You said the key thing...if all cars used fsd then the edge cases would fall drastically because all the cars could talk to each other.
America is so unsupportive of Elon, I dont blame him for launching robotaxi overseas.
Tom Zhu is back to China since Elon needs someone who can lead and he can TRUST to lead all aspects of FSD, RoboTaxi and Gen2.5 in China. A lot is going to happen with Tesla in China in 2024-6 and Elon needs Tom there to make sure everything is lined up and expedited. Tom has shown in the past to work at Warp Speed and he’s the right person for the job.

I read an article (swedish) that tesla and elon musk is getting sued for how he and the company talk about FSD... I dont know how legit it is, just wanted to share. I always feared this could happen if elon or tesla dont change their tone on fsds capabilitys.
The article was on REUTERS news service. It is legit. Tesla is getting sued.
Brian you nailed it. China is looking to future and is all in on FSD and humanoid robots because of their labor issues. I still don’t think they will get many foreign companies to invest again in China. I think that ship has sailed. Beyond batteries I think they will struggle to export many EVs and no one will take delivery of Chinese built humanoid robot.
Not sharing your enthusiasm for FSD12 especially since .6 was failing on highway lane merges, intersection etiquette, and has no clue as to how to handle a crash scene with first responders all around. That's ALOT'A FIXIN to do before ROBO!

Could be wrong, but I don't think it would be a robotaxi-only highway, rather specific areas in southern China (I'd guess in districts of Guangzhou) that allow it through a specific APP. Nansha district is really friendly to driverless taxis
On 8/8, Tesla will announce that robotaxi 's north American premier will start in Arizona, waymo 's backyard. Robotaxies will start this year.
China will be first at robottaxi and the taxi will be prudused in china at first might be the reason to send back their factory chef. (sr bad English)

Great Channel, all this nice talking and hype is good but IMO actually delivering revenue and earnings growth is better than Tesla HQ talking all the time about FSD and RT.

I'm sure robotaxi will dominate the market in China, with their population and limited space robotaxi will reduce emissions, but not having to afford charging, insurance, and maintenance, all wrapped up in a high tech affordable community vehicle.
Actually China is currently experiencing serious financial reversals in real estate, manufacturing personal. corporate, central and provincial government debt and as a result a severe decline in personal consumption and rising unemployment.
There is minimal to no concern with having sufficient labor as Brian states and great concern with unemployment at all levels of skill sets and ages. The problem is particularly accute for the millions of new college graduates.
The real reason the CCP has and will encourage Robotaxi's and FSD is to raise the level of both among the other EV manufacturer's perhaps by licensing or even "stealing" some elements of the software and then enhancing these EV manufacturers to export their EVs.
It is all about technology leads and exports not freeing up labor as noted above.

You are forgetting, as of today FSD cannot drive by itself in a busy large city, without *human* *supervision* .

so many (also in USA) simply refuse to acknowledge that China is in major demographic crisis. people learned in youth that China is the most populous country & can't accept that things change. India is now the biggest & due to Chinese cultural attachment with having a male heir + the 36-year-long 1-child policy (1980 - 2016) meant many baby girls were killed (female infanticide has a long history in China) or, when ultra-sound fetal-sex determination became a thing, were aborted. result: 100M+ missing girls/young women. China is done for. only women can birth the next generation. i don't care how "productive" their factories may be. it's crazy to keep investing in new factories - maintenance, specifically, is likely still a good investment. new construction is much better done elsewhere, though.

Manipulation , big equity companies are buying up all the shares from retailers , so they can make more profit
Market manipulation in that the investment firms are buying shares the stock goes up a good deal then they pay these smaller media outlets to drop spin negative news as the corrupt investors sell. Retail then flees the stock.
