I remember when i started OMFS rotation during final year. I wasn't given any instructions by the demos or seniors. My friend who had done her rotation gave me pre and post op instructions and guidance. Every morning and after each patient I would disinfect everything that needed disinfection on my station. Learned alot from her. Peer assisted learning is also a valuable tool. It has now become such a deep rooted habit of mine. I do it myself not ever relying on my assistant.

This made me revise all the basic instructions of OPD. 😇 Thankfully, I have not been kicked out of the department .😅 I remember those days when I had problems with indirect vision and my seating position used to be wrong. And I clearly remember, I was rebuked because of this. But, now I properly follow all the guidelines .... Such good memories help me to stay more focused. 😇 It has only been a few months post Covid that we are witnessing normal patient inflow in the OPD. In some OPDs patients are provided with two choices: whether they want to save the tooth or would want to get it extracted, during the general diagnosis only. Sometimes, the patient might willingly chose tooth extraction over tooth restoration when given a choice between the two. In our college OPD, whenever a patient asks me whether or not his tooth could be saved.... I usually reply them saying that they will get to know everything; but only after the complete diagnosis. Even if it means spending a good 2 hours time in the hospital. And by no means they can get to know that in 2 minutes. Because it would be too early to comment on extraction just by looking at the radiograph and during provisional diagnosis . Every tooth is precious and can be saved if proper diagnosis is done. The books that I studied are PHYSIOLOGY from guyton Never study firdous or short books They never build your concepts Your are going to be a doctor so develop habit of studying international authors books. Biochemistry is scattered Study from lippincott and any other indian author book like JP or satya. Mostly 2nd year content is in lippincott
