I wouldn't play Gavi with De Jong in a double pivot , that's coz De Jong as the deepest midfielder is not capable enough to make defensive actions like Busquets , well no one really can but Gavi with Pedri with Pedri as the deeper midfielder will be a better option coz Pedri is everything Gavi is not . Gavi in a box to box role will bring aggression , passion and a little bit of recklessness while Pedri , the calmer of the duo will be great as a deep lying playmaker , he can keep things tight and simple and switch passes into the flanks and when you compare Pedri with De Jong for defensive actions taken , he's miles better . Just imagine , Pedri will add a whole new dimension to that "Barca" pivot role by joining the advanced midfielders in possession and making the attacking play of the team better rather than just simply passing it straight to his attacking players .

It’s not about defending, it’s about dropping deep in between the defenders when having the ball. But I’d still choose Pedri above de Jong when push comes to shove!
No need to think about the ideal who will play in what position anymore, that's a problem when the team is playing bad. Any player that gets benched from now on is fine as long as we continue to play good
Well I will like to suggest that if the attack of our opponent is not dangerous then we can play a 3-1-2-1-3 If the attack is very dangerous and the mid field is technical then we play a: 4-5-1. Here Ansu and lemin yamal can climb up and pull the defenders towards then and creat space for gavi or Rapha, or pedri.
I absolutely don’t think de Jong n gavi are out best dms. I think gavi will be the more defensive pivot of course. But de jong isn’t a good defender at all. N Pedri would easily be better along side gavi. Pedri has won back the ball the most so far this season. That alone proves he’s a way better defender than de jong. Honestly, I think we should immediately sell de Jong. Especially now that we have Casado and Bernal. There isn’t a single thing de Jong excels at more than others other than maybe his ball carrying. And even that I’d say Pedri is better. Genuinely, Pedri does everything de Jong does while also being a much better defender. If we didn’t have Pedri, then I would see why we need de Jong. But we do have him. And he’s a better passer and distributor than de Jong. While being defensively better. Pedri has been playing so well this year as that more attacking pivot in our double pivot. So I don’t see how he can be dropped for de Jong. Pedri has been our best midfielder, and there’s no way we should downgrade to de Jong, although it’s not that big of a down grade. Pedri n gavi are our future pivots under flick. And our back up pivots will be Casado n Bernal. The only way I see de Jong getting a lot of game time is if Dani olmo keeps getting injured, which would then force Pedri to play as that attacking mid, this opening up a spot for de Jong. But other than this I don’t see another way
