Beautiful shells, beautiful day! Love the way you phrase things, (13:43) “the beach didn’t hug him too many times”. 😊 Love your videos, thank you so much!
I've been looking forward to this for hours! One day, I'll get to go shelling again and it's gonna be so much better, thanks to you! That SKY was REMARKABLE!
Good morning, Wow, very beautiful shells today as always. The murexs both kinds are amazing. The jujubee top shell, true tulips, nutmegs, the pink scallop, all the calico scallops are very lively today, fighting conks, horse conks, olives, banned tulips, alphabet cones, lighting whelkes. There are just so many beautiful shells. The beach time is always great. Thank you for a wonderful shelling adventure. Have a great day.😊
After a terrible stressful day I am so glad to have watched and walked through the beautiful beach with you and just be able to enjoy Gods gifts to us at trying times. To remind us to be grateful and thankful for all things🙏
I love to see all the shells you find laid out, and the way you recap. Such a beautiful place. 😍👏👏 Thank you for making these wonderful videos. 💕 It is a shell paradise.
That FL cone at about 12 minutes is the prettiest one I've ever seen! However, I don't think I could have pulled myself off that island with everything I'm seeing. Amazing amount of nutmegs and AC's! And gaudiest! Cool oyster! I've never seen one like that either. Suggestion: when you're in "shell paradise", please don't limit yourself to around 30 minutes!😊❤️ xxoo
I have learned I can tackle about one 30-minute video per week, give or take a few minutes. If it's all good stuff I'll break it into (2) videos but if it's just more of the same I'll usually just cut it down to 30. I am normally worried that I won't have anything to edit but lately I've been doing so much shelling I might need to drop some extra videos!
A colourful species are usually less colourful with a more blurry pattern when the shells get larger. The Alphabet cone is Conus spurius, which translates as the Illegitimate Cone. I don't know why it is called Spurius. Lots of Noetia ponderosa pairs as well. Great for making a 3D puzzle in a jar, a ponderous puzzle...
Sharmon you have the right stuff!!! Your videos are amazing, from the sound & video quality; the scenery & critters; to the gorgeous beach treasures! Love that beachy goodness!!! 💕👍💯👍💕
What a fun day! Here’s a fun fact. At 14:19, you are looking at a large top snail. On your ring finger is the tiniest shell larvae of some kind. Just happened to notice it. Had to do a double take. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Kice Kice baby!! never disappoints doesn’t Kice. The way the tree stumps were today makes it look like a setting for Jurassic Park. And did you notice that huge bird nest? i love Kice. Stay safe chick xx
That osprey nest is like a "marker" on the island 🤣 You can't very well go by the dead trees! It's such a cool island. Just about zero shade, but the shells!!!!
❤such a beautiful sunrise. Blessings always admired. Just the sound of the water is so peaceful and calming And then you find the most amazing shells. Just love
Thank you so much for this island getaway, it was much needed this evening. Wow, the shells were so spectacular in their quantities and varieties. Your haul is just beautiful!
Hi Sharmon! Love this adventure on Kice. My favorite place to shell. You picked an awesome time to shell. After a storm is the greatest. All those cones , gaudy's and nutmegs are my favorite shells to find and Kice does not disappoint! Thanks for a lovely Sunday of beach time! Have a great week.
I'm so glad I found your site. I live 25 miles south of Birmingham so the beach is an easy drive. Until recently I didn't have a way to travel with my puppies. I now have a small motorhome so we are getting ready for a beach trip.
Went to Honeymoon Island yesterday! Found my first horse conch and an alphabet cone! Yea 🎉! Talked to a gentleman who found a junonia the day before. ❤️
So, because of your “channel”, I took a boat tour here this summer with Sand dollar tours and had the time of my life . This island is amazing and I wouldn’t have even known it existed without your videos. Thanks for what you do.
It’s amazing to see Gods creations. I would love to come to Florida to do some shelling . I would have a field day right there where you are at. I would probably bring a 5 gallon bucket or two of shells back home with me to Texas. Lol.
That new shell, clam, or whatever it was was so interesting the way it fastened. The closure almost looked like it was rivets almost man made fastener type, soooo pretty!
Thanks so much for the web addresses of possible “shell ID sites”. I know that they will be very useful in the future. I played stop-&-go with the video while I wrote down the addresses. Thanks again 😀
Hello Beach Angel and all you would be beach combers! Before I forget it, friends, I wanted to pass along some information that might save you some time and aggravation. ACE Hardware is no longer carrying the Acid Magic for cleaning shells, as Sharmon showed us in her latest shell cleaning video. Neither do Lowe's or Home Depot. Amazon still does and they have it in bottles of several sizes and price points. Now, I'm ready to go to the beach with all of you! What a gorgeous sunrise! That's the way to start the day! Perhaps it is the herald of a great shelling day? I hope so! Wow, what an amazing shelling day you had, Sharmon! I don't often get green-eyed watching your videos, but this one was mighty tempting! So many beautiful shells to puck up, so many varieties in color and shape! You seem like a kid in a candy store! Well, I've made.me decision. Kice is definitely going to the top of my bucket list! Thank you so much for taking all of us along with you, dear Beach Angel! I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that it was a blast! Much love to all from here in the beautiful autumnal Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee! Rebecca, The Lost Mermaid
Well darn on Ace Hardware not having Acid Magic any longer but I see that Walmart has it. Probably a good idea to just do a quick google search before buying anything these days! Kice is always so much fun. I've found the most interesting shells there. I'm glad it's an island that can't be accessed easily. It keeps it more special that way 🥰
Ahhhh!! Fantastic video! After u found the true tulip i saw an oyster looking thing...love the asymm otsters. They can b sooo beautiful. Thanks for showing the flat oysters!! My son has actually taken a liking to ponderous arcs. Common there but not here in ohio! I have a few of them and he took them for himself and set them on his desk area! I suppose to study the ponderous arcs mayb gave me a bit more appreciation for a common shell!!!
Don't tell anyone but some of the common shells are my favorites. The olives with their natural shine and the fighting conchs with their patterns and colors. Don't even get me started on the scallops! 😂
Kice island never disappoints you. Always beautiful shells to find. It would be shell heaven to me if I went there. A gorgeous day out there for shell hunting.
Great day!!! So many great finds! I just loved Kice! If it hadn’t been so stinking hot when I was there, I think I could have stayed all day, but my kayak was leaving, ha! It is a magical place!
Oh, Boy! I've been looking forward to a visit on Kice Island (home of the Wentletrap, and of course, many other beautiful shells). Thanks, Sharmon 🐚 😎 ⛱️
What an awesome haul! So many great finds.... love the nutmegs and that interestingly marked Florida cone. So glad to see some Fl fighting conchs... I know you pass them up until the end since they are heavy, but it was killing me to see so many in some of these shots that were left behind. Maybe your hubby can go along sometime to carry them and you can pick up a boat load of them. I'd love to see that!
You are the best! SWF BEACH LADY!! ❤I love your beach seashell 🐚 excursions !! Going to be traveling to Hawaii soon and would love tips on a seashell 🐚 book to take with me ❤Thanks for sharing ❣️You’re very encouraging and I love the beach 🏝️ ❤, sincerely, Virginia Lady.
You should have kept the fish filleting knife. A very good brand knife! The top snails were so big!!! Guess if I get to SWF, I will go to Kice Island. You didn't pick up a few shells I would have grabbed. Oh well. Looking forward to next week's video! Have a great week!
I only have one complaint. Your videos do not last long enoughl . Especiall when you go to Kice Island. Thank you for sharing what you do, I love yor video's and can't wait until next Sunday.
That was such a wonderful shelling time at Kice Island ! I have been in Cuba for the past week and I did not find too many shells but I found a murex ramosa I had to look it up because I had no idea what kind it was but it’s beautiful it’s like a lace murex with spikes or horns it’s very beautiful with white and dark brown . I also found a Florida fighting conch, a perfect pointy shiny lettered olive, a sundial and a little chestnut turbin. Also lots of calico clams and imperial venus clams here in Varadero ! All in all not tons of shells but very nice ones that I will treasure forever. 🏖️😎🐚☀️
@@luannski6895 small ones you find yes, you can bring them no problem it’s not the customs in Canada that will not let you bring them I know Cuba won’t let you take some out of the country if it comes from protected areas like Cayo Largo. But from Varadero where I am there’s no problem.
@@luannski6895 marie-sohie4's response was quite interesting. I've brought shells into the U.S. from France and from New Zealand and Australia. I was stopped one time by Customs, as I erred on the side of caution and made sure I declared "sea shells" (even though nothing I read said that there were any restrictions). But the reason I was stopped was because the Customs guy wanted to see what I'd found. 😄 He was properly appreciative!!
I assume Cuba is like our coasts and that different beaches will have different treasures. That must have been really fun to hunt shells there. That murex ramosa sounds awesome! I want to go to Turks and Caicos and go shell hunting 🐚
Beautiful day, beautiful oyster with those layers and unique hinge. As usual, a lot of all the cool shells from Kice. Oh, and another gorgeous white(ish) FFC. Do you wear different shelling shoes for Kice. I mean, mine have soles, but they're still pretty light. Anyway, thanks for the wonderful trip!
I have a sneaker-like beach shoes I wear when I go to Kice. It's just a little better than those super flimsy ones I normally wear on the beach. I have to wear socks with the sneaker-like shoes or they leave me with skin missing here and there. I've yet to find the perfect shoe! amzn.to/48VOTzN
In the depths of the undersea world, a group of mollusks gathered in a cool dimly lit coral cavern called "The Clamorous Cove Casino". Their shells glistening with iridescent hues. The grand chamber was awash in a radiant blue and green glow, courtesy of bio-luminescent corals and the shimmering red and pink Spanish Dancers (beautiful Nudibranchs) elegantly undulating as aquatic showgirls. They'd come together for a night of aquatic amusement, a Vegas-like card game that was the highlight of their sub-aquatic social calendar. The host for the evening, a suave hermit crab known as Crusty Clyde, welcomed them with an experienced wave of his claw. A tray of "Seafoam Smoothies" and a beach bowls of Kelp popcorn and Barnacle Bites were placed on the table in readiness for the games ahead. As the game began, the atmosphere was electric, (or as electric as it gets underwater) and a trio of snails named Shelly, Shelldon, and Shelliqua, lounged around a lavish table put together from sunken treasure chest, their eyes glittering with anticipation. Clyde, with his signature bow-tie and monocle, shuffled the deck of scallop flat cards with finesse. The mollusks exchanged knowing glances, each concealing their hand within their intricately patterned shells. Shelliqua, always the show-off, boasted, "I've got a Royal Flush of the Sea, a hand so rare it's like finding Atlantis in your backyard!" Shelldon, forever the optimist, chimed in, "And I've got the Neptune's Nines, a humble hand with a touch of ocean magic." Shelly, the trickster of the bunch, winked and said, "Well, folks, I've got the Coral Con, so don't count your tentacles just yet!" As the game progressed, whispers spread that Shelly was using a "sleight of hand" to cheat. Accusations swirled like a whirlpool, and the mollusks' snail-paced chaos ensued. Shelliqua's shell spun in a frenzy and she nearly choked on a Barnacle Bite, and Shelldon hid beneath his shell, unable to handle the drama. Clyde's monocle fell off in shock as he struggled to regain control. Amidst the underwater turmoil, Shelly defended herself with a grin, "Sleight of hand? Please! I'm just the fastest snail in the sea!" She reached slowly into her shell and revealed her Coral Con, and to everyone's amazement, it had transformed into a magnificent Serpent's Straight. The mollusks were left flabbergasted, their sluggish movements a testament to their bewilderment. Shelly had pulled off the ultimate mollusk magic trick, leaving her friends in awe. Clyde, ever the gracious host, adjusted his monocle, and with a chuckle, he declared, "Well, ladies and gentlemen, it appears that tonight, the undersea world has witnessed the greatest spectacle of mollusk poker history! Shelly, you've won fair and square." As the evening at the "Clamorous Cove" continued, the mollusks decided to switch from the poker table to the grand undersea roulette game. Clyde unveiled a magnificent roulette wheel that glistened with opulence. The wheel was a spectacle in itself, with its main body sculpted from a long gone polished coral, studded with radiant pearls for numbers, and multicoloured intricate seaweed vines twirling around its outer rim where tiny sea creatures weaved in and out , going about their dizzy day with the occasional one being flung off as the wheel spun. The wheel was mounted on a sturdy bed of smooth sand worn sunken shipwreck wood that showed just one letter "T" of the vessels original name giving it a touch of elegance and history. Clyde explained the rules to the excited mollusks, "Distinguished shell-dwellers, let's dive into the world of roulette! Simply place your bets on a number or color, and we'll spin the wheel to see where fortune swims." The mollusks gathered around the roulette table, each selecting their lucky numbers or colors. Shelliqua chose "Aqua Blue 7," Shelldon picked "Sapphire Shell 21," and Shelly, still riding high on her poker win, went for "Emerald Eights."With a confident sweep of Clyde's claw, he spun the ornate wheel, sending it into a slow motion spin. The wheel swirled with a soft hum, as the undersea creatures watched in anticipation. The bubbles and currents in the spiraling water lent an air of suspense to the proceedings. The wheel slowed and slowed, and the mollusks held their breath as they watched the beautiful iridescent polished pearl marker come to a stop. The room erupted in cheers and laughter as the marker landed on "Emerald Eights," much to Shelly's delight. The undersea roulette game had brought a new level of excitement to the height of the evening. As the mollusks tired and the evening drew to a close the shell-dweller friends reminisced about the unforgettable evening they had shared. They had journeyed from the depths of the sea, they had reveled in the thrill of poker and roulette and the joy of winning would linger in their memories like the gentle caress of ocean currents. They found that even in the depths, amid the glittering treasures of the deep, what truly mattered were the friendships they forged, the moments they cherished, and the camaraderie of friends that transcended species.
My minds eye made this visual somewhere between underwater scenes from the beginning of "The Little Mermaid" to casino scenes in The Last Jedi. I love the idea of a snail with a monocle! I also picture him with a bowtie and collar - no shirt, just a collar with a bowtie and a monocle! I love how creative you are!!
Wow, I LOVE this episode. You found so many amazing cones on Kice - super jealous! Also...the Naticarius verae(Vera's Moon Snail)! I found one of these last summer on Marco Island and was quite intrigued. Super awesome shelling experience as always! 💙🐚
I had been finding those naticarius varae shells and just thought they were weird colored colorful moonsnails. I'm still curious as to what point the shells is a colorful moonsnail and when it's the naticarious varae. There are so many in that "in-between" stage. Happy winter shelling!!
Your videos are so enjoyable! I can’t get out and travel any more and the beach is my favorite place. Every single shell that you find is beautiful but my favorites are the spiny jewel box and the scotch bonnet. You don’t find as many of those as some of the other ones. I look forward to Sunday night and your videos ❤️
I'm going to have to go back to the East Coast to find those scotch bonnets. They are VERY rare on this side of the state so it's such a treat to find them!
I’ve been on Hospice for a little over a year now. Kice Island is on my bucket lists. I lived Gulf Shores for years but never saw what you see. I’m in Fairhope Al now and even looked at flights to Ft. Myers and was shocked!! I think my husband would drive me down, how long do the boats take people out? I want to come so bad. It has finally cooled down!!
The tours typically are 4 hours but some are a bit longer. It's plenty of time to take a quick boat ride to the island and have a few hours to go exploring!
If I lived in southwest Florida, I would do my best to get to Kice Island every day. I would pick up nutmeg after nutmeg and compare all of the beautiful shades of brown.
We have tons of fishing stuff on our shores nice save on the knife before someone steps on it. I love researching stuff. My next shell project is making a rose out of calico scallops and center of a conch as the stem
Thank you for your videos ~ They are such a comfort & so relaxing, with all the bad news going on in the world right now!! I went shelling at Marco Island this summer and I appreciate you teaching me the names of the shells I found
Is the water warm enough to get in in Dec. down there? How’s the shelling in Dec? I loved this weeks shelling so much ,such beauties. Love love love your TH-cam channel!! Yours is the best out there!
December is too cold for me, but depending on what you can tolerate - people go in the water here all year long! Shelling in December is usually pretty fabulous.
Is this terrain difficult to walk on? When there are a lot of what look like little black sticks sticking up, are those hard, or do they bend/break easily? It appears difficult to maneuver on this beach. Beautiful shells today!!!!
You are definitely going to want to wear shoes on Kice. I usually wear my more sturdy beach shoes. The little sticks are hard to walk on, but it's those bigger, short stumps that are dangerous. I normally stub my feet a few times but I don't injure myself...anymore. I've walked into a few tree branches in my time there!
Love your videos, very educational and your voice is amazing!! I have a glass lamp filled with shells and have had a blast identifying the shells I have learned from your videos. There is one in there that has me perplexed. It looks like a Gaudy analytics but the most beautiful light purple markings!
I have a shell book that I like to just leaf through from time to time (I am that much of a shell nerd). It's truly incredible the intricate and beautiful things that snails can make!
What a lovely video!! Kice is awesome! Hope you don’t mind but on another subject…is there public parking on Fort Myers Beach yet and if so, where? Thank you!!☀️🏝🐚🌺
There is plenty of public parking on Fort Myers Beach, however it's on the north end of the island. I have been recommending people take the trolley if they want to get to the south end of the island: www.fortmyersbeach.org/trolleyinfo/
Kice is nice. How about pausing on one of those huge piles you grabbed a shell off and moved away too quickly. It could take the place of a quiet beach moment. I almost choked when you kept moving! Great day at the beach!

I am sorry you had a stressful day, but I'm thrilled I can let you relax a little at the beach with me! 🌴🌊🐚❤️
I love to see all the shells you find laid out, and the way you recap. Such a beautiful place. 😍👏👏 Thank you for making these wonderful videos. 💕 It is a shell paradise.
Doing that last shot with all the shells on the board takes so long, however it is nice to have one reference shot so I know what I found when 😃

Beautiful sunrise. Always a fun trip thank you🤩🤩🤩💖💖
Thanks for coming to the beach with me!! 💜
I would go crazy finding so many fabulous shells. I love the lace murex and the lightning whelks. I was glad you saw that pinkish pear whelk.
let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
Went to Honeymoon Island yesterday! Found my first horse conch and an alphabet cone! Yea 🎉! Talked to a gentleman who found a junonia the day before. ❤️
Outstanding!!! I was up there week before last. I needed turbans for a project. I'm glad that beach was so good to you!
Thanks Sharmon, Kice Island made a beautiful and bountiful beach walk. I bet that shell bag was a bit heavy at the end!!
I think I've injured my neck carrying a heavy shell bag so much!
And yet another beautiful walk I didn't want to end...Lol! Loved that yellow scallop!
I LOVE SUNDAYS AT THE BEACH, WITH THE BEST PICKER ON THE PLANET!!❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎

Kice sure does have a lot of beautiful shells! Thank you for a wonderful time! ❤️🐚

Someday I will come to Florida and go shelling on the Gulf side.
So in the meantime please keep these videos coming.

OMG the trip strip is brilliant! 🤣
That new shell, clam, or whatever it was was so interesting the way it fastened. The closure almost looked like it was rivets almost man made fastener type, soooo pretty!
Another beautiful video with wonderful shells 🐚 ❤.

I am curious to what other people collect when they are out there!
Lots of great finds!! I would be more than happy to watch those other 20 minutes you cut out. Lol. I just can't get enough shelling.
I only have one complaint. Your videos do not last long enoughl . Especiall when you go to Kice Island. Thank you for sharing what you do, I love yor video's and can't wait until next Sunday.
Awe - I panicked for a hot second when I saw complaint 🤣 You got me!
You hit the jackpot with this trip!
🏖️😎🐚☀️
Did customs allow you to bring them in to the country?
Love this!!

I’m really happy for you having fun on the beach! But I’m really jealous😊. You are so lucky !
I am so lucky!
Shelliqua, always the show-off, boasted, "I've got a Royal Flush of the Sea, a hand so rare it's like finding Atlantis in your backyard!"
Shelldon, forever the optimist, chimed in, "And I've got the Neptune's Nines, a humble hand with a touch of ocean magic."
Shelly, the trickster of the bunch, winked and said, "Well, folks, I've got the Coral Con, so don't count your tentacles just yet!"
As the game progressed, whispers spread that Shelly was using a "sleight of hand" to cheat.
Shelly, you've won fair and square."
As the evening at the "Clamorous Cove" continued, the mollusks decided to switch from the poker table to the grand undersea roulette game.
Simply place your bets on a number or color, and we'll spin the wheel to see where fortune swims."
The mollusks gathered around the roulette table, each selecting their lucky numbers or colors.
I love how creative you are!!
aww schucks .. Thanks :) @@SWFBeachLife
@@suzieplum7995I look forward to your stories after each video. Keep’em coming suzieplum, you are a plum wonderful tale teller❤
What a great day you had on kice! Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
WOW, what an amazing video! Beautiful shells!
What an amazing beach day you had!! I loved watching all of your finds!! We want to kayak when we are there in November to Kice. Enjoy your finds
I hope things are well for you. Thank you so much for this video. I really needed some r & r
Great haul! Hope you're well!
Another beautiful day at the beach!! Thank you Shar!
My pleasure!!
If I lived in southwest Florida, I would do my best to get to Kice Island every day. I would pick up nutmeg after nutmeg and compare all of the beautiful shades of brown.
Love that plan!
Kice is on my bucket list, what a wonderful day, thank you so much, I really enjoyed this trip with you, have a wonderful week, see you next Sunday!!
We have tons of fishing stuff on our shores nice save on the knife before someone steps on it.
I love researching stuff. My next shell project is making a rose out of calico scallops and center of a conch as the stem
Your project sounds awesome!
What a great day! Love to shelling with you!
Love your videos. You are very informative. that Nautilus verae I saw in Solace in shelling...he nicknamed it "teddy bear" I think.
Thank you for your videos ~ They are such a comfort & so relaxing, with all the bad news going on in the world right now!! I went shelling at Marco Island this summer and I appreciate you teaching me the names of the shells I found
When I am at the beach there is no place I would rather be. It's so relaxing and FUN!!
My favorite part of Sunday 😊
🥰
I want to find a way to be dropped off first thing in the morning on Kice - and picked up in the late afternoon. Kice is amazing!
You and me both!
I'm sick with Bronchitis and watching you look for seashells. Wish I were there and not sick. lol
Is it good shelling there outside of a storm?
Yes, shelling after a storm is fantastic! I hope you feel better soon!
12:35 olive on the left of the branch in the middle
Is the water warm enough to get in in Dec. down there? How’s the shelling in Dec? I loved this weeks shelling so much ,such beauties. Love love love your TH-cam channel!! Yours is the best out there!
December is too cold for me, but depending on what you can tolerate - people go in the water here all year long! Shelling in December is usually pretty fabulous.
Thank you, look forward to your videos and thank you for sharing your knowledge!
My pleasure!
Beautiful haul! Love the white fighting conch!
Is this terrain difficult to walk on? When there are a lot of what look like little black sticks sticking up, are those hard, or do they bend/break easily? It appears difficult to maneuver on this beach. Beautiful shells today!!!!
I was wondering the same thing, is regular beach shoes ok?
You are definitely going to want to wear shoes on Kice. I usually wear my more sturdy beach shoes. The little sticks are hard to walk on, but it's those bigger, short stumps that are dangerous. I normally stub my feet a few times but I don't injure myself...anymore. I've walked into a few tree branches in my time there!
Thank you for sharing ❤
Nice shelling, beautiful
Hope you did well shelling on the East coast
I was tired but it was fun!
Great video, so many lovelies.
Great podcast and great finds!
Thank you!
I so love those lace merricks….
The lacier the better!
Wow! that was awesome!❤
Thank you! 😄
WOW!!
Kice is nice. How about pausing on one of those huge piles you grabbed a shell off and moved away too quickly. It could take the place of a quiet beach moment. I almost choked when you kept moving!
Great day at the beach!
That's a great idea! I likely had shots like that but I decided to show different shells. And this island is only going to get better as winter comes!
