What do you have to repair tie into a wood framed wall, would need to fasten into wood studs, so a 7" lag screw fastener with 1/4" head diameter max or helical fastener could do it, so 4" of brick, 1" gap off of wall plus 1/2" of sheathing which might be non-structural celotex, plus about 1 1/2" into the stud
why are you drilling into the mortar and not the brick as Helical advise ?
