I am currently using 13 Pro Max and I have no plans of upgrading just yet. Thanks for validating my thoughts! I'll probably wait for another year or two! I'll make the most out of my 13ProMax 😊 All the best!
Got the 13PM literally five hours ago. What a beast.
I was on the fence about upgrading from my 13 Pro Max because the upgrade seemed so minor and the island intrudes more into video. But when I heard reports that the 13 has BETTER battery life I decided not to upgrade. Plus, the iPhone 15 is going to be the major redesign.
It was never a good idea to upgrade from 13 pro in the first place…
I will tell you why the 13th has a better battery as they share the same battery: Always on display

@@RomanianWatchGang Actually,the 14 Pro Max has a very slightly smaller milliamp/hour battery than the 13 Pro Max but there is not a lot of difference.Early battery issues on the 14 Pro Max were down to software bugs that have now been sorted.
I do a ton of photography with my iPhone so I wanted the better camera. But the 13 will do fine for another year.

I love the always on display! Sure it take a few days to get used to but it’s a welcome change. Very happy with my 14 pro max.
Does it drain your battery
I love the always-on display. I do hope Apple later brings to the iPad Pro, while the definition from the 48mp camera sensor is quite incredible. For me it was worth updating for those two features. The Dynamic island does nothing for me.
If you’re waiting for the iPhone 15 because you think it will have usb-c, I would not rely on that.
Despite the EU passing that new law, there are ways around it. (see below)
Apple sees usb-c as only necessary for creation peripherals, which is why they added it to the iPad and Mac, but not the iPhone.
If the only reason to go to usb-c is charging and data transfer, they are more likely to make the iPhone 15 the first fully wireless and port-less iphone. Using only wireless charging (or with a wireless charging puck like the Apple Watch uses), and upgrading to faster wireless data transfers over WiFi6.
The only devices that are required to have usb-c in the EU are ones that have ports. If a device has no ports, it is not required to add one. So that seems like the path Apple is exploring right now. The only question is if they will be ready by next year.
It’s possible they could give in and release a usb-c iphone, but if so, it would probably only be for one year. They have been philosophically against that for years, and pushing towards going port-less for a long time. So my guess is they have a different plan for next year’s iPhone 15 to move them past usb-c entirely.
From the iPhone 13 Pro Max to 14 Pro Max won’t be a big difference other than the Dynamic Island.
I did the upgrade to 14 Pro Max from an XS Max as I had to charge the phone 3-4 times a day.

My 13 PM is the best iPhone I’ve had since the 8 plus. I’ve had every high end iPhone since the 8 plus and every one of them had major battery & cellular issues that even Apple insisted was “normal” my 13 PM is literally perfect and I will never get rid of it. I also won’t try another upgrade until at least the 16

Coming from an Android, do I still go for the 13 PM or the 14 PM? Considering Apple eventually slows down older iPhones when new release, the 14 PM should be more VFM.

To each their own. Had my 13pm since January 2k22. Upgraded from the xr. And I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about it. When I bought it it was barely even fully charged. Like 50% or something and it lasted for 3 days until I had to charge it. I’m sticking w/ this phone. No need for the 14 imho
Which technology is going to disrupt/replace iPhone if we are now at the maturity of the technology life cycle? It's getting boring with incremental upgrades.

Well put together video I recently upgraded to the IPhone 13 Pro Max from my 11 Pro Max and I’ll admit the upgrade is worth it also it was an insurance claim for me so instead of getting another 11 pro max I got the surprise 13 pro max which is worth it. Longer battery life new design on the edges from rounded to square boxed edges nicer user experience and over all I love my 13 Pro Max more then my 11 Pro Max but in comparison to the 14 pro max I’ll be frank the listed specs truly don’t justify the $1,200.00 cost when I paid $300.00 for my 13 Pro Max and even if you removed the cost factor there’s so much to offer on the 13 Pro Max that unless you’re using your phone on such a heavy level that the small spec updates are worth it the every day user of those who use phones for work calling family texting friends streaming media FaceTiming friends and family the 13 Pro Max satisfys all those areas perfectly fine so save your money and pass on the 14 Pro Max Iphone just isn’t enough there to wow the consumers to buy a whole new device year after year.
I still don’t get it if somebody compares the model right before the current release . From an actual performance point of view in terms of overall speed and ability to run apps , of course it it will be very similar. The difference will always be subtle especially going forward from now on since the dynamic island will be part of the UI. The future switch to usb type C will of course be an upgrade but not in a usability/ performance stand point in my opinion. To me upgrades will be only be objectively be apparent two to three models from the current models . This has been the case before when seen from performance and feature point of view. ✌️

Apple was not trying to target people with iPhone 13 Pro Max units. 14’s were solely targeted to people with 12’s and older Apple already knew this
I could tell it’s significance when you showed the screen in the sun alone but when you asked while showing both phones there’s no difference in screen brightness or even resolution
A version of dynamic island could be implemented to 13 series also, but apple wont do it bcos it´s a "14 pro series only". Also no idea why cinematic mode is capped to only 1080p on 13 models (buy 14 pro to get it, duh -obviously).

My question however is a bit different. i have an iPhone 11 and need to upgrade and thinking about getting the pro model. I get that people should not upgrade from 13 to 14 but should I save a few dollars and buy a new 13 pro?
I had an iPhone 11 Pro Max and upgraded to the 14 Pro Max and I love it !!!!! I think if you could save up to a 14 Pro / pro Max it would be a better upgrade in my opinion, The dynamic island, always on display , the brighter display , the cameras and 120 Hz promotion in my opinion, all these features are worth it, but it depends on your usage. If you don't care about these features, then just buy the 13 pro but in my opinion finder 14 pro/Max would be the better option since the phone would not be outdated because of the new front design with the dynamic island , you'll feel that your phone is Future proof and want to feel outdated very fast!

A lot of nonsense on many YT channels these days. Over 90% buying the 14 Pros will be coming from much older phones, so what is this video for, that 10%, or just trolling? Clearly yearly upgrades are nominal, though I would argue this upgrade 13P to 14P is more than most 2022 flagship releases. But for those in that 10%, if they can afford it, it is a no brainer to upgrade. The 14Pros offer much more; and these include, AOD, Dynamic Island, 48mp camera, faster RAM, better battery life on efficiency cores, more performance on main cores, etc.
Do not be dictated by subjective YT influencers that are agenda-driven more than being helpful. Of course, if money is tight, then as with everything, we have to micro-manage our spendings.
WhatsApp transfer is now natively supported, idk why he would sponsor it lol. I transferred myself from my Oneplus to iphone and it was seamless
As an amateur photographer, I can say that my 14 Pro Max is amazing. It actually can replace up to a 4000$ photography setup, it's really impressive (of course, if you know what you are doing and if you know how to use its features to their maximum potential). I would say it is a really convenient and performant tool for people like me and is even worth buying if you are not particularly interested in its cameras but haven't upgraded your phone since the IPhone 12.
All these new screens I just see more complications in the event of needing a local screen replacement

I went for the upgrade because I wanted to go back to the Max size and apple offered me a $600 trade in credit so the upgrade cost ,me $600.00 worth it to me.

I don't care about battery drain of always on display. I always have 1.5-2 days of battery life with my use. I just don't like its distracting.
A suggestion, there should not be a video or even a consideration about upgrade from last generation, we all know each generation only has few new features and doesn’t worth to upgrade.
There is really no point to upgrade smartphone for every generation since the price tag is US$999.
It's 2022 and iPhones which cost kidneys lol- still heats and cuts brightness.

I agree. And with mine 12PM I’ve had it since March 2021 and it still at 100% battery health. So I can’t bring myself to upgrade since it’s like new still.

Not mentioning HUGE improvements of 48 Mp ProRAW mode is a huge fail - today I by mistake forgot to turn on ProRAW on 2 photos I shot, and yes, looks like the good old 12 "Mp" (more like 4 Mp) oil painting iPhone photos from the past. It's a game changer if you care about photography.
Skip the iPhone 14 Pro Max… If you can’t afford to purchase it for retail. You should always buy unlocked smartphones. You’re not locked into any carrier. It’s better than the 13 Pro Max. That’s where I came from.

Only an idiot would upgrade their phone after only one year! Even Apple selling a new model every year is stupidly commercial, relying on customers being easily fooled.
The reason why the best advice is to buy the best you can afford once and keep for as long as possible. That policy works well for shoes, clothes, hi-fi, phones, cars, and computers etc. Costs less too in the longer term. It’s worked for me for over 40 years and my car is nearly 20 years old because I bought the best I could afford then and I’ve had 15 years finance free motoring at 50 mpg :-)
If you're someone that makes TH-cam or content related videos for a living and have that disposable income it's not stupid. Especially when you can get a tax right off not including the resale value. As someone to went from the 8 plus to the 12 and most likely won't upgrade to until 15 or 16 I don't tell people how to spend or upgrade their devices.
