Max, it's great to see the sparkle in your eyes again. Grief doesn't have a timeline, and grief in the public eye is even harder. Glad you are finding your way back to living life again. I hope thaat someday, when you are ready you can have what Jess and Sam have. You have so much to give. Keep finding joy, keep showing us Occy, and keep taking us on your adventures!
Totally agree, he's such a Great person, totally deserves the best, he is taking his time healing & it looks like he's doing a great job, very healthy .. so much luck to Occy & Max!!!
Love you Max & of course Occy too. Your hard inner work & drive (no pun intended there) is bringing you right along. Don’t hide your feelings from your Mum or us again, no matter what they are. Yes, we all want you to be happy but if you’re sad or especially clinically depressed, please know we’re here & won’t abandon you or your channel. You can cry on our shoulders, not just be happy & full of fun. Btw, I’m always interested in knowing what you’re reading so share the titles w/us if you don’t mind. You’re such a good man. Wishing you the best & the means to cope with the not so good. xx 🐾🌀✌🏼
The frame when you mentioned spending 2000 dollars on air conditioning for Occy's health and comfort, and the shot of him side gazing at you like, "not my problem" when you throw down the receipts😂 He is adorable!
I spent so much time with him Vicki! I don't think many people had spotted him before as he was way more camo than the others and as a result he was just as curious of me. Nature is the best!
@@MaxandOccy CAMO, oh my goodness! I have never seen a turtle with a 'coat' like THAT...didn't know if the little guy wanted help to get it off or really dug it...how surprising (for me, anyway) lol

Max, I have been teaching swimming for 29 years. I tell my clients that if one can swim in 2 feet of water, one can swim in 20 feet or 900m. And I tell them about you diving off Nanji in 900m. Clients are always shocked. 👌 😳😍🤣

Another beautiful and fascinating video Max!! I love seeing you on this adventure with Sam and Jess. You just look so happy and healthy. I am amazed at how much the landscape changes from video to video and was pretty surprised to see your breath in the start of the video. Also, you sure don’t need to apologize for the video content. Everything you put out is super fun and entertaining. Finally, Occy’s grooming looks great!!
Love watching Occy. He has such a big personality, and reminds me of my previous dog, also an Aussie. Despite his long thick coat he only shed twice a year, spring and fall. Summer and winter he actually shed very little. He was also bouncy and full of life right up to the end, and loved to hunt everything, including rats, skunks, racoons, and coyotes! We sadly lost him to cancer at age 13.5.
wonderful to see you looking happier and relaxed. I imagine travelling in convoy with your friends makes alot of difference. Occie looks grand and it's great he's got a playmate on this trip (who is also gorgeous). love from the UK xx
Thanks so much for talking about double coat dogs. We've had Aussies for almost 30 years. Can't believe how often we've had to explain to people why we don't clip them.
We also have Aussies (I think our current girl is our 5th one). We made the mistake of shaving our large black tri once. He looked terrible. Never made that mistake again.
Max, I am so thrilled that you are finally in a good place. When I lost my mother just before the pandemic I became extremely depressed and found it super hard to find joy again. About 5 years ago I lost the love of my life that I had been with for over 10 years to my best friend so I was doubly hurt. I know how difficult that is too! But I'm very happy for you to get that yearning to live life the way you want again!!!!! I would probably have healed quicker if I lived the van life in the beautiful places you have gone!!!
Occy is such an incredibly beautiful dog. You deserve each other so much. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Wishing you 10's of 1000's of hassle-free kilometres ahead. Stay safe.
Thanks for always explaining how important it is not to shave the double coated breeds (we also have a double coated breed). You explain it very well. So glad to hear you’re getting your spark back!
I gotta tell you Max, I rarely comment. To me, comments need to be meaningful and worthy of a comment. I’ve watched for so long now, through everything that you and Occy have been through, so I sort of feel worthy of a comment. So here goes. The best part of the video was sadly, the windshield disaster. Everyone’s verbal reactions to it. But what I’d like to say in the end is, somehow I can feel you are slowly returning to you. And I don’t even know you. Through your struggles, whilst this effing world struggles, you seem to be shining and on top of the world. And that makes me happy. Good job you!!
Not sure why the windshield disaster was the best part of the video?? Love you and Max, love all your videos and so glad that you are starting to move on with your life. Keep up the good vibes. You are an awesome inspiration to others.
Well, as usual, one size does not fit all dogs and all situations. There ARE times that shaving down (not to bald, looks like a short flatter coat) is the best thing to do and gives them great relief, like for some older dogs or any dogs less able to cope with heat. Also for swimming dogs it can be helpful for the summer, they dry thoroughly and quickly, good for them and for the owners. It sacrifices the beauty of the coat but can improve things for the dog. Many things to consider. (My career was in dogs, training, grooming, rescue, rehab - I understand about double coats but also know enough to know how to assess other factors.)
Thank you max for walking us thru occhys breed and his hair/fur layers...very educational. All I have seen is your very attentive care of your mate and how his health and best interest is always so apparently at the top of your list. You take really wonderful care of each other. Love our doggos.
We love you and Occy. And Lee remains in thought, too. Love that you're getting better and better. Love your friends, how fun that you've been able to travel with your buddies.
There is a new crocodile (Peacock?) hunter in Australia and his name is Occy! We have a Shetland sheepdog who has a double coat as well and I concur, never shave your double coated pup. Thank you for another visually stunning video. Happy Trails!
A tip for Sam. Leave the sheet on the topper and fold it away with it on it. That’s what we do. Quicker to put away and quicker and less work when making the bed.
Bless. It’s great to see the great fun Max back on screen. I can definitely see you coming back, you’ve been overcoming hell for the past few years. Hello again. Nice to see you back. ❤️ all we need now for you is to find love again. You need it. ❤️
So great to see life and soul improving for you, Max. Occy, of course, is fabulous as always. Agreed on all points about not shaving a fuzzy dog like Occy. I've owned malamutes and never shaved them for the reasons you mentioned - the top coat and wooly undercoat work to regulate body temperature and protect from sunburn. And if you do shave them, the hair grows back with a problematic texture that makes the coat mat badly and easily.
AS ALWAYS.....LOOK FORWARD TO MAX AND OCCY POSTING FOR ALL OF US!!!! THANKS MAX FOR ANOTHER TRUE VID POST.....SPEAK FOR EVERYONE HERE...... VERY GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! NOT SURE IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DO FOR THE PEOPLE WATCHING AND THEIR MENTAL HEALTH!!!!!!! BETTER THAN XANAX 🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍

Do Sam & Jess have a latch on that door to keep it open for the dog when driving? (Thinking of the bumpy exploits you've both had so far this trip)
Lovely vlog Max🤗. Thanks for info on Okky and his coat.. That was really interesting to learn 👍. Great that you have such wonderful friends to travel with. Loved this vlog👍.. Seeing all the places I did on my road tip back in 2000. At the start looked like Devils Marbles. The Daily Waters pub hasn't changed much in the last 22yrs!.. Just a few more bras, photos and stickers🤣. I remember visiting Larrimah.. It was the end station for the railway line from Darwin.. Those steamy, clear blue water photos.. Was that the thermal springs at Mataranka? If so, I loved it there! A great stop on the northern part of Stuarts Highway. I remember swimming at Katherine Gorge to cool off (our guide there told us it was safe).. Then across on the other bank we spotted freshies. Then we spotted a cage in the water and asked what it was for and we were told "to catch salties that occasionally make it this far inland!"😱.. We got out quite quickly🤣. I hope you go to Kakadu NP. I did the Yellow River Cruise.. Even though touristy, it was breathtaking. I also loved Litchfield NP with the giant termite hills, Fogg Dam lilies and all the waterfalls. Wangi Falls was great for a swim. Excited to see what you do up around Darwin👍😊. Glad you are starting to "find yourself"👏👍😊.. I hope I do someday. I feel I am still a long way off. But my therapist is great and thinks once my (now in yr 6) divorce is final from my narssistical ex-husband, things will get easier. You are an inspiration👍🙂.
Max, so glad to hear that you're feeling better and moving towards living in lightness again. The darkness of depression and grief can be so weighing, it's hard for people that haven't experienced it to understand. You've done a superb job of getting the word out about mental health and so glad you've taken your own advice to wellness. Have fun on your journeys!
Looks like you are having a great time. I also have an Aussie and people ask me all the time why don’t I shave home for summer and have to explain it is not good for them and other breads to shave their fur off. Occy is the best. I look forward to future videos.
What an incredible shot you got of that turtle! I've never seen a turtle like that in my life, not on Nat Geo, anywhere! Thank you for sharing your amazing journey with us! Thank you for persevering through such emotional hardship.
So glad to hear you are moving forward Max, it is all about time and getting the right help. I am so happy to support you on your recovery and love seeing you and Occy and to be apart of your adventures. Stay safe 👍🏻😘🐾
Max you are back. I see the spark in you coming back! I am so thankful to see you like 2 years ago. It will go back and forth. So please also post vlogs when you are not so happy in thoughts and other moods. 💯😍🥰🚀🌈🦋🐛🧚♀️🌻💫
Loved traveling up from the Uluru up through Katherine and on up into Darwin, and I especially enjoyed hiking around Katherine, taking a boat tour, seeing the ancient cave art, hiking up into the Garden of Eden and taking a dip into the pond there, which I see you have in your photos. It looks the same, 20 years later. I hope you keep these memories for as long as I have. For a Californian, it was a once in a lifetime trip, for sure.
Hey Max, Great to see you much sooner. Hahaha, I did notice you had put on a bit of weight, but Jess isn't force feeding you Max, she's just making it hard not to eat more, hahahahahaha!!!!! Enjoy it!!! You'll just have to hit the waves a bit more. It's great to see more of you coming back in each video. No rush man, it takes time, just enjoy the journey. Very happy for you Max. It's great that you've been meeting up with old friends and reconnecting, even better that we're getting to meet them. Occy seems back down weight wise to. He was pretty chunky this time last year. I'm just happy for you that you're doing better each time we see you. Thank You Jess and Sam for being there for Max, great to t\meet you both here as well!!! Keep Safe and Always Inspiring Max, Matt - Toronto, Canada
Former dog groomer here, happy to hear you're educated on your dogs coat. Shaving it would never grow back the same, best to deshed as often as possible. Alot of dog owners don't bother to educate themselves of a breed before they buy and dont look after it they way they should 🙂
That was a lovely video Max. So glad you're feeling a bit better and happier now. Nothing else matters, not even a few extra pounds, as long you feel genuine happiness in your soul.
Occasionally wasn't chasing the peacocks, he was herding them! That's his job. Years ago I had a Queensland blue healer and every time I tried to run somewhere she would herd me. I stopped running when I was around her.
Wow that spot you guys were in the water .. wow that was amazing !!! And that sweet little turtle 😍 I’m proud of you Max, for everything you’ve accomplished these past few years I’ve gotten to know you on here. Wishing you many more adventures
What stunning places you're finding to visit Max. I was a bit concerned about crocs when you were swimming but the wee peekaboo with the turtle was so cute. Good to know you're noticing you're finding more positivity in life, long may it continue. xx
I love the way that Occy shakes from nose to tail when he’s shaking off water! So glad you’re feeling better, thank you for being an example to us all to think about our mental health, especially post-pandemic.
So great to see you and Occy having such a good time with your wonderful ❤️ friends. I went on her Instagram to check out her plant based meals. Yum!! Thank you for the suggestion. And as always I love, love, love Occy. Such a magnificent handsome boy, especially groomed! He is a keeper. I have a picture of Occy on my phone and he ALWAYS makes me smile. 😊
Much respect Max and Occy!! Love this channel and content, the causes you support, but also wanted to say 10 THUMBS UP and support on your explanation for not shaving down the perfect natural cooling system that is also the beauty of Occy's lovely coat! Happy travels to you both from Washington, USA. in Washington, in our hot summers, NOBODY is shaving down their heavy coated animals like the lovely domesticated wolf breeds and it wouldn't be good for the dogs to do so.
Thank you for showing us Larrimah! I really enjoyed the podcast and it was pretty cool to see sights mentioned in it. Hopefully there can be some justice soon for Paddy & his pup Kellie.
Max, it’s obvious that Occy is # 1. Your footage is so beautiful. As you heal, it will show more and more of your spark. Thanks for showing your world. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Max, I can't help but feel so much love when I see the friendship and love you have for Occy.....for each other. So beautiful. I obviously don't personally know you but your beautiful soul shines through. So good you are travelling with friends. Love from South Australia x
We loved the Lost in Larrimah podcast .... you are not the only one wanting to escape the cold, here in the northern rivers we've had a real fire going for weeks ... Baby Turtle wins cutie wildlife of the week :)
Great video Max and no wonder the groomers thought Occy was 2, he’s so full of energy and bounce. I have a Shetland sheepdog (sheltie) and they’re also double coated, I get the same question during our South Aussie summers, usually while she’s laid out in the sun on the concrete soaking it up 🙄 How awesome to have mates on the road, glad to see you looking so well.
Haven't been on your channel for awhile. You've come a long way Baby. You look happier - more like your old self before all the past stuff. Beautiful outdoor photography. Good seeing Occy again. Good wishes and blessings in you travels.
My favorite episode so far. Loved the swimming turtle, the background story and oddness in Larimah, the beautiful van tour. Plus Occy always brings a smile to my face. Keep enjoying your travels!
Sounds like bad Ju Ju, I Remember watching this some time ago, I don’t believe that case will ever be solved! Rather like Peter Falconio, never found, and another case of a missing Policeman a few years ago in QLD. More to these stories that just don’t add up. Glad Max was there short time only..
Don’t know if I’m right but in the last couple video I can see the difference with your editing and if I’m right keep doing the great job it’s really nice! I’ve been following for a couple years now , and I’m glad to see you was one of my inspiration to do Vanlife and I am happy to say I am one month into Vanlife I Australia right now.
Holy moly, from the very first shot, what an excellent video! Your videography and storytelling skills were never poor but they continue to grow and impress. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and documenting such gorgeous places with kindness and respect. The Occy content is always sheer perfection 🤌
You deserve all happiness coming your way. I am so happy to hear you say the spark is coming back. Make sure to tell yourself that you are entitled to feel good and enjoy every minute of the rest of your life! Occy looks so good, love that fluffy pupp! Thank you for sharing Max, it is the only way for me as a Scandinavian to visit Australia at the moment. One day i hope to go down there! Take care!
Sometimes it just takes a bit of time to get through the rough patches. I am so glad to see you smiling and seeing the joy in life again. And that Occy is such a little cutie!💜
I cannot even begin to tell you what a strong, incredible, man you are. REALLY. So inspiring. I'm going through a really hard time, and you pick me up.
I loved this video Max. It had a little bit of everything! Also, hats off to you on your nature clips in the beginning. Wow! I really saw your creativity there. Love the occy clips, always. Sam and Jess are such great blessings, I could see why they’re your great friends. Cheers to more travels together!
Loved the underwater shot of the little turtle. He looked like he was playing with you. So beautiful there. This video with the quirky towns and your travel buddies was so much fun. And happy Occy has a friend. Great job Max.
Wow that true crime story/town was pretty interesting. Also, that turtle was super cute and Occ’s new cut was top 👌🏻 Another great episode and really lovely to see you getting your spark back. Much love to you and the gang xx
WOW, Max, this was a vlog like none other before - REALLY makes one stop and remember that we are all humans sharing the same planet yet leading such dramatically different and interesting lives - thanks so much!
Hey, Max!!! So great to see you again! Glad you are feeling better!!!! Hope you have laid off the drinking!!! Glad you and Occy are well! It is Summer, here in the USA. Very hot!!!! We TH-cam followers love you and always wish you well!!! Happy trails and happy tails!!!
Thank you for your honesty and inspiration. I've have several years of illness and family deaths. You give me hope that a person can come out of a place of emptiness and grief and rise to begin to live creatively, laugh and live in the moment. I also feel your gratitude for your friends and Occy. Relationships that give us the opportunity to give and receive move us forward to greater health and happiness. Please continue to share yourself and your journey. Blessings of peace, Bevan

So proud of you Max. You’ve put in the work. You deserve nothing less than everything.
I've always wanted to go to Australia one day. Thanks for the views and adventures. Occy is such a sweet dog.
Max you are back. I see the spark in you coming back! I am so thankful to see you like 2 years ago. It will go back and forth. So please also post vlogs when you are not so happy in thoughts and other moods. 💯😍🥰🚀🌈🦋🐛🧚♀️🌻💫
I could say, Occy is the luckiest dog in the world and at the same time the most behave... 🐶 🐕
Hey Max,
Great to see you much sooner.
Keep Safe and Always Inspiring Max,
Matt - Toronto, Canada
One thing I do not miss about Australia are those damn birds 😆 you don’t need an alarm clock when you have the birds lol!
I so enjoy your content. Honest, sometimes raw, but real. The videos are breathtaking. Thank you.
Wow that spot you guys were in the water .. wow that was amazing !!! And that sweet little turtle 😍 I’m proud of you Max, for everything you’ve accomplished these past few years I’ve gotten to know you on here. Wishing you many more adventures
Light always follows the darkness. Welcome back to your light, Max. ❤️
So pleased to see how happy you are! Love you guys especially Occy! Sending hugs from a fellow vegan in Johannesburg SA Keep enjoying your travels 😊🤗
Happy that you and Occy are loving life again...🥰👍🐕🍺🍻
Loving this Outback series so much! No better way to enjoy my Sunday morning coffee, then on the road with you, Occy, Sam, Jess, and Alfred! 😍
Love that! Thanks for joining Stacey 💛
Great to hear you are healing and feeling brighter…..kisses to occy..blessings..🏴🥰❤️
We loved the Lost in Larrimah podcast .... you are not the only one wanting to escape the cold, here in the northern rivers we've had a real fire going for weeks ... Baby Turtle wins cutie wildlife of the week :)
WOW! That was amazing. ACTION PACKED! 😁🤣 THANKS to ALLLLL of you and dearest, extremely well nurtured OCCY! 👌😍🥳💞😘
Great video Max and no wonder the groomers thought Occy was 2, he’s so full of energy and bounce. I have a Shetland sheepdog (sheltie) and they’re also double
coated, I get the same question during our South Aussie summers, usually while she’s laid out in the sun on the concrete soaking it up 🙄
How awesome to have mates on the road, glad to see you looking so well.
Happy to see you getting your spark back. Your videos are so enjoyable for us, it’s nice to know behind the lens you’re enjoying the journey.
Glad you're feeling better Max and enjoying life. Community and time does wonders for healing!
Thanks for sharing Max and Occy! Agree, interesting little town with quite a bit of historic drama between neighbors! Hope both of you are ok!
Hello Mr Sparkle. Lovely to see you happy and enjoying your amazing life with Occa and all your lovely friends 😊
The opening sequence blew me away! Keep following that spark.
I love your videos, look forward to them. Your relationship with Occy is heart warming.
Loved the underwater shot of the little turtle. He looked like he was playing with you. So beautiful there. This video with the quirky towns and your travel buddies was so much fun. And happy Occy has a friend. Great job Max.
👍👍👍for all you three! Lotsa fun!
Wow that true crime story/town was pretty interesting. Also, that turtle was super cute and Occ’s new cut was top 👌🏻 Another great episode and really lovely to see you getting your spark back. Much love to you and the gang xx
We love watching your videos! Our border collie was barking at the crow in the background.
Enjoy Darwin
Good to see you smiling Max!
💛💛💛
Beautiful Mataranka! When I was there no power. Crystal clear springs to sit in.
It's great to see you & Occy both happy & living life👍
Love this one- you ARE fining your Mojo again by the looks of it. Hugs young man - wishing you and MAX love and health!
I can feel the mood change, 💖 thank you Max and Occy. Lots of love to you all. Enjoy your journey.
WOW, Max, this was a vlog like none other before - REALLY makes one stop and remember that we are all humans sharing the same planet yet leading such dramatically different and interesting lives - thanks so much!
Looks like a happy doggo too!
Such a great video, made me cry, happy tears you're getting your spark back, and laugh! Sending lots of love and hugs and hope and peace 💕✌❤
Turtle was amazing - gorgeous spot.
Occy looked so handsome after grooming!

Beautiful friends you have Max. Thanks to Jessica and Sam for their van tour. I pray that you will get full spark ahead. Thank you and God Bless.
Watching from the States, high up in the Rockies. So good to see vanlife Australia! Beautifully put together video
Jess and Sam need their own channel as well. Glad you are all enjoying your travels together.
Thanks for sharing. I’m sure that Sam will feel better after a few weeks of your blogging. I’m glad you have some friends to spend some time with. Enjoy the sun….
