Great angle. I love watching Nicole play and learn a lot from her, but you can see the whole band as well, especially their fantastic drummer, Annie. Keke has an effortless style. Shermy's right hand picking is machine gun fast when needed, and that's not easy to do. saw them live and got to meet them on this last tour. Very sweet, warm and generous with their time.
When I met them at Cleveland, ( I heard you were there) they were exactly as I imagined they were and more. Sarah bowed out of the after show activities, but Shermy and Nicole were exceptional. Annie was on home turf, so was being mobbed. Animal Annie should be her nickname.
@@bshingledecker I didn't make Cleveland. I saw them at Millersville, in PA with Keke on bass. Sadly, Awesome Annie (as I call her) had a sad event and wasn't there. Was really looking forward to seeing her, but family first as it should be. Got to spend a few minutes with Nicole, but was reduced to a goofy teenager. She was so so sweet.
Hmmmm. I don't know what's more intriguing here, the fact that not a single song in the set had vocals or that a group of 4 girls is single-handedly keeping a genre alive that hasn't charted a hit in about 6 decades. They certainly have mastered this music and then some, right down to the tone. The question is, is this all there is? How cool would it be if they changed genre's every couple of years and become the next big psychedelic free form or Prog supergroup! Well, one day at time. For now, this is their thing. Next stop...vocals ladies!
The music without vocals is great. Vocals are overrated and unnecessary. The Ventures filled stadiums in Japan and were superstars all the way until they died.
