Aug 1984 I walked into Kole Pontiac in Oak Lawn Il and bought a black and gold 84 off the showroom. T tops , 5.0 HO . An outstanding car and I have great memories all these years later. Thanks for posting
I had an 84 Trans Am with a 5.0 and automatic transmission. Thing wasn't all that quick off the line but if you were on the highway and put the gas pedal down the fan in the hood scoop would turn on and dump cold air into the carb. The speedometer needle would just drop to 85 which is as high as the speedo would go. I miss the smell of that car.
Nice cars. I think the third generation hit it's styling stride the next year in 1985. They did away with the asymmetric hood and put in the vents. Also the aero package was more natural.
Though I cant send pics of youtube I have discord add me so I can show Id like to make some friends to my username and tags on discord are Unzueta#0210
In looks? The 82 to 84 are the most desirable looks wise. Engine wise the TBI and TPI were certainly much better but the style was going down in 85. 91 and 92 were awful, trying to give a glimpse of the 4th generation style.
@@MotorScotti Performance for this 5.0 H.O. was rated at 190hp. The 5.0 H.O. typically came with a 3:73 rear end, which was equal to the performance of the 1985 TPI. The 5.0 H.O was desirable because you could order it with a 5-speed manual.
I have 1 84 3 0 5.I'll put five speed royal metallic Blue original owner t tops forty two thousand and eight Hundred and three miles Just needs a little t l c
Had an 84-5 speed, black and gold trim. Only could get the carburator with the 5 speed. Loved that car and it handled so great. Almost bought a Z-28 until I saw how bad the fit and finish was. The Pontiac was a lot better put together and the design was much better also,
I miss my 84.....one of the best driving cars I ever had and loved that car.....
Me too. I had the 1984 black Trans Am with T-tops with the Aero package HO.
Fun memories of cruising in my cousin's black '83 Trans Am when I was 11-12. He laid down many a patch of rubber.

My Grandma had one of these back in the day, but she sold it because it was too slow and she was always late for church!!!
Good ole iron duke lol
This is one they didn't have to buy........once the TPI 85 model came out, the 82-84 models became obsolete in looks and performance.

The black/gold 84 with Recaro package and aero package was a much better looking car than any 85 and up.
I prefer the front end with the fog lights, 85 blue, grey ground effects, t tops, I miss my Trans Am
They all looked great from 84-92 , with aero pkg..Trans ams are all collectors items now . This one is awesome btw.
