I have read and heard for Cancer ascendant if Mercury posited in the third house in its own sign is a primary malefic by placement. Is this correct ? Though 3rd house mercury is a malefic, and Mercury mahadasha was not such a good one for me, still I found the following ketu mahadasha the worst of all. I am now in Venus mahadasha, just 1 year into it and I am glad to be here after the harrowing ketu.
I have exalted Mercury in 3rd house in conjunction with Mars. It all depends on conjunction and aspects.
