The transformation of Alli's expression through the song is really nuanced and sublime. Starting from a gentle, sweet lullaby, singing to her child who is coming, and then turning into an emotional plea for more time, singing about her daughter who is slipping away. Truly moving and gets me every time in the theatre and online.
This song makes me weep every time I hear it, I wish she would have gotten Tony nominated for this role. This is my favorite song on the cast album by far. It just breaks my heart to hear her go from a small plea to a belty and hopeless ballad. Ali Mauzey is such an AMAZING performer.
@@thomasbaia7293I doubt it considering cursing on television. Personally, I hope it’s Before I Go. Just showcasing the emotional core of the show of Kimberly just trying to be seen as a normal teenager with the time she has.
Father Time Slow down the day Don't let the dark come and Steal it away For goodness sake We're still awake And baby wants to play Father Time Hold back the night Please let the sun stay and We'll be alright Tell?the?man?in the moon It's?much too soon To?be turning out the light Baby's eyes are heavy now Baby's breath is deep Mommy wants to baby her Baby wants to sleep Father Time Are you there? Maybe tomorrow you'll have Time to spare And so I pray For another day Baby's ?yes are heavy now Baby's br?ath is deep Mommy wants to baby her Baby wants to sleep Father Time Are you there? Maybe tomorrow you'll have Time to spare And so I pray For another day Father, hear my prayer Father, hear my prayer Father, hear my prayer

Alli was equally deserving for a Tony Nom. Overall amazing cast .
I have discovered her in Wicked and in Cry baby. I am so happy she can introduce us to a new musical
This song is so devastatingly beautiful 💔 I still think she should've gotten a Tony nom for this performance.
Her performance of this character is so complex and layered. I cried watching this at the Booth. Brava Alli. You knocked it out of the park!!
This song gets my vote for their Tony's performance.
I think they will do better as it an upbeat song that dose not give away much of the plot
@@thomasbaia7293 I'm with you! Uptempo for the Tony show. I love this song, though...and she does a great job with it.

God she nails this.
This song makes me cry every time. Just imagine, your child is only expected to live until 16 and it’s the night before her 16th birthday. 😢
Stunningly beautiful ❤
is it humanly possible to not cry at this song?? asking for a friend...
Father Time
Slow down the day
Don't let the dark come and
Steal it away
For goodness sake
We're still awake
And baby wants to play
Father Time
Hold back the night
Please let the sun stay and
We'll be alright
Tell?the?man?in the moon
It's?much too soon
To?be turning out the light
Baby's eyes are heavy now
Baby's breath is deep
Mommy wants to baby her
Baby wants to sleep
Father Time
Are you there?
Maybe tomorrow you'll have
Time to spare
And so I pray
For another day
Baby's ?yes are heavy now
Baby's br?ath is deep
Mommy wants to baby her
Baby wants to sleep
Father Time
Are you there?
Maybe tomorrow you'll have
Time to spare
And so I pray
For another day
Father, hear my prayer
Father, hear my prayer
Father, hear my prayer
mother
Mama
Or listen to Abba's "Slipping Through My Fingers". Same theme.
