  • Why listen to ONE pro, when there's THOUSANDS of armchair experts in chat? Having undergone PhiDX's coaching, Brian re-enters the ring with a new determination - and the ability to tech throws! But will that alone be enough to take down the Dragunovs, Kings, and Azucenas of ranked? Or will Brian need a little more help...?

There is a lot of important info that the game doesn't teach you or assumes you know. The arcade quest was good for teaching some things but it also spent like half the time teaching how to use Heat, which is pretty simple compared to some of the things you need to know about waking up, punishing, etc.
Like, yes, press the heat button to enter heat mode, I get it, how about you show me how to land a hit on someone lol.
To be clear, I don't need advice, I figured it out myself, you just have to use quick attacks to get them to block, then start mixing in low hits then mix in a mid when they think you are going low and smoke em. Easy. The game doesn't tell you that shit tho lol.

even if you were holding the right break, lets say you were holding 1 for whatever reason and they do a 1 break throw, you let go and press 1 but are physically unable to break it because of this bug

I predict that Brian will do better than any of these other 2D streamers because he doesn't bring his ego to the game. Dude comes in knowing he knows nothing and that its gonna take a while - thats the fastest way to pick up this game and improve. If you cry like a lil puss every time you get hit by an unknown string, your emotional response will curb the rate at which you learn

If youre in heat there are some really nasty paul guardbreak setups -> when you get wallsplatt do f1+2 ,b2,1(hold) guardbreak then d1+2 to wallsplatt -> qcb1+2 (tornado rewallsplatt) 3,2b2 for 47 dmg

That Dragunov player at about 16:00 doesn't have a complete command of the character, they're relying on three or four moves and then mixing you up with them. I noticed that when you were in the mix and confused by their combos your footsies went out the window. Interestingly they are far from immune to your own rushdowns. Try f,f+2,1 to push them back once or twice, then mix them up with the f,f+2, 2 now and again to keep them honest.

@Maggotbone in terms of the Alosa one, though, is the English translation the intention of that line? It might literally translate as the former but the way Alosa is saying it the intention of what she's saying is more accurate to the longer translation. Due to various subtleties of tone and language structure.
Only saying since it's a Japanese game with prominent English speakers in high positions. So the Japanese translations might be a bit more accurate this time around.

@Brian_F I also recommend b1+4 as a punish throw. For some reason very few people are able to tech that throw. Also worth trying f,f1+2 after a successful Phoenix Smasher (Death Fist). Try it once, if they duck it, never try it again in that situation because they'll be waiting for it. Instead, go for a d,1+2 to tackle them. Alternate 1 and 2 then 1+2 for punches and an armbar.

so you're playing Tekken, i do not give advice to players to the other games player bcz they just play it for fun or on launch and then just never touch it again. i have a seggession for you that, Paul is a specialist character, means you need execution with timing and alot of characters knowledge to play him good. i m not stoping you to play Paul if you like the character. first go to the command list and rememmber all his moves then watch other paul players how they play him aggressivley and deffensivly and how they combo. i would suggest you to start with jack-8 he is easy character and very handy for beginners. also for Throw escape training; go into practice mode pick Dragnove as an opponent set up his command grabs in Deffance mode f+1+4 for 1 tech, f+2+3 for 2 tech and u/f+1+2 for 1+2 tech and firstly just duck and watch his hands closely do not punish after whiff you will start to realise the hand animations for each throw. then let him grab you and try teching the throws. this way you can train yourself very good. Eng is not my first language so Thankyou
