The lower segment of laptops just got really bad in the last couple of years... And of course buying used is Not an option, because you can't just change the mobo for 30 bucks if it decides to fail.
I built a AMD A10-6800K with a msi FM2+ motherboard with a sapphire 7950 gpu and i love it, i can run so far any game i want on it and it to me is flawless. love it. i built this gaming pc 5 years ago and it is still going strong. and i am a grandmother and i built it myself.
ohh and it will dont worry , that silicone will come lose @ some point from heating/cooling cycles :D , i know becouse i saw how silicone behave's where i work after a while
Eetu Isola the GPU might get hurt from the cooler dropping on it, but the CPU will deal with the heat fine, Intel has built in thermal protection to throttle or halt the CPU when the heat spikes, not saying to run it with no cooler though (I've seen tech channels do it before for shits and giggles)
I've run some low end pentiums from the last couple of gens with no cooler in the BIOS. They stabilize at about 85-90 which is perfectly fine for the handful of minutes I need to check something or do a BIOS update. If they get hot during the update I just set a fan on them
Ulfgar-Septimus von Stahlenberg that BS. Just Install windows on his imac and He will BE able to Most Games medium High Resolution while still getting good FPS. ITS the OS Not the hardware
hando hall haha no, so the cheapest imac you can get is 1300 euro which means the one this guy has is worse and older. It has a dual core i5 with integrated graphics, which is extremely shitty and cant play at high with good fps lmao
I just made an i5 760 computer running @ 3.5ghz for a coworker. It has 8gb of ram, 1tb hard drive, and an r9 270 for only 80 bucks. Theyre gonna have a great christmas and I get to do what I love :).
i got a 980 and 960 SC 2.0 or w/e its called for $100 a piece about 8 months ago...the 980 a friend is using and we found it in a resale shop popular on FB with a damaged box! worked perfectly and even had a 30 day warranty...price on it was $140 but got em down to 100 and the 960 bought off craigslist
The HD 7870 is such a killer budget graphics card, I bought one off a mate for $50 AUD a couple of years back and put it into a PC for my little brother, along with the guts of a second-hand Harvey Norman prebuilt with an i7-3770, 12GB of RAM, and an SSD which I got for around $250 AUD about half a year prior. I can pretty much max out the OC sliders in Afterburner with the HD 7870 and it runs flawlessly, temps max out at under 70C with fans on auto and you can barely hear it. It's a hell of a lot quieter than my 290X that's for sure!
Randomness but in the budget idea. Cloudy/Clear silicon on a RGB{NOT RGBW, it has white} strip helps minimize/stop the "rainbow" effect when set to white.
A pc like this makes a great way to play last gen or older console PC ports. For people who may have missed out the games back then, its perfect for pc console ports from 2010 - 2015
I built my gf a pc i got 16 gigs of ram for 25$ patriot ddr3. And a 1060 founders for 160$ the deals are real you just gotta lowball and not be afraid tbh.
love old budget friendly pc's... only things I would suggest about it... Hyper 212 evo - $15USD & Used 120GB ssd - around $20-$30 USD. Both seem worth it even in this type of budget build.
Yeah, 8GB DDR3 for $25 US would be a steal nowadays. I got lucky and got 6x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 for next to nothing, but even a 4GB stick of that can be like $35 at least on ebay.
Amazing ! You just earned a sub. You deserve millions of subs because you help potato gamers out(like me) and you're content is amazing ,clear, and informative. Thanks.
I just got this PC for 125 dollars, I plan to play some up to date games such as Fortinite, pubg, latest cod or battlefield. I5-3550 8 GB of RAM 500 gb hard drive Windows 10 pro Honestly, I am excited to switch to PC. I get it this Tuesday! 😁
Ty2525 Why would you NOT? The 2500k overclocked can still keep up with a stock 7600k and probably outperform a 4Ghz 1600x. I can tell you’re new to PC gaming and have no idea how a bottleneck works.
After watching this video. Bought the xeon x3430 right away. Spec Motherboard: asus p7h55 Cpu: xeon x3430 OC 3.6ghz Ram: 4gb gskill aegis( upgrade another 4gb later) Vga: gtx 750 ti Great price!!! Love Tech Yes City
Ripan Dutta I have a PS4 and yes PC Gaming is expensive if you want a great looking game with good frames. But if you don’t care built a PC with used parts. I also have a PC and my PC is expensive($1400AUD)
Yes upfront PC gaming can be alot more expensive and more difficult then just buying a console but I believe that the pros of a PC heavily out way that of any console
I'm all for budget PC's 6 years ago i built a new PC for 900$ US, it was a FM1 socket motherboard GA-A75-UD4H, wasn't cheap at all back in 2011, i cant really remember witch cpu i had in there I'm pretty sure it was a dual core 2.7ghz, i got a 500gig hdd and 500w power supply, and a nvidia 450gts gpu in there. With 4 gigs of ram. All ive added to it over the years is 4 more gigs of ram and and upgraded the cpu to a athlon 651k, witch is the most powerful fm1 cpu that was made, it still runs games like GTAV with out any trouble, but that build was expensive at the time and i regret paying so much, but anyway i gave it to my brother and decided to make a new budget build for my self, so i started browsing and found a ASUS Z97-P motherboard for around 52$, witch is an OK price, and i found a gigabyte R7 260x rev1.0 with 2gigs for around 50$ as well, now i got me 8gigs of ram for some 55$ witch is considered really cheap here (i live in Serbia so even my budget build is expensive) and for 20$ i got a G8120 dual core cpu with the original cooler, a 500w power supply, and a 500gig hdd, and a old beat up PC case, but that one was free. So for around 175$ US i have a pretty nice build right now. Ill change the PC case and cpu eventually but its pretty good for now, considering what i paid.
Small tip for future PUBG tests - setting the textures to a higher setting than very low will most likely improve the FPS sounds strange I know but it takes load off the CPU and uses the Graphics card more. Also should have just cable tied the cooler down :)
I'm about to pick up an x79 motherboard for cheap ($50). Anyone have suggestions for a good performing processor to bundle it with? Thinking close to the $100 range. I'm really into overclocking so if someone could point me in the direction of some magical xeon that'd be fun. Bryan if you could chime in that'd be dope too :)
The Xeons for that platform are still 100+ and not worth it in my opinion as they are only 4 core 8 thread. I'd go with i5 2500k, i5 3570k or if your lucky maybe a i7 2600k
The x79 has the 2011 socket, right? I briefly looked into this before I got my i7, but the used x79 market is crazy high. Many xeons from this gen are overclockable, you might want to look into a e5 1620 v1 or 1660 v1. The 1620 is a 4c8t, and 1660 is 6c12t. The v2 versions will also work on that chipset I believe, but they don't overclock as well but have higher base clocks. If you've already got the board its great value, but if you need to buy the board it becomes almost as expensive as buying new current hardware.
idk i have a 2600k@4.5 already and i was just thinking of upgrading to a 3930k since this mobo would be cheap. it'd amount to like $50 x79 $100 3930k, then sell my current 2600k and z77 for like $150 bundled. so kinda a free upgrade but i was just asking since i don't know much about x79s and was wondering if there was a cheap cpu that was a really good overclocker like there is on x58. thanks for the help tho
JustIncognito actually no scratch that. You could get an e5-2660 or 2670 8 core for around $100 just make sure you can overclock it as they are clocked low
Can I buy this PC for $136 ... Pls ;- ; I'm legit so serious so since its better than what I got and you mostlikely will never use this pc every again..
Thank you for making this vid!!! Being an old school nerd (I started with DOS 3.1) and need to get my feat wet on a newer platform with limited $$$. My Dell I3 laptop works but I need more kick. The CPU is on it's already on the way.
In games like Fortnite you set your viewing distance as high as possible and everything else depending of your system resources. There is no point to sacrifice viewing distance for AA or shadow details.
I paid 110$ for my current 1155 system before graphics, it's a dell t1600 and it came with a e3-1270,8GBs of memory and a 1TB HDD had to swap the PSU through and that cost 35$(USD) but I also put in a gtx 1070 so the budget was much higher(350 new before the crypto plage)
And i even ran fortnite everything on EPIC, with a Core 2 Quad Q9450 and a Asus GTX 1050TI Expedition + 4GB DDR2 800mhz ram (OCz Platinums), at around 80 fps. Update: I'm running it on a Asus Maximus II Formula, but im having a really hard time overclocking, since it won't post when over 400 FSB
This beats my 300$ laptop... it runs Fortnite at 20 FPS avarage at Low settings... GG, I have 120$ for birthday money so I’ll buy these parts (if they are still available and at the same price today)
So funny story I watched this video about 4 months ago and immediately bought a xeon x3430 (aliexpress, $4 with coupon) with the intentions of buying a lga1156 mobo later on down the line. Well yesterday I went to a local big thrift shop and they sell computers that are unknown condition and they had like 5 of them for $10 each, I saw pentium 4 , pentium d, celeron, core 2 duo and one pc had an i3 sticker. turns out it is a Gateway DX4840 with an i3-550, 8gb dr3, 1tb HDD.. Grabbed a spare r7 260x that i got for free over a year ago , cleaned out the pc dust, plugged it in and after clearing bios everything worked! Forgot I had purchased the x3430 until this morning.. Put that in and it worked as well.. Needless to say I have myself a pretty capable $14 gaming pc!
i have a 7850 stored away , as i bought a r9 290x 4gb earlier this year for about the same price i bought a 7850 4 years ago, the psu consumption is higher but the graphics are a bit smoother but i think the motherboard limits it, i got an ssd to just assist with performance and it did actually but limited size for games :/ but the 7870 is pretty good on med settings for overwatch and decent for modern fps on med 1080p
Would you be able to start doing Cinebench single thread and multicore score with every new build you do. It would be great to see the performance increase in ipc. Great video, thanks!
Hi Bryan! I was wondering if you could use Forza Horizon 3 as a benchmark. It's awesome from what I've seen so far. Keep up the great work Bryaneasy! I love your channel.
This is a good build if you already have a mobo, because these old mobo's don't come cheap. I also think you should have made it a 150$ build and buy a better looking case, preferably mini-ATX. i know cable management does not matter with a closed case but you gonna have to do something better then that.. Great video!
You glued this thing together? You are quite the savage: Linus might need you as an Aussie correspondent.

If that cooler come loose in the future then RIP video card
ohh and it will dont worry , that silicone will come lose @ some point from heating/cooling cycles :D , i know becouse i saw how silicone behave's where i work after a while
Its rip gpu and cpu beacuse its going to get really hit instantly

I could build a 115€ PC for a friend and it beats his 1000€ IMAC at gaming by a mile. Well, he does not complain. He can finally play games with us.
Ulfgar-Septimus von Stahlenberg that BS. Just Install windows on his imac and He will BE able to Most Games medium High Resolution while still getting good FPS. ITS the OS Not the hardware
well no shit macs arent meant for gaming lol
hando hall no lol, that cheap of an imac probably cant run csgo
kifla IT can easily. The Hardware in imacs isnt that Bad you can Play almost everything with IT. The only Thing IS IT IS crazy overpriced
hando hall haha no, so the cheapest imac you can get is 1300 euro which means the one this guy has is worse and older. It has a dual core i5 with integrated graphics, which is extremely shitty and cant play at high with good fps lmao

tis gud two c
what mobo u got and where from? i been needing something for my i7 920 forever!
Lul I can't even find a used r9 270 for $80...
i got a 980 and 960 SC 2.0 or w/e its called for $100 a piece about 8 months ago...the 980 a friend is using and we found it in a resale shop popular on FB with a damaged box! worked perfectly and even had a 30 day warranty...price on it was $140 but got em down to 100 and the 960 bought off craigslist
NoSkillzJustGillz lol and people are now trying to sell 980s for 500+ 😂

I picked up a HD 6950 2GB on eBay for $20/£15. Runs games really well.
7870 still beats the GTX 1050 in some games. If you have a good power supply already and can get a deal, it's definitely a good card
SvD KILLSWITCH does it outperform a reference gtx 780? Honest question
I got a delidded 3770k and Sabertooth Z77 for 180€, that cpu is great
SvD KILLSWITCH um wromg.. hes using sapphire hd 7870 which is couple hundred dollars.. hes bullshitting
Randomness but in the budget idea.
Cloudy/Clear silicon on a RGB{NOT RGBW, it has white} strip helps minimize/stop the "rainbow" effect when set to white.

Yeah pretty sure that Firestrike result is better than a 1050/7700hq laptop I just tested lol, all for about the price the 1050 would cost :p
Love the music change, and it's nice to see an extreme budget build once again !

Aiden Whyte damn nice man!
love old budget friendly pc's... only things I would suggest about it... Hyper 212 evo - $15USD & Used 120GB ssd - around $20-$30 USD. Both seem worth it even in this type of budget build.
Price of new 8 gig DDR3 is not bloody cheap lately
Yeah, 8GB DDR3 for $25 US would be a steal nowadays. I got lucky and got 6x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 for next to nothing, but even a 4GB stick of that can be like $35 at least on ebay.

Cheap used Xeons are usually where all these builds start.
Xeons cpus are for online servers not gaming.
Brain bringing back the console killers :)
*IMPORTANT* If you wonna buy gaming pc better build your own and it's gonna be cheaper and better!
The CPU cooler looks dope
QUESTION : CAN U DO A BUILD VIDEO ON i5 2500k
Mmichex Nice! But don't you think the 1070 is a bit too powerful for Sandy bridge?
Mmichex Oh, nice! I was thinking of buying one off of eBay
Mmichex um... An i3-3220 with Intel HD graphics..it's an all in one
I'm trying to upgrade :c

I'm all for budget PC's 6 years ago i built a new PC for 900$ US, it was a FM1 socket motherboard
GA-A75-UD4H, wasn't cheap at all back in 2011, i cant really remember witch cpu i had in there I'm pretty sure it was a dual core 2.7ghz, i got a 500gig hdd and 500w power supply, and a nvidia 450gts gpu in there. With 4 gigs of ram.

Thank you for making this vid!!! Being an old school nerd (I started with DOS 3.1) and need to get my feat wet on a newer platform with limited $$$. My Dell I3 laptop works but I need more kick. The CPU is on it's already on the way.
i bought my HD7970 new for 200€ back in 2013. Still using it :) greetings from Austria ! NOT Australia :P
yeah that is what im talking bout, used parts nice overclocks,$$$ thumbs up
My hopes were up until I realized you have to build it...
Building seems easy
Song in the background is Spitfire - Infected Mushroom
In games like Fortnite you set your viewing distance as high as possible and everything else depending of your system resources. There is no point to sacrifice viewing distance for AA or shadow details.
Your the man Brian! Fun build.
Please make a video of the x3430. Looking forward to buying one.
I happen to have an X3430 in my HTPC paired with a GTX780, and I know why. ;) Nice video! :)
Interesting use of infected Mushroom in the timelapses lol
That AMD FineWine tech showing its worth.
This should be on par with either the Xbox One or PS4
And i even ran fortnite everything on EPIC, with a Core 2 Quad Q9450 and a Asus GTX 1050TI Expedition + 4GB DDR2 800mhz ram (OCz Platinums), at around 80 fps.
Update: I'm running it on a Asus Maximus II Formula, but im having a really hard time overclocking, since it won't post when over 400 FSB
And here we have people saying gaming is expensive...
would actually love Bryan to play LoL and Dota 2 with this PC
Crazy budget build, esp. the silicone cooler. What software do you use for OSD for games? Cheers.
turn shadows off, post processing to low, effect to low rest to high or epic and you are good to go
I couldn’t believe it until I saw it
This pc beats my 1k laptop.. Got it before i knew anyhitng about specs :')
i have a 7850 stored away , as i bought a r9 290x 4gb earlier this year for about the same price i bought a 7850 4 years ago, the psu consumption is higher but the graphics are a bit smoother but i think the motherboard limits it, i got an ssd to just assist with performance and it did actually but limited size for games :/ but the 7870 is pretty good on med settings for overwatch and decent for modern fps on med 1080p
Denver Naicker what cpu
You should pop that new youtube background on ;) Great video man im looking into that cpu asap!
Nice video dude, keep going! :)
This is a good build if you already have a mobo, because these old mobo's don't come cheap.
I also think you should have made it a 150$ build and buy a better looking case, preferably mini-ATX.
i know cable management does not matter with a closed case but you gonna have to do something better then that..
Great video!
another fun video Brian, thank you

Fortnite its just the best optimized pc game out there
Crazy bro! Crazy!
And I'm not sleeping. I picked up a 270X and a cheap 771 Xeon. Will definitely be making a video challenging yours Brian ;)

Tech Bank I'm looking forward to seeing it!
Awesome build 👍👍👍
All I need to do now (to improve upon it) is get a a more modern hard drive, and an SSD with windows installed and I’m set
