matter!!! ☺ I hope you make more videos of these American giants.
This is probably one of the best (if not, the best) videos that document the history of the Grand Marquis. Other than old articles and car reviews, there are surprisingly few documentary-styled videos on the internet about the panther platform. I'm still glad that I caught a one owner, slightly moldy cream puff at pre-covid prices and plan to daily it for as long as possible (or at least until I get t-boned lol)
This video is much easier to hear!!! Thank you. This beautiful Grand Marquis reminds me of my dads 71 Marquis Brougham with the high back twin comfort lounge seats!!!👍👍
Im not a Ford guy by any means, but if i were to own something built by Ford it would definitely be a Mercury or a Lincoln, probably a Gran Marquis or Town Car. Some of the best cars ford ever built. Always loved Mercury's logo as a kid. Great car you got there man, im jealous lol.
Very nice video. I'm happy you found the Grand Marquis LS to suit you and I hope you like the gray metallic. The bright finished turbine spoke aluminum wheels exclusive to the 1991 model sure were the most beautiful compared to the gray painted ones before them.
Adam of Rare Classic Cars And Automotive History has at least a couple Marquis'. He praises the ride and the Twin Comfort Lounge. (I wish I had Adam's money!) My mother had a 1999 powder blue Grand Marquis. It was her favorite.
Beautiful Grand Marquis you have there. These are the example of a dying breed. Such a shame too. I have my 2nd Lincoln Town Car and will never part with it. Even when my time comes my ashes will be going from the funeral home to my property in my Lincoln . Keep her forever and the person lucky enough to buy or inherit it. Also, can you tell me the name of the music playing at the first part of the video. Thanks for allowing us to see your car. It's been an honour Sir. Greetings and well wishes from Nova Scotia,🇨🇦
Greetings from Texas! I agree it's a shame these amazing cars are disappearing. So happy to hear you enjoyed. The opening song is by an artist named B. Hornet, it's a remix of The Neverending Story theme.
A Grand Marquies Brougham always a Beautiful semi luxury car finally got me a 2009 LS Brougham fully loaded to the Maxx I'm enjoying it down size Baby lincoln Towncar
Jesus you have a very good condition classic there my guy. Course it performed perfectly...not one doubt. Jesus your roads almost look as narrow as ours! Sure this is the us of a?
I have a 2002 Grand Marquis LS best cars ever built I might be thinking of selling mine 136.000 miles, money problem's is the only reason I'm thinking of selling.

This is (yet another) re-upload to fix some voice over issues related to new equipment. Thanks for your support and I hope you enjoy.
Good stuff.. yea, voiceover is clearer in this version. I feel your pain with voiceovers :) :)

Great video as an former owner of 3 - 84,84 90 I must say what great cars wish I still had them. Back seat was so rummy.

I get the tingles on these nostalgic videos. The line about spending just one more night with your grandparents. Man I miss my grandparents so much.

I'd love to go to Cooters someday!!

What a magnificent car! I've been a BIG fan of the '88 thru '91 Grand Marquis for many years...they were awesome vehicles!
Hee! Haw! was one of the shows I watched every week. Roy Clark's talented guitar playing, and the full cast cutting up!
So wonderful the Grand marquis! Thank you for that trip down memory lane. Every car show we show our ‘67 Camaro and our ‘79 1/2 ford ranchero we get stories of simpler time’s.

We were surprised how narrow some of the roads were as well! Just some very remote and rarely used backroads in the northeast US.
My name is marquis😁
