    I have so far fixed "one" nest doorbell install, "after the major outdoor wiring project", in-which they had original installer tell them the wire is bad, and wifi is bad, etc.
    they had tech support on phone and installers out 10+ times. yeah, "we ran a new wire" and I think they fiddled with it to re-setup new device, causing a wire on the back to touch the steel mounting plate, which is apparently tied to one of the terminal screws directly (instead of capacitive/resistor coupled) that caused the doorbell to stay powered and start humming loudly as the nest device ran out of battery power, the old mechanical doorbell was very hot as was the transformer in basement.
    but never fear, I figured it out in a few minutes(starting by pulling wire off doorbell....

    Very cool. Thank you for the install video. How do you protect it from being stolen if someone is familiar with this camera and the way that it is mounted?

    • @DaruDhillon
      @DaruDhillon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Without the mounting bracket the camera doesn’t work so it would take a lot of time/effort to steal. Plus they’d be recorded. Google will replace it if it’s stolen. Details about that is available on their website. Thanks for the question!

    I have always been interested in getting a doorbell camera but always feared someone would just steal it.
    Are there any ways to protect that from happening?

    • @DaruDhillon

      This doorbell has a warranty that if it gets stolen they'll replace it in the US and Canada. They have info on their website to help you out. It’s a good question. Thanks for that!

    Thanks so much for this video! My front door is on the second floor, and packages are usually left in front of the garage at the ground floor. Would the camera work if put on the garage trim? Also, if I want to put one of these both at the garage and the front door, would I be able to give them different chimes while using the same app?

    • @DaruDhillon
      @DaruDhillon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Google home app lets you name each device so you can customize it if you have more than one. The alerts on your phone for the doorbells would also have different names. Ie. front door and garage. I think the chimes would stay the same but I’m not certain. Thanks, Gina!

    The little security connectors would be a good addition to a video like this. I am assuming that they go, connect to the back of the doorbell through the hole in the mounting plate so somebody just can't rip the unit off the mounting bracket and if they do they would then have to contend with the security screws.

    Hi Daru, great review, i would like to use it without paying subscription as well. wondering how is it going with your doorbell?

    • @DaruDhillon
      @DaruDhillon  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      HI, I really like it. Especially for package detection. The AI facial recognition is only available for subscription which is fine for me. I have the doorbell notifications that pop up on my phone. I would like to get a chime to hear the doorbell inside the house. That's the only issue, but it's fixable. Currently the doorbell notifications come through to the TVs and phones. Thanks for the question! It's a good one.

    • @DaruDhillon

      The doorbell is water resistant and has an IP 54 rating. That means it’s protected from water splashes but you shouldn’t shoot high pressure water at it. Thanks for the question Maria!
