*** IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING HEIGHT ADJUSTER*** as a fellow izy owner myself (cordless 16 inch) there's something you and everyone should know about the height adjuster mechanism. when you adjust the height anything over a setting 2, the front adjuster needs to be 1 notch lower than the rear as the front raises the deck higher than the back, as there is a larger gap between one of the notches on the rear. e.g. 1 and 1 2 and 2 3 and 2 4 and 3 5 and 4 6 and 5
Great video Pete and information shared on pricing. I charged a set price per visit depending on the size of lawn. Hedge cutting I charged price depending on how trimming is required, so price work again. Any weeding, pruning, planting clearing etc I do at an hourly rate. I have a larger garden which I took on 2 months ago currently at £60 for fortnightly grass cut (need to increase this price) then additional 2 hour maintaing boarders. Waste away at additional cost. Phone is ringing like mad at the moment had 5 calls today but pretty much full unless it is something worth taking on that I can add onto a day when I am nearby. Nice to read through the comments of other gardeners or subscribers. Happy 16th Birthday to you Son for the other day.!🥳 Have a great week Pete💰 Look forward to the next one😎
Thanks Nicki really pleased your flat out and getting loads of calls Thank you for my sons birthday wishes Have a great week too keep up your awesome work Thank you for the continued support I really appreciate it 🙏☀️
Hey Pete. I have an Izy, and I love it. I know you and Rob have said its a bit slow, but I'm really happy with the speed of mine. I don't charge for my gardening work at the moment, mainly elderly relatives and voluntary at a school, but the advice on charging was helpful. Lovely work Pete Peace and love brother
They are very good If I had more money I’d have the Honda pro 536 that mower puts down a solid stripe and sucks up wet grass and leaves like no other mower Well that I’ve used anyway Thanks for watching bill ☺️💪🏼
Very nice video. The honda izy is obviously a good choice it looks nice and solid. You will have to let everyone know later on in the year how well it has performed against the Hayter. Over a season. Dad
I love the idea of the Hayter, and I can imagine a lot of customers love the stripes. The only issue is, I’m just in the process of trying to get a van, and with your guidance, as much basic equipment as I can. Obviously with the mower side of things, the hayter is quite expensive.
Hi jack that’s nice to know I’m not the only one who does things this way It’s beautiful having some sunshine makes you feel great doesn’t it Thanks for watching mate
Yes the battery will be fine every three weeks What you could do is run the mower the 5 mins between the weeks your not using it to cut grass but generally speaking the battery should be ok
Crazy isnt it the prices across the country and how they differ.. for your lawn I am currently charging £15 to include removal of waste. Some larger lawns that take say an hour or so to do I charge £25 but utilise the customers bin.. I am based in Preston, Lancashire and the weather over Summer here is usually terrible.. for example only June the 24th and September the 4th even remotely came close to what you would describe as a "Summer's day".. I have tried asking for £25 as a minimum but have lost so many customers.. Too many odd job guys ( usually retired folk ) around always prepared to under cut.
That’s the biggest problem older people doing it cheap then when garden company’s like us go in at a fair price needing to cover our overheads you get penny pinchers who don’t understand or value what your saying when quoting Stick to your principles you know your worth if it’s too cheap it’s not always work taking the work Have a great Sunday mate

@@THETATTOOGARDENER83 Yeah, clean out the grass, and spray it liberally. Spray it on the top, where the engine meets the deck too, and around the brackets that support the handles. Try to avoid wet grass, if you can't run it on the drive for a few minutes to dry it off.

Do you offer full maintenance (grass and borders) to all the large properties you service? And, how do you time manage them- do you offer the customer a certain number of hours per week/fortnight/month. Do you split the work into multiple visits? I've dabbled into a couple of large places on day work and found I lose 2+ hours just mowing. I'm always worried the borders are getting neglected because there's only so much you can do in a day.
I take someone with me so for example I’ll do 4 hours which is 8 man hours this way we can get more done in less time then in the afternoon do the same again for another client Sometimes I’ll just do a full day on my own It really depends on how many hours the clients want me to fulfil The bigger jobs are full maintenance most of the jobs are and I have a few mo blow go’s
