  • Turbosound iP300, at this price ONLY the QSC CP8 compares!
Looks great over a subwoofer - testing to follow. My sub recommendations: Bose Sub1, EV ELX200-12sp, RCF 702
    Built like a Tank!
There is a basic level meter on the LCD screen and on the App it does show clipping.
Miss a 1/8" jack to plug in a phone, this speaker is either Bluetooth or mixer.
Louder and better sounding than the $900 Bose Compact! 3-4 times the volume of a single S1PRO!
Bargain of the Portable PA World! Who has been keeping this secret?
Did I say it was loud? Max dB test today: 101.6dB before clipping. This was a real world test indoors in a very large open area with high cathedral ceilings at 3 meters. In comparison the EV 30m at $1,400 was slightly louder at 102.2 dB. Incredible performance at this price! At this max volume on a watt meter the iP300 only pulled 57.4 watts! These tests were on Bluetooth only, using a mixer with boosted preamps would probably give even better numbers.
Bass response of the iP300: -10dB Frequency Range iP300 40Hz, QSC K12.2 45Hz, QSC CP8 53Hz, you have to go to the $1,800 EV50 at 37Hz to beat it! Incredible bass performance at this price. Sounds almost like a small subwoofer is engaged.

The Turbosound iNSPIRE iP300 is a column-type speaker with 2 x 6.5" LF Drivers and 4 x 2" HF Drivers to deliver more dispersion compared to regular 2 way, bi amplified speakers.
It features controls for its mixer via bluetooth on iOS and Android and comes with an inbuilt reverb.
The advantage of prioritizing dispersion over volume is better performance at all volumes.
Most 2 way speakers with just a tweeter and woofer tend to sound more muffled at lower volumes. The iNSPIRE iP300 was designed to sound great at any volume.
    Specifications:
    LF Driver: 2 x 6.5" low-frequency drivers
HF Driver: 4 x 2" neodymium drivers with edge-wound aluminum voice coil
    Amplifier: Class-D
    Output Power Peak: 600W
    Output Power Continuous: Not Specified
    Frequency Response: 40Hz-20khz (-10 dB)
Maximum Peak SPL: 124 dB SPL @ 1m
    Crossover Frequency: Not Specified
    Enclosure: Plastic enclosure
    Mounting: Pole, Floor
    Inputs: 2 x XLR-1/4" combo
    Outputs: 2 x XLR (link)
    Controls: Power, DSP controls.
    Dimensions: 28.1" x 8.2" x 8.5"
    Weight: 26.2 lbs.

The Power Station I used, Ecoflow Pro www.amazon.com/EF-ECOFLOW-Por...
This system will work equally as well using the JBL Compact instead of the Bose S1Pro. Bose adds some smooth midrange where the Compact actually adds some more clarity on the top end that comes through over the iP300.

Just did an A/B test iP300 vs my EV30m. Same max 120+dB. Same crisp/clear high end with no distortion at high volume. Both lack some mid quality. EV has Slightly better bass because of the 10" woofer and wood enclosure. EV has an incredible APP and a 5ch mixer. The two are very similar in sound signature. iP300 is small enough to be used in the home to replace an old Hifi or hooked up to a home theatre. Biggest difference EV is $1,400. iP300 $430 For $860 and a pair of speaker stands, two iP300's would blow away the EV30m. I'm shocked!!

Someone always asks, "How long will that external power station run that rig?" Formula: Ecoflow Pro 720 wh, figure 85%efficiency which is 612wh divided by max watts pulled. In this test the max watts pulled was 135 watts before the iP300 clipped. So 612 divided by 135 = 4.5 hours at max volume! Plenty of juice left over to run a mixer and my Roland electronic drum pads .Figure 5-6 hours at reasonable levels, WOW!

Unless I’m mistaken, running signal through the sub enable more efficient power consumption on the top, by crossing over only the higher frequencies. Lower frequencies are notorious for higher power consumption. I am not “book learned” on this subject, so open to a more learned opinion.
My assumption is that you can get better output by running the signal through the sub, into the top and over to the S1Pro. (Unless you want those bass frequencies in the S1Pro)

      You are 100% correct!
With the original S1Pro, if you run through the sub first, you lose Bluetooth connection. The new Bose+ model solves this problem.

@@sonny9546 True the 10" woofer and wooden enclosure of the EV is noticeably better bass. The question is, is that improvement in bass worth the extra $960? A stand alone dedicated sub like the Bose Sub1 for $900 has much better bass than the EV.

So is this the perfect outdoor battery operated system? Not quite, the problem is the S1Pro starts to clip red at 12:00. Outside with any kind of wind this isn't really loud enough. The iP300 is much louder and the Bose S1Pro can't keep up, so the quest for the perfect outdoor, portable, battery operated system continues. But I am getting close!

I'm confused whether it's better to buy Electro-Voice EV200 or Bose Sub1 - I have 2x Bose S1 Pro, and for larger events RCF 422 (1x12' and 2' driver - these are great!!! SPL 128dB)
Will Electro-Voice be able to cut off the low Hz so that the Bose S1 Pro doesn't play with the lowest bass???

Thank you so much for this. I've been researching for months & planning on burning man in Sept to bring an outdoor sound system. It's in the dessert & want to be able to be loud enough for 100+ people. And I'm looking for the absolute loudest outdoor system with bass. I have a eco flow battery that will power it. It would be nice if the speakers and subwoofer is IP rated because of the amount of sand and dust as well. But maybe I'll plastic wrap buttons & dials if it isn't. Do you think 130db with great bass is possible? The KSC212C cardioid sub is the sub I have been researching as the directional cardioid supposedly is +15dB . It's got wheels for portability. Was hoping Bose sub2 would have been the one but your reviews say otherwise ? Then which 2 speakers to pair it with

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz

130dB outside will be very difficult. Probably 15” tops will get you close. Good bass, minimum two 18” subs. That type of system will need very powerful external power source.

I’m a bit confused. I always go from sub to tops not tops to sub, so that that filter on the sub works on the music to the tops?

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are in the majority!
I always run my sub from an Aux out of a mixer or in this case from an App. A lot of DJs do this. I like to have separate gain control for the sub and a mute function to quickly A/B with and without the sub engaged. I find it the only way to blend the sub for different tracks since they are all recorded differently. Here I am controlling the sub through the EV App. At the instant press of a button I can control gain, mute, low pass x over, and modes. The EV App has a Club Mode that really steps up the bass when the tune calls for it. All done from 40 feet away, sitting from the audience perspective. Even my latest home Hifi sub, SVS SB3000 has App gain control! Will never go back to the old way! Try it?
Running through the sub first you set it and don't touch it again. Of course sub first is the best way to get the most headroom and clarity at max volume from your tops. My work around is to get good enough tops where I never feel the need to turn them up near max and they never lose clarity at max volume, so I can run them full range. Just get the Right Rig for the Gig:)

    Hi Bill.
I am on a quest for an excellent system for smaller events.
I currently use JBL SRX 815p with 818sp subs, and for smaller events I just use the 815p by themselves with no subs. But I'd like to get a couple smaller (probably 10" tops) and a couple smaller (looking at 12") subs. The 815p speakers have an incredible sound, but they're also huge, heavy, and a bit overkill for a good many of the events I do.
What are your opinions on the RCF 702 AS II subs? I cannot find many reviews or sound tests of these online, and I'm wondering if I would be happy with them, matched with the RCF NX 10A II tops.
And what's your opinion on those vs the Bose Sub2? The latter sounds like a killer sub but I don't like that it needs to lay down on it's side to accommodate a pole mount. Picky, I know! ;)
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I have the RCF 702 paired with a single RCF TT10. Incredible combination! I would say the 702 is the equal to the Sub2. Sub2 is heavier. Sub2 does go lower to 37Hz so it might seem like a more musical Hifi sub. The 702 hits very hard! Sounds very similar to my QSC K Sub which has a great punch for live kick drum. I went with the 702 for weight reasons. If I had to do it again I would go with the 705, which isn't that much heavier or much more $$. I agree, I don't like the look of the Sub2 laying on its side.

Most people would go with the Sub1 because it has a high pass filter that matches up automatically with the S1 for more clarity/headroom. Personally I couldn't hear the difference. Can't beat the light weight and thin form factor of the Sub1. I slide the Sub1 under a low table that no other sub could fit under.
The EV ELX is a higher performing sub. It goes louder. What sells me on the EV is the Bluetooth App. It has a Club DSP mode that really thumps when switched on. I love being able to independently control the gain and the ability to mute the sub from a distance. Both same $900 price, I would choose the EV if I had to have only one.
