Just one thing I would add to this video is that it is important for people to realize that the paint only goes on the inside of the tape. I have seen people lay out some flames that look nice on the outside of the tape but the inside is garbage.
I'm thinking of doing the layout then spraying a satin or matte clear over the gloss paint to get a ghost effect. Will this work? Or should I go ahead and do the opposite, meaning satin, do the flames with the tape the do a gloss clear coat.
good job! would I use same procedure if I wanted flames on the hood?,and how would I measure to a point?? would it be best to sketch it out first? thank u

It helped me. I never realized about cutting out the tape inside the basic outline, and then re-applying it for the shapes after the base coat.

Those flames are very novice in appearance and application . There is no way any flames that looked like those would ever be laid down in my shop
