The only reason there wasn't a death was because no one was in the passenger seat at the time. The driver had a number of cuts but survived luckily.

@@Jackson-pu7gd They usually just don't, and just defrost their windshield and scrape off just enough to see out the windshield drivers side and their door window. Then again we don't live anywhere near a big highway, so I guess it's not such a big problem where I live.

He uses a rubber mallet instead of a steel hammer to negate the worries of denting/scratching the body and damaging windows. As I described in another comment, glass like this is designed to withstand heavy impacts and high stress. It's very unlikely a rubber mallet could do anything.

I live in newberg, and at the time, I worked at a shop thats a 5 minute drive or a 15-minute walk from my house, I came out that Friday morning and there was so much ice and snow on my car I ended up having to walk to work. We got out early because hardly anyone showed up. That weekend, we went out to dinner for my mom's birthday, and I had to scrape off so much ice from my car. Huge sheets about half an inch thick. Good times

I was stuck at the Loves truck stop in Troutdale during this storm. I did the exact same thing banging the ice off my semi truck. And yes, it was satisfying 🙂. But I think my ice was thicker and I used a 3lb hand sledge.

That's 59 degrees considered a nice temp here in Oregon USA, summer here can get as hot as 38.8 Celsius / 102 degs which is hot for us. Winters can get down to -6.66 / 20 degrees which is cold but it only lasts at most two weeks, same for the heat. So this video shows that happens when it rains not snows and it's -6.6 Celsius outside, the rain sticks to everything coating it in a thick coating of ice.
That is just brilliant. I never would have thought to have used a rubber mallet for that! Boy, the time I've spent trying to pry open doors when a rubber mallet would have saved the day.
Watching the ice fall off was fun to watch like frozen glass... I'm just thinking Elsa must've had taco bell for the first time and gave that vehicle a nice icy blast 😂
