    Your videos are the best. Just wanted to comment.
    My love for reptiles started at a really young age. I use to catch wild garter snakes up at the family cottage ever since i could remember. I was always fascinated with how i noticed, as long as I stayed calm, i could watch the wild snake in my hand calm down when it realized i wasn't a threat. Watch their breathing slow down and adrenaline dispense. Just chilling out with a wild curious snake. Even through my teens, whenever i brought friends up there and did the same thing. Some were terrified of snakes. Was always a GREAT feeling picking up a wild snake and explaining to a fearful friend "they are cold blooded and simply FEEL you. Watch them calm down as they FEEL me. Watch their breathing slow as they relax. Now you hold them." Was always amazing having friends thank me for helping them get over their irrational fears. THAT'S what i love about snakes. Their sensitivity to my energy and intelligence to recognize that i'm no threat to them. Helping others see their highly evolved sense. Spreading a reverence to ALL animals. Spirit moves through all things.
    I truly appreciate all the information you provide about your animals and SD's themselves. It's really important and a great thing you're doing. I hope to be a part of this one day.

    • @ReachOutReptiles
      @ReachOutReptiles  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Eric has great stuff! Normal poss hets make great females to raise, especially from smaller bloodlines like those. The males make amazing pets. I would personally not invest the time and money required to raise and breed them together, especially as siblings from an already heavily inbred project like the dbl recessive Snows. Just my .02

      From an investment breeding standpoint? I can't think of a single person who breeds Day geckos exclusively full time (though maybe that's just a coincidence), but certainly many people do with Leopard geckos- that's how I got my start!

      Reach Out Reptiles My breeding project may not start for another season or two because of how much I still have to learn. I currently have a male Banana Pastel, but don’t know what a good pairing would be. I really would like some kind of GHI, Mojave, or Leopard combo. However, I’m not interested in spiders, champagnes, or any other morphs prone to genetic conditions. Thanks for replying!

      @@joeyrekiel You may want to take Bamboo into consideration. Banana Bamboos look stunning imo. Actually just picked up a Banana Peweter male to pair with my Bamboo Sugar Lemonblast female the other day. Lol. Hoping to get a bunch of interesting babies between them. There's tons of great combinations that pair super well with the banana gene! Best of luck with it!

    This 2 part video was very deep and very very helpful. I completely understand what you are saying. Quality over quantity any day. If u can't do the investment or if u have money for a snake thats all great. But what are you going to do once purchasing that snake on impulse? Well I made that silly mistake myself recently went an purchased 2 dream snakes of mine. One is a sunfire citron mainland retic female wich is beautiful and then a male tiger pied reticulated python also. Made the mistake of buying of impulse before was even ready for them. I'm now rushing around trying to board out, insulate an heat my attick ready to start custom building 2x 10ft x 4/5ft retic cages and a 6ft x 4ft cage for my bredils python when she is fully grown. In a way I was lucky that I purchased 2 small baby retics so they can go in smaller cages for the mean time while I build out there forever homes. Rather than purchasing 2 full grown retics. Yes I was silly for doing that, do I regret it? Not 1 little bit. My wallet may be regretting it slightly but money can not get in the way of dreams an happiness. I've set a dream goal with little goals to reach on my journey to owning my own reptile shop and going to expos and shows to not only show off my beautiful collection but so i can educate people as to what these gentle giants are actually like, how visually intelligent they are, and how they are nothing like the big film companies make out. You respect you're animal an you're animal will respect you back in return. Alot of folks have told me the last few years even before I purchased my first ever ball python 3years ago. That you CAN'T train you're reptiles and that you can only habituate them to get used to you're scent, routine, ect ect... now I'm sorry I have spent a whole load of time with my snakes and each snake has its own unique personality, character, but I have learnt to read my animals quite well I'd like to think, in 3years n now a collection of 9 BPs. A bredils python, jaguar carpet python. jaguar carpet X Bredil hybrid. I have only ever been tagged ONCE. That was by my near wild caught generation, normal ball python, she has the most unpredictable temperament of any snake ive ever had the pleasure to meet in 24years of life. All my babies are puppy dog tame. I think it has alot to do with how you care for and handle you're snakes. The less stress the better n healthier the animals i have found. Sorry for such a long comment but I felt like I really connected with you in these videos. So just want to say a big thank you and please keep the videos coming as i love them. U soeak the TRUTH. So many people over producing, just thinking and caring about the price tag rather than the animals themselves wich i strongly disagree with. Especially those who decide to buy into the hobby, those who end up buying a few below average - average quality snakes n try breeding them together, produce standard quality babies. Find it a struggle to sell them, having no space for them or no money to feed them regular, then they go releasing them into the wild rather than finding forever loving home's. Really does boil my piss. Or they buy into the hobby without realising just how much maintenance an time is required to keep snakes, especially at consistent temperatures alot of people have no idea how much work is involved. But rather than admit that n try to re-home the snake they sell them as u say super dwarfs to make a quick sale. If u are going to change ur mind, or have any doubts about keeping snakes for the 40yrs they can live for, then don't buy it to start with in my oppinion

    So I've been planning my breeding projects so far, and I have 1 albino purple phantom female retic
    1. Pure local kayuadi super dwarf male retic
    1.goldenchild phantom 60% pos albino male
    1. Female Anthrax
    And 1. Male platinum Motley male retic.
    I want to get more retics just with way more morph combos in each individual, for example a Jaguar tiger platinum retic,
    Does anyone have any recommendations for what I can pair each snake with?

    • @alexcrowder1673
      @alexcrowder1673 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My reccomendation is that you mail all of those to me, because those sound amazing. On a serious note, I'd say make some cows with your phantom and a HOGS or OGS, but honestly finding a pure kayuadi to pair to the one you've got would be even better. I'd imagine that'd be expensive though. I dont think morphmarket has any rightnow.

    Could you give a breakdown and cost of that rodent order? Looks insane!

    • @ReachOutReptiles
      @ReachOutReptiles  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was from Cold Blooded Cafe- and it was kind of a special order, but I can say they DEFINITELY have the best rodent quality at the lowest prices. It was 1300 pounds of rats and mice, and cost $200 to have freighted out, and goes overnight.

      Are you starting with babies? One thing I will point out with Mainlands is that it costs on average a little over $3000 to raise each female to breeding age, so make sure you will be able to recoup those costs, and still manage to pay yourself for your time caring for them over the years, if you want to do this as an Investment. :)
