The song titled "แสงสุดท้าย" (Sang Sud Tai) translated "The Last Light" is sort of like "The light at the end of tunnel". Inspiring and encouraging in its context.
Thanks for checking them out, this is from their concert in 2010 pretty much at the height of their popularity and when Thai rock was really booming with great bands all over. BODYSLAM doesn't have the heaviest songs nor the most technical (though their lead guitarist is definitely very talented as with all the other band members) but they generally go for uplifting and meaningful lyrics just like this song (Thai people are generally suckers for lyrics, so meaningful and relatable songs that are memorable are usually the biggest hits).
This song was so popular and growing up I heard it so much around that time but as with many other BODYSLAM releases, if you're Thai you definitely heard their songs. BODYSLAM themselves have been around since the early 2000s but I'm unsure if they existed as a different iteration earlier than this. The lead singer (Toon) is also very famous and a while ago he did marathons running from North to South of Thailand to raise money for hospitals ~ generally a very cool guy.
The route was over 2,215km. He ran for 55 days and raised over 1,195 million baht (around 34.2 million us dollar) for hospitals in many provinces. Such a great man. 😊 ❤

I have never realized that what made this song most epic and impactful is actually the meaning of the lyric. I have not listened to them for long time. And seeing your video and listening it live performances. It made me tearfully sing along. Just like one ok rock. The meaning of the song is what made the song great
fun fact: just a few months prior to the show, the singer got his cervical spine so badly injured and there was a big news about that (like it went LITERALLY everywhere as the band was at their ultimate peak back then) so everyone was afraid if he couldn't recover in time and the show had to be postponed but fortunately he made it so the crowd you hear in the video most of them were feeling someting like "hell yeahhhhh"😂

Thank you for your reaction Toon Bodyslam Thai rocker "Toon" Artiwara Kongmalai is besides being a rock singer. He has also organized fundraising activities for the Kao Kon La Kao project 2 times as follows:
1st time, 2016, the project One Step at a Time for Bang Saphan Hospital by Toon Bodyslam, which raised funds by running a long distance, starting from Bangkok and ending at Bang Saphan Hospital. Prachuap Khiri Khan Province Total distance is 400 kilometers and able to raise funds from Thai people all over the country up to 85 million baht.
2nd time, 2017, One step at a time project for 11 hospitals nationwide It is a long-distance run to raise funds to buy medical equipment for 11 hospitals across the country, taking 55 days to run from Betong District, Yala Province, the area at the tip of the handle (the southernmost point of the country) to the district. Mae Sai, Chiang Rai Province (the northernmost point of Thailand), a total distance of 2,215 km, raising donations from Thai people all over the country up to 1,142 million baht. And this is another side of this man who is a singer and he still has a heart that is also beautiful.

Full capacity of this stadium is 80K, when organise concert it has capacity of 63-65K depending on the size of stage.
Early Bodyslam (former band's name was La-On) was just an ordinary pop-rock love-song
band. After their 2005 album (Believe), the band has changed their style to more 'pua chiwit', inpired from Carabao, one of the most famous Pua Chiwit band (Thai-styled Folk Rock music with Philosophical or Poetic lyrics telling the hard life of the working class people). The 'difference/unique' vocal stlye you heard is the iconic vocal style of Pua Chiwit.
FYI: Carabao's icon,Yeunyong Opakul AKA Aed Carabao, is Toon's relative. Aed's music inpiration is Santana.
FYI2: Pua Chiwit in Thai means For (pua) Life (chiwit).

Body Slam has a twin band with a similar style of music, the Big Ass band. The two bands have a long relationship. They're both the best bands. They helped revive the rock scene of the '80s and '90s, as well as pop and hip hop. They are two of the leaders of Genie Records. The pity is that Big Ass is at the peak of its popularity in Thailand. It is considered a very successful band. The band members began to have conflicts. The singer, who is considered the band's co-founder and front man, announced his separation from the group. Even though this band still exists But it's not the same anymore. But both Body slam and Big Ass still have a good relationship to this day. I recommend Big Ass band too. 😂
The singer of this band has run from South to North for medication charity. The insane activity and his performance make him our legend.

I don't really know how to describe their genre (perhaps rock ballads? with a little folk) but they're on of the bands I really enjoy. They announced that they were disbanding in 2025 due to everyone getting older but recently they hosted a concert with an orchestra and I really loved it so I hope you will react to some songs from that.
