John, give a listen to Dirty Loops. They are a trio from Sweden--keys, bass, drums. Each member is the best musician in the band. They are pop, classical. gospel, jazz and fusion. Been playing since the mid 60s and these guys are some of the best that I have ever heard. I really like "Next to You" and "Work Shit Out". Impressive group of musicians. Makes me have hope for the future of pop music.

the funny sound you hear is a cuica a brazilian drum with a large pitch range it's basically a percussion instrument !
